Purchased for my log burner. Magnet works well even though only half is used ad it would stick to my stainless steel flu.
Appears to be accurate and can clearly see the needle from a distance.
The product arrived in good time but was not packed well ! This product is an instrument and I expected that it would have been more carefully packed.
I have not used the product yet as we are still in summer.
Looks nice and easy to read works well on our log burne
Got this on the stove pipe and its ideal to know how hot stuffs getting as if it gets too hot it could warp the baffle plate sooner rather than later.
Turns out our flue isn’t the right metal, so magnetic feature doesn’t work.
Flimsy stand so it keeps falling over.
This is another must have item if you have a log burner, better than 2nd guessing if you are burning logs at the right temperature
Seems to work but I haven’t compared it for accuracy. The magnetic aspect is great.
This is just what I wanted having recently had a log burner fitted and having no experience of fire apart from cremating sausages occasionally. This let’s me know when I’m in the sweet spot and helps me be economic with my wood too.
With a recent log burner install, I was given a ‘free’ gift of a similar item the magnet of which was poor.. darn thing kept sliding out of position and became annying. After looking through a number of these devices available I found this one.. in the same price range as many of the others but, the photos suggested a bigger magnet (Most others did not show the magnet at all). Item arrived as promised, the following day.. and tried it on the flue and a powerful thud firmlt fixed it to the flue. It will not slide!. Have tried a burn with it and the temperature indication is consistent with the former, crap magnet one. The accuracy is not getting tested scientifically, but sufficient to use the ‘best burn’ zone, clearly indicated by a red band. Would endorse this product as a decent and worthwhile purchase.
Sticks well to the stove pipe. Easy to see when you are in the optimal burn area and then you know you can chuck anything on and it will keep going. Drop below and it might not combust. Too high and I needed to open the door to let some heat out. Excellent accessory for the woodburne
Easy to read temperature at a distance, good strong magnet for attaching.
Used to see how different types of fuel burn.works very well.would recomend to anyone.
This is nice to look at and useful. Attach it to the side of your log burner (the magnet will do that for you) and watch to see if you’re putting too many logs on. Recommend!
Looks good, but more importantly it is very accurate at showing when you’re up to temperature. Really is spot on.
When the arrow is at 12 o’clock it’s burning clean and not raging like a Furness
I was going to upgrade to a Warpfive but I don’t think I’ll bother. It works so well
I recently bought a log burner for the first time and decided that to help me operate it it would be good to know what the temperature is as this is key to obtain a clean efficient burn.
This a very simple temperature sensor that is magnetic and just sticks to the top of the burner that indicates the temperature in degrees C and in F, but importantly, has a green zone that indicates the temperature region for the best burn. Using the temperature gauge I have been able to work out the combination of fuel and air mix that enables a stable heat output alongside a efficient consumption of fuel.
This is a simple inexpensive device that if used properly will help you run your log burner more efficiently and will save you a lot of expense on fuel. Highly recommended.
..I have no way to measure the accuracy, I’m assuming it’s fairly accurate but as long as it’s consistent that will do. I can gauge whether the stove is heating up or cooling down and gives me a rough guide of the temp range which the stove manufacturers suggest is the range to operate the stove in.
Great looking design, works reliably (i hope) and is easy to read albeit you have to get within a couple of metres. Seems to give a consistent reading of flue temperatures that allow me to burn the stove efficiently. My wife got the stove too hot the other day, and just before I collapsed from heat exhaustion i read the gauge (which confirmed it was too hot) and I managed to reduce the heat before any damage was done to the stove. I should be out of hospital any day now.
Bought this as due to high fuel costs I wanted to check if too much fuel was being put into the stove and it just gives a bit of help maintaining a constant temperature without over feeding the stove. My only slight gripe is that I can’t read the gauge from a short distance due to the colours. I could have got red and maybe that would have helped but it is only a slight gripe, overall I’m more than happy and a good price too.
Think this makes you more paranoid (or it may just be me) I always tend to throw a few more logs on as I like the whole crackling fire look. so managed to send the needle right round, which I have probably done every time I have had the fire going without knowing. the problem therefor comes when your other half thinks you’re going to burn the house down when she sees the temperature…
Works great as intended however
*update* This magnetic thermometer will not stick to stainless steel flue’s as I found out reading the small print instructions on box, however see photos that show the device bolted to flue section as pictures show on my review.
A simple mod.

I’ve been using this since late September 2016 and am very pleased with it.
It came in a fairly easy to open card and plastic box with some basic instructions.
A gauge such as this is essential if you want to get the best value for money from your fuel, get maximum heat potential into your house and more importantly avoid damage to your burner. I also have it for another reason and that is because I have two fans on top of my burner, pushing heat into the room from a recessed into the fireplace multi fuel burner. These fans are powered by the heat generated at the top of the burner and if that heat exceeds 300c it can damage them.
The gauge attaches to your burner with a substantial magnet, there is zero chance of it dropping off! I tried it in various locations finally settling on the base of the flue where it joins the burner. There appears to be little, if any, variance in temperature no matter where you fit it. My main reason for locating where I have is that there is less chance of it getting knocked and damaged. That isn’t to say that the gauge is badly made or flimsy but for fairly obvious reasons the gauge indicator arm cannot be covered easily so it is exposed on the face. I initially located it on the front above the burner door but found it was getting caught by the logs.
It is a good looking addition to your burner and I have found that I am now in ‘control’ of the burner and as a result am using slightly less fuel (logs).
There are other gauges available but I feel for the price and build quality this one is a winner for me and I would have no problem recommending this to family and friends.
