I purchased this lovely cable and was impressed with its quality. While I discovered that to achieve 144Hz on my LG monitor via HDMI, I had to disable Freesync, the cable itself is excellent. It has a nice braided design, is of good length, and feels well-made. I have always trusted Ugreen products and have never been disappointed with them.
The cable seems to be fine from my eARC Sony tv to the sound bar but there is just one thing that is niggling me.
How do I know its what I purchased which was 2.1,having never dealt with this cable befor.
There is no where on the packaging or on the cable to say its 2.1.
On the rear of the packet it has “UGREEN HDMI Cable Support 8K Resolution (2m) New”
no mention f 2.1?
Arrives nicely packed in a product bag with a few information leaflets inside.
Although it’s not Vesa Certified, so I can’t tell you for sure if it works in all the circumstances it’s supposed to, I can tell you it’s a really lovely cable. Although it’s thick, It’s actually quite flexible. Very nice looking. Inspires confidence. The crazy thing is that it’s not at all expensive.

What a quality cable. I recently purchased a 4K OLED TV, and hooked up various devices to the TV such as an Xbox Series S, a PS5 and a 4K Blu-Ray Player. I purchased three cables for said devices, and each worked like an absolute charm. The Xbox and PlayStation show the cables as capable of everything the two consoles can offer. 4K 60fps, 4K 120fps, absolutely everything is covered with these cables. Braided cable solid too.
Purchased a bunch of these to make the cabling behind my TV a little more consistent, I’ve used cables plenty of times from this brand and have never had a single issue (network, HDMI, DP etc).
I like the finish of the cables, the woven style makes them look neat and they are well protected.
Performance wise they are great, nothing majorly different in terms of picture or sound quality, however they were replacing high quality cables to start with.
They handle all the content I’ve tried; 4k Blu Ray, 3D Blu Ray (with my old LG OLED TV), Dolby 7.2 + Atmos stuff, Netflix and Amazon UHD content, Sony PS5. I’m not an avid gamer but it was the PS5 which more likely caused “glitter noise” with my previous “UHD” cable. No issues at all with these.
I only run short lengths 0.5m – 2m. The 0.5m ones can be a right pain if the cable has ultra stiff sleeving – these braided ones are perfectly “loose” and guidable so no strain on the HDMI sockets at all.
Solid all round performers at a thoroughly fair price. Highly recommended!
Cable is thicker but somewhat malleable so it won’t awkwardly push against things when plugged in, I find some brands cables always want to go into the hdmi connector the wrong way and don’t want to “twist” around to do so, resulting in a lot of tension on the connector itself.
Time will tell if it lasts but so far so good.
It is shocking that Sony charges you so much and provides you with a cable that gets easily beaten by a cheap third party one, like this… Anyway, recommended to all PS5 gamers!
It’s a great cable, functions perfectly, however, as it is braided, it is a lot stiffer than its rubber counterparts so it can be a bit fiddly to get it plugged in or coiled up.
Ugreen cables are always good I found and I’ve never had an issue with them connect between items and this is no different, quality cables are always work the investme
Remember, HDMI is a digital signal. You will either gain a picture or you won’t. A cable won’t make the image shaper or clearer so I now suggest going cheap and cheerful and getting the UGREEN cable. It works identically as a certified cable and in this economy, a 40 difference per cable is a lot to justify just to gain a sticker.
I replaced with this cable and I’ve not experienced that issue once.
