Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis saved the day when we moved into our flat and broadband couldn’t be installed for a couple of weeks. It’s so easy to use. Will come in handy as a hub when we travel too.

Bought this to use in my caravan on seasonal pitch. So far so good. Son can happily go on Xbox whilst I stream Netflix etc with no issues.
Just make sure you check the best network coverage for your area before you buy a sim for it.
In my case I went with Voxi (vodaphone) pay monthly but contract free.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have purchased this mobile wifi router to use on holiday in the caravan. I must say it is a little belter. It works really well and you can add 5 devices to it. It’s small enough to fit in your pocket and the battery life is good to excellent, I say that because I haven’t actually tried it for long yet, but on testing, it works very well indeed.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersBought this device to cover loss of home broadband (thank you so very much to Openreach). Inserted unlimited data SIM card, it works perfectly. Coverage up to about 15 metres, with reasonable signal still achievable at this distance. Has been in continuous use for over 2 months now (nice one Openreach) just kept plugged in to mains, no issue at all with device overheating, as I had read on a previous review. Will carry on using until fibre broadband is finally installed, could be a long time yet…

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSolid connection, easy to set up, decent instructions… recommended.

    Room for improvement:
    * lights for connection/battery etc are far too dim, not possible to see in daylight, difficult even in a bright room.
    * USB C charging would be nice. It uses micro USB, so in 2023 that usually means an extra cable/adapter to carry.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI wanted to be able to have a 4G mobile data backup for my FritzBox 7530 VDSL router for when the phoneline broadband fails. And I can confirm that it works perfectly. Just insert your chosen SIM card and connect to the USB port of the router using the supplied cable. Then set the router setting to use the 4G dongle as a failover backup device and you’re done.
The Fritzbox router settings are in: “Internet > Mobile network > Expanded Failover Protection.”
I set the TP-Link M7200 device settings to powersave mode so its WiFi turns off after 10 mins. as I don’t need to use that at all except for setting it up to begin with.
Note: If your router and TP-Link M7200 device are set to use the same IP address mask I think 192.168.0.1 was the default for the TP-Link M7200) you can easily change the “0” to any other 3 digit number that istn’t the same as your current network IP address. I can’t remember precisely where it was in the TP-Link settings, but it wasn’t hard to find.
One tiny little bug I did find – When I set the delay for the wifi to turn off automatically in power save mode to 1440 minutes (24hrs) I found that the wifi couldn’t be turned back on with the power button. With it set to the default 10 min. delay it works as it should.
All in all I’m delighted with how it works for me.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’d read reviews/guides re mifi routers and decided to go for a data only sim and cancel broadband when costs were going up too much. Wasn’t sure it would be able to cope but it’s been perfect for our needs. Incredibly easy to set up and the app is handy too. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersNever ventured into mobile hot spots before but moving and needed somethig reliable. I read the reviews and was impressed. It was inexpensive so did not have anything to loose. Of all the tech I have I love this unasuming bit of plastic the most. It connects to the internet fautlessly and I have never had a moments problem with this wonderful device. Well done to its maker and designer.

Bought this to replace a n Aircard which had failed. Used whilst touring in caravan plus on trips abroad with a couple of different sims it really has worked well, connected to all of our phones, ads and streaming via fire stick it works extremely well. Very pleased with this purchase and its performance to date.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersInstructions are lacking, but the device links up with my chosen sim card and provides reasonably fast internet in a rural area. Very easy to modify and the settings don’t change, even if you change out your sim card from pay-as-you-go to pay monthly contract. The back is difficult to open; I use a blunt, thin object (nail clipper lever) to open it if the sim card needs changing.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI decided to give this a go because I had enough of our expensive but unreliable home broadband I paid 40 a month for.
I now use an unlimited data sim for 18 a month and have better connection than ever.
An additional plus is that it is mobile and can be carried during holidays.

I bought this to replace an older dongle that I’d had for ten years and you can see how time has improved the technology. This one has a much faster download speed and a much longer battery life.

I use it for Netflix, you tube,Spotify and general internet surfing both at home and out and about. Never failed to find a signal.

    Highly recommended

Bought this to take to Tunisia with the intention of purchasing a SIM locally, as it was way too expensive to use our UK mobiles.

Inserted an “Orange” sim with 100gb of data purchased locally and it worked perfectly with speeds of up to 50gb!

Fully charged in less than an hour, with 3 devices linked to it in 30 degree heat, the battery lasted a minimum of 9 hours (05:30-14:30) every day. The device did get a little warm, but this was probably due to working hard in the ambient temperature

All in all, a great buy when travelling and needing to buy a data SIM locally. Highly recommend.

I have purchased this along with a 24GB Tree Pre Paid SIM. I have not used it yet but it is setup. My First test will be when my home Broadband gets upgraded so no service for possibly 24Hrs. I purchased this mainly for travel, a bit of a gamble but hopefully this will work for me in France. I have not had to use Tech Support hence the score.

I use this mifi at home and take it with me on holiday and use it in my touring caravan. However at home needs to be near a window and in the caravan near a roof ventilation window because difficult to get a signal from outside to inside. Runs all my devices including television laptops and mobile phones.

This works well for my uses and although a little larger than others, unlike those other makes it has a replaceable battery rather than a built in immovable one.
Yes it is a great little useful gadget to take with you wherever you go for instant 4G internet.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this to provide a wifi hotspot in the car so that the dashcam parking mode had an internet connection to notify me in event of an impact, but sadly the battery only lasts about 8 hours so it won’t work for me. As a hotstpot in general though, it’s excellent and very easy to set up. The battery life is the norm and if you want more you’ll have to spend significantly more money.
In summary, a good unit and just not suitable for my specific purpose.
UPDATE: I forked out for a power bank to connect to this and now I have a hotspot in the car that lasts for almost 10 days and the peace of mind I was looking for. Or I would have if it didn’t keep disconnecting client devices after a few minutes of inactivity! No matter what settings I used to counter this, it still kept happening and rather than go through the hassle of contacting technical support and working on it, I had regretfully to return it for a refund, and set about trying something else. Good little unit, just not suitable for my purposes.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersOnly tried in the UK so far but between my Smarty & EE data only sims I have not had a problem with coverage. The battery lasts for well over a typical working day (campervan life) and can be charged via the mains or vehicle power. It was easy to set up and I have had no reason to contact the tech support hence why I cannot rate the support. I will be taking this to the EU very soon.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought this for a long summer in France. Adding a SIM card (Free – the company, not the price – gives 210GB for 20/month) was dead simple and I generally leave it plugged into the USB charger and forget about it.

When no plugged in the battery lasts, I’d say, about eight hours.

It picks up 4G from almost everywhere we’ve been (including very rural spots) and gives a good wifi signal most of the time. Just occasionally, it will stop for some reason and you might need to log back into to the app on your phone to restart things – but this takes seconds. Great value for money so far (three months).

This was easy to set up. Easy to use. STrong signal with clear instructions and display that shows you how much data you have left.
Brilliant solution to running out of phone data when in the EU.
It’s small and takes any sim from any provider so you’re not locked into a contract with someone. Been able to stream movies too. Very pleased.

Bought this mobile router to use with this Sim https://amzn.to/3NLqUcL. To be honest I bought the sim direct from Sancom but this gives good unlimited Wi-Fi for 8.33 a month. I use it so I can have a ring camera in my car amongst other things. The range is great but the battery only lasts 8 hours so some kind of power train is required if leaving it in constantly. All in all a nice bit of ki

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThis 4G mifi device is ideal for travelling, especially as a couple or family with several devices, and you want to avoid horrendous roaming data rates. It’s very pocketable and portable and of sturdy construction.

It takes a full sized SIM card (adaptors are included). Just get a local SIM card for the country you’re travelling to (or one with good rates there), make sure it’s activated (if the mobile network activation requires making a phone call, you will need to do this with another phone first as this device can’t make voice calls), connect to the WiFi access point with the details on the sticker and you’re ready to go.

The TPMiFi app is pretty good – which you can use when you’re connected to the device. It’s pretty modern design and easy enough to use (though some of the features might a bit hidden ). You can throttle individual devices which might be handy to ensure little Jonny doesn’t use all of your data by watching hundreds of slightly different 4K baby shark remixes. You can change the WiFi signal strength to eek a bit more out of the battery. You can also view SMSs received too.

The battery was the only part which was a little disappointing. It’s removable (big plus as it makes it very repairable in theory), but in areas with less 4G signal (e.g. rural areas) it can drain quite quickly especially when using lots of data. However, it can operate whilst being charged – so you can pair it with a USB power bank (like an Anker PowerCore) to stay connected longer.

Overall, thoroughly worth the modest investment if you use it even just for a couple of trips abroad.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersIf 4G is strong enough this will provide a solid reliable network for multiple devices. Got a 130GB SIM for streaming onto TV in caravan and it’s worked very well. Much cheaper than some solutions but does what’s needed

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis is just what I needed! We are currently staying in rented accommodation for approx 6 months and the only internet offers ic ould find online were 12month minimum contract. So I thought I’d give this a shot instead. I’ve paired it with a Lebara unlimited internet usage SIM. Both my partner and I work from home and this runs the internet perfectly without any issues throughout the day. We do move the router about the house depending on where we are to improve service (e.g. for TV in the evening we bring it downstairs). The charge is impressive and it’s easy to monitor via the app so you can plug it in and continue using it when the battery gets low.
Initial set up for the SIM is a bit annoying but if you download the tpMiFi app first you can view text messages received by the SIM there (would have saved me 30mins had I know this). Cannot praise this piece of kit enough. Definitely worth the money and the fact you can take it out with you into the garden, away on holiday etc just makes it even more useful! Full marks from me.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI decided to try this after moving house instead of getting broadband installed as I move around a lot and don’t want the hassle of waiting for installation + you can get cheeper SIM cards.

I was impatient and did not have a data only sim so set up took a while as I had to set up a normal sim on my phone then move the sim to the device – but once I had set up the sim the device set up was easy.

I immediately set my Alexa up as that’s what I was most looking forward to doing playing music in my new home.

I unexpectedly went into hospital the following day and luckily slipped the device in my pocket early that day and it was a life saver to entertain myself and stay in touch. The device is light small and sleek.

The only comment I have is that I wish I bought the longer battery life device. The battery lasts as advertised however is not long enough for me. You could however just make sure you have the short cord on you as well as a small charging device to be safe.

Overall I am amazed at the speed and happy I chose this device.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent speed - life saver unexpected hospital visi

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersThe good thing is that, well, it works. I got an iD Mobile SIM, it worked ok with the TP. I have used it in hotels, on travel, in conferences etc. It needs a USB socket for power, I’d rather it has its own power plug. Another thing is that the display stays on for about 20 seconds; every little you got to touch the button to get the display. There is no indication that the device is on. So it’s so easy to forget that it is still on, when you mean to turn it off. Where there is no traffic through it, I think it will power itself off after some duration. Haven’t tested that enough to be sure.

There is an app for the TP; it gives a better interface, but does not much more beyond what functions are available on the interface on the TP.

There is an interesting thing, a good thing, which is that if you plug the USB cable in to your computer, it will be recognised on the computer as a LAN connection, plus you can still connect to TP on wifi. The LAN is better than WIFI on reliability and performance. This will be handy when the storage card (SD Card) is used, but I haven’t tried that.

Because my iD Mobile is unlimited data, I am not so concerned about accuracy of display on the TP about data usage.
