Can’t go wrong with a classic game for family nights. My family loves to play this and is a fun change up to our normal scrabble game. Came with everything described and good quality.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBuying new games can be hit and miss but this game is amazing. I love it! The gameplay is always exciting and fun and it’s one of the games I always go back to and one of my first choices.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersQuality pieces, good price, fun to play. I like that the board spins around like the regular scrabble game I have. My first upwards game, when it came out years ago, did not have that function. It is a nice upgrade.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWe are all addicted to this game over here. This is so much better than scrabble and so much more fun. I play this often with an excited 8 year old as we learn how to spell and how to manipulate words. My 5 year old and I play as he’s learning his letter sounds and is just learning to read, and we just make up funny words. But my husband and I really enjoy it as well. Highly recommend!! For all ages.

We purchased this game after watching our neighbors play it. What a fun time we’ve had! My spouse and I don’t keep score, but we do feel as though it really keeps your brain active while playing. We enjoy it so much, we take it with us whenever we travel. Fun for all ages!

Very good game, more strategic than scrabble. Good quality overall though the turquoise parts are opaque, not translucent as shown in the image. Rotating board works well and is handy. Bit disappointed in the glorified plastic sandwich bag included for the letters and the weird font making the letters different sizes and off centre. Overall would recommend.

I was surprised that this product appears brand new – I was expecting a good vintage one at the price! The twirling board makes play much easier when there are more than two playing, being able to see the board clearly is important. The tiles have tiny pegs at each corner, slotting firmly into holes in the board, and they stack up quite firmly – I have played on an older game where the tiles got nudged out of place easily.
My husband and I enjoyed our first game and now look forward to playing a new game with our grandsons (11&8) in the school holidays.

On our first crack at this game, we thought we could stack letters to create new words even if the adjacent/connecting words are affected. But we realized that we can only stack letters to create new, valid words and that the stacked letter does not change or create a weird adjacent or connecting word.
Scoring is simple. You get 2 points for each tile in a word you create, 1 point on stacked letters (1 point for 1 stacked letter, 2 points for 2 stacked letters, 3 for 3 stacked tiles, etc) The components are sturdy and the stacked tiles don’t fall off. In fact before buying this game I was afraid that the stacked tiles would fall off and lead to awkward handling, so I posted my question on Amazon. Out of the 7 who answered, 6 said the tiles don’t fall off because they have tiny pegs that clasp to the tile. I don’t know why 1 person answered “yes, they fall”. But rest assured they don’t. We’ve played it 3 times already and we’re very happy with this purchase. Strong buy (if you like word games).

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe do not like the new design. Tiles are difficult to get on board, hard to see how many are stacked. Tray sits on a round stand so board can turn. Cheaply made. Previous board was a stery plastic.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIn this time of technology it is fun to step away and play an old-fashioned game. It’s kind of like scrabble except you can stack letters up to 5 high, changing the words. It’s a great game for all ages. Be careful – it can be addictive! I gave this as gifts to my team at work. Good price for lots of fun.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersUnlike Scrabble, this game lets you change a word (or words) that are already on the board by ‘stacking’ letters from your rack onto letters that have been played. Scoring is way different too. Letters in a word without other stacked letters are worth 2 pts each. If there are stacked letters in the word they’re worth 1 pt each…..but you get to count all the previously stacked letters in the word also. (I hope I’m describing this correctly.)

There are no blanks. There is a ‘Qu’ tile, not Q by itself as in Scrabble. Leftover tiles at the end of the game…..5 pnt penalty per letter.

The pieces themselves are interlocking to the board and to each other to keep them in place, and the board is on a ‘lazy susan’ type of rotating frame.

    Try it. You’ll like it!

I bought this to play with my dad, who suffers from dementia. It was a good choice because it is easier than Scrabble, but still challenging enough to enjoy. The board has ridges that hold the tiles in place once they are played, so they don’t move around on the board, which is very helpful.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love word games, but dislike the slow pace and complicated score keeping of Scrabble. My friends I LOVE Bananagrams. All of us also love this game! I was introduced to this game this summer, and immediately I ordered one for myself. I like that a game concludes relatively quickly, the lazy Susan style board is very nice, the scoring is very simple, and the unpredictable, unplannable nature of the game is very interesting. Like Bananagrams, it’s also a great and fun learning tools for children. Highly recommended for people of all ages. And the price? So surprised that it was inexpensive. A score!

This is our second copy of this game – this edition has more letters and slightly larger board, so this makes it better for groups to play. Rotating board makes it easy to read from all positions. More fun than Scrabble, challenging for all ages!

My husband is really good at Scrabble so I knew he would like this game. It’s great with just two people or 4 people. It has different strategies. Only thing to note is we had to draw a line under the Z because it looked the same as the N turned around.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchased Upwords as a Father’s Day gift for my dad who LOVES all word games. We played scrabble all the time growing up then added bananagrams when that came out. Upwords has a unique take on the spelling/words games by making it three dimensional. It was challenging and novel and most importantly a huge hit with my dad! Anything that gets the whole family to take their eyes off of screens is a winner in my book! I think it would also be great for younger kids who are still learning how to spell as you play off of existing words.

fun game just like scrabble but 3d. seems to be well made except for a couple of pieces that do not fit properly, they are supposed to lock onto the board to prevent movement but it does not sit flush. I like that the board can spin to each player without the pieces getting all out of position.

This is much more fun than scrabble and easier to play for all the family. It is much more compact than the original upwords game so much easier to store and take with you.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI used to play this gave over 20 years ago and have talked about buying it again for a long time and finally did. The game itself is great and super fun. We are Scrabble players so this is a nice change. The turntable and game board is kind of cheaply made. For anyone who had the original this is no where near as high quality. The biggest complaint I have is tiles of letters that look the same when your change the orientation are not marked. For example M and W or N and Z. You cannot tell them apart so we had to mark ourselves. The game itself is very fun and for $17 well worth the hours of play you get out of it.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI have 2 kids who have the mental capacity play this game….relatively…a 9 and a 6 year old. While, at least one of them, aren’t great at forming new words with the letters given, with some help, he does a pretty good job overall. It’s a great little game to play as a family and I like how they can stack tiles and change the words without always having to add new words. My only qualm (and this goes for most games in general) is you would think the game would fit back into the box right? Well, it does but it’s a bit bulky and the lid doesn’t go on all the way. If the box was made like an inch or 2 thicker, it would t be a problem. Otherwise, great game!
