Would recommend for anyone looking for a car charger. Got this as a replacement for the one I had for more than 2 years. Exactly as described.

Very good quality this is my 4th charger of same brand in last 10 years devices getting charged perfectly but the price goes exessively high its goes double price from my last purchaged.

Came with two USB leads and the plug. One lead fitted perfectly to my TomTom magnetic window mount. Have seen single USB leads dearer than this OEM complete kit!
Found this on sale in Halfords store, as my local Halfords a good 40 min drive thought I’d check Amazon, same price & free next day delivery
Great for charging your phones/iPads whilst still charging dash cam
Product is an authentic TomTom power cable and car adapter, although it was a little more expensive than non brand similar items. I’m happy with this as it fits my older TomTom and is very durable.
This is the second one I have purchased as a back up as I am satisfied with the older unit which I use on a daily basis as truck driver.
purchased this as my old single Tom Tom USB plug was faulty and did not charge the sat nav some times but this has solved the problem,A little expensive for what it is but I have purchased cheap brands and they burn out hope fully this will last.
For now it is working as it should
What i like about this product is that because my car has positive and negative in reverse. Because it is a Peugeot 206. I wired it up to the car,s battery and used crocodile clips on the end of the cigarette lighter plug for my Sat Nav. This way can also be used for other devices.
My original review gave only 1 star as, at the time, I thought it did not fit the satnav despite the description saying it fitted all Tomtoms with supplied adapter if required, but no adapter was included. This was not the case, due to my own carelessness when opening the package I did not notice an additional cable falling out and rolling under a seat, unfortunately it was the cable with the micro usb, the one I required for my Go Premium. So although there was no adapter, the alternative correct cable was included, making it suitable for the latest devices.
Good solid adapter, it doesn’t feel as though it’s going to fall apart any time soon. The cable is solid too with a right angled micro USB end and a mini USB adapter. These can be used to pretty much charge anything apart from my phone because of the clearance needed for the case I have. So not really a minus. I’ve had it for a while and it’s still going strong, yes it’s a bit more than some of the economy versions but the quality is better, I like it.
The charger cable that came with the original product got damaged through normal use! A replacement from Halfords was prohibitively expensive so I tried to use a generic phone charger but it did not work well, in that it would not fully charge the battery, or, the satnav would run out of power whilst in use, even though it was connected to the car battery through the charger. This one works really well .. charges the battery properly. I hope the cable quality is better than the original one I got with the product. The price is also reasonable.
I have a chinese GPS which had its car charger gone bad. As it’s a quite nice one (ViewSonic… or so it says on it) I wouldn’t want to deal with another chinese charger that is only about to fail again in short time so I decided to go with a brand name and this TomTom car charger looked like a great replacement even if it’s only 1.2amp and my original one was 1.6amp. I don’t care how fast it is charging the battery as long as it’s powerful enough to keep up with the GPS power requirements which are unknown, but this charger is good enough as it seems. A great unexpected bonus is that the charger also came with Mini USB to Micro USB adapter which is a nice touch. Well done, TomTom (altough I hate you company for ignoring Eastern Europe = little to no map coverage).
I have had 2 cheap chargers fail on me at critical points – the mini USB bit that plug sinto the TomTom detaches from the wires.
At approx 10 this is much more expensive than the cheap ones at 2-3 but you get what you pay for. The quality of this wire is noticeably better than the cheaper ones.
For your information – you get a piece that fits into your cigarette lighter. You then get a USB wire which plugs into the cigarette lighter and the TomTom – it is detachable so you can use it on a PC. Finally, the wire is a mini USB(which is what fits on my TomTom) but it also comes with an adapter for micro USB which is what you get on a lot of mobile phones so you can use it to charge your phone when not charging the TomTom.
The only downsides I can think of compared to other charges I have sued is 1) this has a straight wire whereas some others have ‘curly’ wires which stretch as you need them – whereas this wire is quite long 2) I would personally have preferred the wire to be fixed to the cigarette lighter bit rather thand etachable as its one more bit to worry about going misisng when the wire is not in use.
Overall though its a high quality product – don’t bother risking it with a cheap 2 charger because they will fall apart after a few uses.
When my tom tom stopped working suddenly (rather inconvenient as I was motorway driving at the time) I assumed I would need to replace it. My daughter suggested it might be the charging cable & lent me hers to try.The tom tom resumed working so I bought this replacement cable,which works very well, & it appears it would work for a number of different models of tom tom. The only downside is that the connection to the device leads out to the right which means the wire is rather awkwardly placed for plugging into my car lighter, which is located to the left side of the steering wheel. I would recommend this charger & am considering whether to buy another one as a spare.
I brought this charger as my original one gave up the ghost, this is much better than the original it fits like the original so I dont have to move the tom tom further up the windscreen because the fitting are perfect. Great price compared to what elese is out there and delivery was very swift would recomend to anyone whos original charger gives up . I have the tom tom XL and it is perfect.

This charger arrived in double quick time – a relief, since the original Tom Tom charger ceased working and left me stranded TWICE!!! Oh joy – it worked first time I plugged it in, and the coiled lead is so much easier to deal with than the original one which just got in the way. The only reason I have not given it five stars is that I have only had it a short while and used it twice. If it lasts well, I wouldn’t hesitate to give it 5…… Recommended.

This charger comes with a 90 degree connector and a straight adaptor plug and is a genuine TomTom product.It is just what I wanted and well worth the money.
Apart from the product being good quality and long enough usb cable; I have Honda Civic and the wire has quite a long run from the windscreen where the Tom Tom is mounted but it easily reaches till the chaging point.
USB like attachement makes the kit even more worth while as I can use the same wire to attachh the Tom Tom to my laptop for updating the maps etc.
I have old Tom Tom with thicker end at one side and surprisingly neither Maplin nor Halfords had the old charger. All were with new thin pin. I was worried then that i will have to return this piece and what will I do with no charger. Another great example of Amamzon business sense is that they have sent the wire with old thick pin and a small USD attachement with new thin pin in case you have a new Tom Tom.
No wonder mostly amazon customers are the happy customers.
This product is exactly what you need! Real TomTom in the correct packaging. The charger is compact and due it to the USB connector can be used for multiple products. It charges my blackberry and ipod but appears to dislike my iphone. There is a small green light acknowledging the charger is on.
I use the product 5 or 6 days a week for a few hours and have had no problems the last 6 weeks. Should anything change I will amend my review.
