Bought this for work, wasn’t sure how well it would work. Needed to get a tablet of phone onto the internet without WiFi. I work in plant rooms so puggled it into a network switch in the control panel via a LAN cable and bingo instant internet. No setting up, or faffing about installing software etc. Just plugged it in my Galaxy S21 or the works tablet and away you go. Does what it says without any issues, if only dealing with phones, computers etc were as easy.
Purchased to connect an OBD-2 ethernet adapter to my phone for a car programming app. Works fine, also tested with ethernet to USB for a laptop internet connection.
Fast, plug and play, let me connect my Macbook easily to the wired network at the office.
I rarely need to connect my MacBook to a hardwired connection, but use it when needing to connect to a different admin subnet that is not broadcast via wifi. Does what its supposed to do with speeds aligned to my other hardwired connections.
Worked fine out of the box with new macbook pro m2
Got this to give my Mac a wired network connection. Totally plug and play and works perfectly.
Feels sturdy and solid, feels like quality. No cheap plastic. Works as expected.
This adapter cuts out a few times a day and takes a while to allow me to connect again. Not helpful for someone who works from home that requires a consistent wired connection – it meant I got kicked out of important meetings in the middle of my work day. Easy to set up at least.
If I hadn’t bought this so long before I started using it I would be sending it back
I tried a number of different ones, this is the only adapter so far that has worked without random disconnections and without overheating, in fact it’s barely above room temperature in use.
I work in IT and this is a great interface for my phone/tablet which enables me to browse a network and connect to the Interne
Just got this after my last one (Different make) seemed to stop working was not sure at first if it wa down to my internet having issues but bit the bullet and bought this one it was not the internet it was my old adapter never had issues with this in the past and only use it now and again if the WIFI slows down
tried the old one yesterday and I was down to around 120mbs yet wifi was giving me around 400 mbs
Just tried the new Ugreen adaptor and its now running back to full speed giving me just under the 1 Gig
Simple plug and play on a mac just asked if I wanted to accept new hardware and that was it good to go
So its a 5 stars from me at the mome
I don’t have home broad band so I use my phone as a hotspot. I need to download some plugins for my Akai MPC One but the unit only has an ethernet connector. So I purchased this and a rhinocables CAT6 High-Speed Gigabit Ethernet Patch Network Cableand they both worked perfectly to transfer files to my MPC One.
I’ve found that having this wired connection from my MacBook to my router makes uploading and downloading from internet faster than wi-fi. (May be obvious to some, but I didn’t know this before.)
Nice bit of kit. Plug in and play – easy. Even I, not very technical, could do this.
Plug and play, extremely simple to install (ethernet cable in, connects to a computer with a USB C port), works very well, does exactly what it is expected to do (connection to internet directly from cable is faster than through WiFi), good value for money. Totally satisfied.
This was bought to replace a more complex USB-C hub (with HDMI, LAN and USB ports with no ‘activity’ LEDs for ethernet). The old kept failing because it doesn’t plug securely to the USB-C port and could be moved around by the springiness of the network cable plugged to it. It also got very hot.
In contrast, this U-Green device almost feels like it latches into place, it’s that secure. The activity LEDs quickly start to indicate what’s going on, and the laptop swings straight over to using it for wired ethernet. The network cable does not succeed in unplugging it from the USB-C port.
This is a complete success and imo it pays to keep these USB-C devices simple and not be too ‘greedy’ with what facilities you expect to see presented all at the same time. Incidentally it doesn’t even feel warm in use.
This product gets my recommendation.
Having had a hell of a time with a Belkin usb-c to Ethernet adapter sold on the Apple Store I decided to go with this U-Green version.
Ugreen replied to my query if it works with M1 MacBooks and they weren’t wrong. It works straight out of the box with no drivers needed and at 1GBps Speed. Great price and although only used 3 times so far I really hope it lasts for many years to come.
Cheers All
Bought this in a pinch when I had to have a stable internet connection and my WiFi could be dodgy. Easy to use – just plug in and work on a MacBook Air 2018 Retina. Had stable connection throughout when using. My WiFi when it’s stable works well. I didn’t actually get any higher speeds than when using WiFi, but I know that I’m NOT in the norm.
Unlike all the poor buggers having to buy this so their Macbooks can have a wired internet connection I bought it to plug into my phones USB-C slot so I can plug it into any network port, router, cable or switch in my house and use it as mobile hand held internet speed tester (while using the Ookla speed test app). This makes it very easy to narrow down what part of an internet connected network is causing slow speeds in the event of any speed issues without having to wait for an engineer to come out and diagnose it. My current connection is just under 600Mbps and this adapter handled that just fine so I have no doubt that it would also handle the advertised 1Gbps speed as well.
I bought the UGREEN USB-C adaptor for my new MacBook pro M1 as it doesn’t have a ethernet port built in. It works out of the box with Big Sur and provides the throughput capable of keeping up with my 1Gb internet connection. Aesthetically it looks good and matches my MacBook, it seems rugged and well made. I am a happy customer, would recommend.
At last I can operate my laptop in my workshop. It’s hard wired for a Cnc machine but no wireless for the laptop.
Studied all sorts of solutions including using an additional router and some complicated software changes. But in the end put it ‘on the back burner’ ( another too difficult a job).
My ASU’s VivoBook laptop is so thin they omitted an outlet. so couldn’t hard wire it.
But buying this item I can now use both laptop AND iPad on the internet now in the workshop! Jus bought a second. Arrived in under 24 hours as well.
Excelle
Bought hoping it would be able to get much improved internet for my Amazon Fire HD tablet. Despite Ugreen Representative being very helpful it unfortunately didn’t work. However it worked with my Samsung A51 phone and I was able to tether my tablet to my phone and now my wi-fi on both is perfect. Using a ethernet cable plugged into my wi-fi localised hub.
I’ve used a couple of Ugreen products before and each time they’ve been a straight plug & play experience on MacOS Catalina, which is exactly what you want for a simple adapter.
Prior to this connector I was using a Lenovo C506, which has three USB type A ports and an RJ45. The network port stopped working after a while, most likely after an OS update.
Cheekily if a connector is capable of speeds over 100Mb it can be called a Gigabit connector (or so I’ve been told). I haven’t done any peak performance testing but I can confirm that 600Mb works fine (which is the highest I can test with my setup). The connection is also about as secure as you can get with USB-C; I’ve experienced no issues with connectivity and no problems with the connector falling out.
I’m really pleased overall.
It’s not often I give a 5 start to items, however this took me by surprise. I tied it in my Note 8 phone, it worked straight out of the box, the speed difference was surprisingly fast. Not tested on my new windows tablet as it’s arriving over next few days, but if the phone is anything to go by then i’m expecting it to be fast.
In the box is the unit itself along with the instructions and a mini cd-rom, so if the drivers are needed then you have everything needed. I’ve been building and repairing computers, phones and tablets for over 20yrs now, and I am always testing items like these out, this one comes out on top so far.
I would highly recommend this unit.
