Purchased for my boyfriend as he has gotten back into shooting. Perfect resting for his rifle whilst he plays with his Pistol, happy knowing the rifle is secure and safe.
If you are after a simple and portable small tripod this is great. I’m big so the height range works well for me, but the lowest point might be high for some when it comes to benchrest shooting.
This is a good bit of equipment . I use this for my three air rifles it’s better and easier than a bipod,a very sturdy and strong rifle rest and I use it for a pistol as well,so a very useful tool.
This looks a great bit of kit and it is , held the rifle well . Only thing I’m disappointed with is that they are not fixed legs , they actually spread right out instead of giving any height.
Such a well-thought-out design, and so well engineered. This is a far better shooting aid than the barrel-mounted bipod I’ve tried and the stock-mounted bipod I have on another gun. It is a perfect solution for springer air rifles! I love it.
Used for zeroing and static target shooting with my Sauer 100 6.5mm Creedmoor rifle after trying bags (too heavy and fixed height) and bipods (fixed to front swivel point which was eventually pulled out of the fore end).
Very stable in use and easily adjustable to accommodate the height of different bench/seat combinations.
Non-damaging to the rifle, the rest seems to be well constructed and durable. For the price (I paid ~45) I think it is stunning value for money.
I only wish I had found it years ago.
If the makers ever produce a saddle rest accessory as an alternative to the bag, I will certainly buy that too.
Use this down the gun range,it’s a great bit of kit, Saves drilling holes in your beloved gun putting pods on, it’s really sturdy and very clever engineering,so easy to adjust ,improved my shooting
I’m always watching the pennies, so was unsure about paying this much. Good, solid stand. I use it to shoot .303 out to 100yds. Doesn’t wobble, gives you a good range of height (if you shoot prone etc), I didn’t want it too lightweight anyway, and you can either use the velcro strap to secure your weapon, or attach it to a bag or such. Good product.
This item is a mid range item at a mid range price.
I think that it is absolutely ideal for someone like me who is returning to shooting, is not interested in hunting, but loves firing an air rifle at targets up to and including 55 metres.
So what do you get? A sturdy tripod based gun rest, which will be more than adequate to use as a bench rest or for firing in the prone position. I have thre rifles, a Gamo whisper sting, an FAC Weirauch 80K, both of which being break barrel rifles are not really suited to fittinga bipod, on the other hand, this rest, with its v shaped pillow is ideal. My other rifle is an S400, soon to be replaced with a BSA CLX. I don’t like bipods in use or to fit and therefore this rest suits me for bench or ground when in the prone position. Firing the Gamo is fairly straightforward, but the Weirauch at 18+ft lbs is a different rifle altogether and whilst it’s weight helps control the power this rest is a fantastic aid to support a powerful “springer”.
Build quality is excellent, the aluminium tripod legs when opened offer a degree of resistance, but more importantly offer a very steady, indeed rigid, rest. The pillow itself is well filled and whilst I tend not to use the velcro fastening for the “springer” I do for the PCP and it holds the stock and barrel nicely. I particularly like the single handed height adjuster, which is smooth, but when the adjuster ring is dropped into place holds the gun firmly locked and exactly where you set it.
Far far far better than a bag in my view and well worth 44.99.
I had been using a home made bean bag to support my air rifle (a Remington Express XP .22) whilst zeroing it ready for use. I damaged the plastic cover of my bean bag very easily, and to be honest, it was too low for comfort which didn’t help accurate shooting. The rifle rest is very easy to set up, pull out the legs, raise to a good height and fire. I managed to hit the targets straight away and got good groupings. Once zeroed most shots got onto the target in a good group in the centre of the target. As much as I enjoy target shooting, my main quarry is the high number of rats seen recently. This week I have despatched 5, which I don’t think I would have done without this support. It is quite neat and I can fit it into my rifle bag.
