I had this game before but a pocket version. We’ve been playing it for hours x
Really pretty and nice to play with.
Good for children as the stones are small.
I liked the size of the board and the natural material. The child it was for has played the game several times and has become quite an expert at it. The only drawback was that that the pebbles/ counters are smaller than expected.
Bought as a Christmas present so don’t yet know how it will be received.
Presentable, well packed, can play with family, smaller than traditional one but OK.
Who knew that something so simple could be such fun. I highly recommend. It’s quick and extremely irritating in a good way!
Bought as a birthday gift and has become a popular choice of game to play from a family who play a lot of board games. Written instructions could have been a little clearer but we used YouTube video on how to play the game to enhance our understanding.
A great simple game & would recommend!
This item is easy to play , very handy . I like the different colours of the stones. It’s not good to play for big hands.
I bought a different mancala to start with which was not fit for purpose as the glass pebbles were huge and sent it back. I decided to buy this version of the game. It is a great little game, and lovely quality board. A couple of the stones are a little big but we use those first but you can get plenty of stone This game is easy to learn. The packing it good quality but could look a bit more stylish. So glad I bought this version of the game.
I bought this to play with my grandchildren. This is a well-made product in two halves which are hinged together to make it easy to pack up when travelling. In this game you use pieces which are all identical in shape and colour. The only down-side to this product is that the pieces are tiny wooden balls which are placed in cups scooped out of the wooden board. The balls in the cups are difficult to pick up with adult-size fingers.
There are many versions, and even names, for this fascinating mentally challenging game. What sets this one apart, as against some cheap and less than durable ones, are its professional finish and its fine attention to detail. All the finest games are essentially simple in concept, though invariably challenging to play well. This is a classic example. It is a joy to play, if sometimes unexpectedly frustrating, and teaches logical deduction in a most enjoyable way. It is suitable for young children – it can be played by using only some of the slots and colours – yet a challenge for adults. You may or may not wish to impose time limits on moves, though extra time rarely seems to provide greater success. One of the really fine games.
It is a nice board, good instructions. Beads are a little fiddly when in the dishes but I have fat fingers…
I got this for my 5 year old, she enjoys it.
I knew how to play prior to buying the game but if I hadn’t I think the instructions may confuse someone.
Other than that – great game and would recommend
Bought this to play while away with a friend, and we both really like it. Made from bamboo I chose it particularly because it was not plastic, and it conveniently folds in half with the bag of balls trapped inside. The balls are tiny and inclined to jump as you play but this in no way spoiled our enjoyment of the game. Simple and enjoyable
It’s nice. The pebbles are not as attractive as in the illustration and the bamboo was so rough I had to oil it but it’s value for money. I wish I had got the larger size though this is more of a travel se
Would be easier playing the game if the ‘seeds’ were pebble shaped, the round ball shaped ‘seeds’ easily fly out of the pods and your hands as you try to collect them.
Also, it would be better if the ‘seed’ bag was long and thin – then it would be possible to close the board with the ‘seeds’ (in their bag) inside the board. As it is now, the bag with the ‘seeds’ in has to be kept separate from the board.
Otherwise would have given 5*
