Bought this for my farther as his Speedo wasn’t working and waiting for replacement parts. But this is now a permanent feature because it’s bright and easy to read. Would definitely recommend
Works well good value. Only downside is the sticky pad supplied didn’t stick to my dashboard so had to use own tape.
Pleased with it easy to use and see
Will try to remedy it with some glue or strong tape.
The other one in another car is working fine without any issues. You will need to enlarge the photo to see the issue.
Have a import car so it’s in kph works really well so pleased to have it as I’ve been on the motorway now a couple of times. Use this as my guide when doing a journey.
I thought it might be helpful to others to mention that I am not finding a lot of the problems that other reviews have listed. I have it mounted on my dash and I find it rarely loses GPS signal. It has a large clear display of your speed, and other values displayed smaller. The odometer only displays when stationary, it flicks between time and odometer reading. I find this a useful little tool that does the job for good money.
This DOES NOT have OBD II, and is fully reliant on its in built GPS. On start up, it can take up to 20 seconds to connect (as shown by a dash flashing across the screen) but usually connects in about 10. This device DOES NOT project onto the windscreen.
Please note that it requires constant USB power connection at all times (does not have a chargeable battery), and works with cars inbuilt USB port, 12v cigarette port –> USB adapter and power banks.
The stand it comes with is not great. The sticky base won’t stick to anything for long, and a slight tap it will fall over. I have bought a 2nd phone holder (the 8 one from Halfords) and that holds it just fine, and it hasn’t fallen out, even going over bumpy roads in UK (whereas the stand barely got off the drive before falling over).
Overall if you’re looking for a dashboard speedometer, I would highly recommend this. Though as mentioned, I’d suggest looking for other mounting options.
This speedometer is easy to install but requires an adaptor with a USB port to plug into the car’s 12V socket. I bought it because my car’s own speedometer has developed an intermittent fault. It’s not quite as reliable as stated and consistently reads 1-3 mph less than the actual speed (mostly 3 mph less) but provided allowance is made for this, it serves the purpose well.
Does not connect to cigarette port, only usb. Good value. Rattles a bit on its stand.
Stabilised it with a little blue tack placed on under side between device and facia top. Sounds crude but cures problem. Squawks to warn you you are exceeding your selected speed. Keeps you on your toes.
Only thing i found is lack of instructions re use it flashes 888 when you turn the car on and keeps doing it until ( i asume ) it finds the satalites then it gives speed .
So when first powered up in the house i thought it was faulty . But now i know, it works great .
