Arrived on time, works well, impressed with the heat provided,,ease of use and longevity of heat, handy to be able to recharge heat whilst still in bed, would recommend
Bought this for one of my parents who was in hospital and was not allowed to fill a traditional hot water bottle. Loved the product and easy to use! Heats up quickly and lasts long enough too.
This is a brilliant thing ,was bought for my 92yr old mum who really feels the cold ,she absolutely loves it so does my daughter and grandkids to the point mum bought one of them for my youngest grandson lol.cant fault i
Best thing ever and as a woman, best for the time of the month
This was a birthday present for my cousin who suffers with pains. She has found it to be so helpful and even takes it to bed where one of the uses is around her sore neck
This is great for elderly relative, no worries about over charging self cut off after 15 min. Retains heat for a long time.
No more heating to the perfect temperature or worrying about filling the small hole with hot water that may splash.
Heats up to the perfect temperature in 5 minutes.
No getting out of bed if it goes cold.
Retains the heat well.
Saves on gas bill!
Bought this for my elderly mother and she loves it, it’s very convenient also.
The day this bottle arrived the gentleman that I purchased it for tried it out, the rang me to say how delighted he is with it. He has charged it and used it to warm his hands and was all set to use it when he went to bed. He is over the moon with it. Thanks
I love my Powatron heat pad/hot water bottle. I suffer from Raynauds disease(cold/dead fingers) and this has helped me a lot. It heats up quickly and retains the heat longer than a conventional hot water bottle. I put it on the dashboard of my car before going out and it helps to keep the screen clear of moisture. This device has helped me to get through the winter.
Doesn’t heat up as hot as standard water bottle but it maintains its heat for hours , fast to charge. Material is nice and soft.
This is an amazing creation I purchased by this for my mother with arthritis and bone cancer and did not like the idea of her pouring boiling hot in water into a regular bottle as she has twitches and drops things so it was a concern I held I’d heard about thease and instantly thaught it would be brilliant as it helps ease her back pains ect, she is most pleased with this item and it’s a relief to not have to worry about pouring water or it leaking!
Now this dosent stay hot for 5/6 hours it’s about an hour to 1 and a half but it generally lasts longer than a regular hot water bottle when u plug the charger in it starts to boil like a kettle with the heating element inside heating it up and it’s done in 6/8 minutes you can even have it at your bedside to reheat easily aspecialy if u have mobility issues it’s so handy it is a very soft little device and has a hand pocket aswell overall this is an amazing item for elderly or I’ll/ less mobile people giving them the capabilities to simply warm it up within arm’s reach once it’s cooled enough it will let u reheat it again but it has to cook down to a specific point or it won’t let you charge it again I’m so happy I came across this and plan to get another for my mother so she can alternate whilst it cools for continuous use they are also great to heat up and take out with you to keep warm in the cold weather absolutely could not recommend this more!!!
Love this it stays warm for ages. I have Raynauds and fibromyalgia I struggle with pain especially in my hands and feet and this helps a lot as I can put my hands in to the little pocket. It doesn’t stay hot for the 6 hours but there still is some warmth. Glad I bought it as I’ve dropped kettles full of boiling water down myself a few times when my hands have been bad so this saves me from that.
I LOVE this hot water bottle … only takes 15 minutes to charge/boil then you disconnect the charger, close the flap and you can use it on your lap or desk, put your hands inside and warm them up beautifully! I also use it as a hot water bottle in bed – put it in my bed about 15 minutes before I want to get in and it’s lovely and warm. I then put my hands inside the pouch and hold it to my chest and get off to sleep. I was hoping it would be good and do the job – it’s even better than I hoped for. In these very cold times, it really helps keep me warm. What more do you need to know? Just get one – you won’t be disappointed!
This is s great device, but I can tell you it does not stay hot for 6 hours. I did not expect it to, even though the website says so. A couple of hours after, at most, then it becomes lukewarm.
I would still recommend it, though. I sit with it under my legs, and it works great for a couple of hours.
This is the third one of these I have bought for my wife. They last for around 2 to 3 winters but then become bloated and hard to heat up. When they are working they are excellent and even at the price I am happy to buy one every few years. Took one star off for the limited life duration.
I bought this for pain relief. It does Heat up quickly but I have found it gets too hot. The first time I used it, it burned my skin. You need to turn it off before the indicator light goes out and make sure it’s not placed on bare skin. Care also needs to be taken if using as a hot water bottle, to avoid burning feet. It’s great once it’s cooled down a little
I first discovered something similar as a present from an Italian friend – and frankly loved it. I then took a look on Amazon UK and found the same item (but almost double the price – hence a low score on value for money). That said, it’s just as good – if not better with a warm lining and place for cold hands.
It takes about ten minutes to warm up and lasts about six hours. However, you can always give it a boost in the night.
This has now replaced completely my hot water (water) bottles and I would recommend to anyone who finds winter too tough to bear.
The time is coming for me to give up boiling two kettles to fill 3 hot water bottles to take to bed at night- one for my back, one for my feet, and one rolled up in a throw for a 5:00AM rendez-vous when our bedroom is coldest. I just can’t keep on lugging all this weight up and down stairs to the kitchen. So I decided to try one of these electric hot water bottles. This one comes with not a lot of written detail although the safe operating instructions are fine. The charging mechanism looks slightly different to the one on the Amazon details page. I have attached a photo to show how it compares for size with the Fashy HW bottle (Also available from Amazon). I did a trial last night- the Powatron kept its heat as well as the hot water bottle, but I always wrap my hot water bottles in a small towell and a terry bathmat. This does allow through quite a lot of heat and protects you from burns. I carefully took the Powatron off the charger before I wrapped it – The Powatron was really warm enough at 5am. If you decide, as I have, to have 3 of them , you can charge them in the bedroom while you read a book or watch the news on TV- each one will take 8-14 minutes as it says. If you charge 2 at one time you will use 900w which might put a strain on your circuit. It’s probably less electricity than a kettle though. And a lot safer as you don’t have to fill with boiling water late at night and risk scalding yourself. The Powatron when heated up is soft and has a lot of give in it and there’s this little muff-like bit of material so you can slip your hands into it. It would be an ideal gift for a gardener or a football follower. My only reservation (which has made me keep back a star) is that it doesn’t tell you anywhere what the stuff inside is made of. There is a Kite Mark, though.
It was pure chance that I stumbled upon this product because I was actually looking to buy a conventional, refillable, hot water bottle. It was curiosity that finally made me decide to make my purchase.
Would this electric hot water bottle be simpler to use and more cost effective compared with a real hot water bottle? I tend to think so because the fluid inside, whatever it is, is reusable in much the same way as the coolant in a vehicle’s cooling system, except this water bottle cannot be topped up. Whatever the liquid filling is, it retains heat very well. With a real hot water bottle there is always the risk of scalding during filling. This risk is eliminated with the electric hot water bottle.
I would not call the electric hot water bottle expensive because its price is on a par with similar designs from other manufacturers. A genuine quality hot water bottle can still be fairly expensive but I was willing to gamble the extra cost was probably worth it.
I have used this electric hot water bottle several dozen times and I’ve come to think of it as an electrically-heated pillow. Once it reaches the desired working temperature, I disconnected the pillow from its charger and insert it into my bed beneath the top pillow. This is how I prefer to use it, near my head.
The time the pillow is on charge can be used to set how hot the pillow gets. Less time on charge, less heat. The pillow or its charger must contain a heat sensor to prevent overheating. The sensor periodically interrupts the power in much the same way as an emersion heater. An LED indicator on the charger indicates when the pillow is being heated.
There are no detailed instructions provided with the pillow because it doesn’t require any. Putting the pillow ‘on charge’ is as simple as putting batteries in a torch. What surprised me during first use was the ‘speed’ of charging (heating) the pillow. It gets very hot very quickly, typically 15 minutes is more than adequate to reach a comfortable temperature. Once disconnected from its mains-powered charger (240Vac) the pillow gradually cools over the next 6 hours, or so.
When its hottest setting is achieved it is probably best not to place the pillow directly onto the skin. It is very unlikely to inflict burns because the pillow has a soft, felt-like, outer cover, which totally encloses the flexible container that holds the heated fluid.
There is no information that I can find that describes the toughness of the pillow’s container. Can it be punctured accidentally? What is the fluid inside and is it dangerous if it leaks? What is the device inside that converts electrical power to heat? Is the container and its liquid replaceable? I am mindful of these questions when the pillow is in use so I treat it with respect. So far, so good. Recommended.
My elderly mother has chronic pain in her neck and head which makes her life a misery at times. I stayed over one night and found her trying to get down the stairs at 3am in order to reheat her bean bag pillow, as once she has taken all the available painkillers a heated pillow is her only relief. She has fallen down the stairs and is very unsteady so this was a big concern and I felt sure she was heading for another tumble. My Dad is deaf and once he’s asleep he’s out for the count until morning. We tried this pillow because it promised to stay warm for 6 hours. Mum is not very open to change / new items so I wasn’t expecting a good reception. However both mum & Dad absolutely LOVE this pillow. Dad said “it does what it says on the tin”. Mum says she takes it up about 11pm and it’s much hotter than a bean bag so alleviates pain much better. She said it was the first time she’d slept all through the night. Importantly, when she wakes up at around 7am it is still warm enough to get her through until dad awakes. She was crying most mornings getting in a panic not knowing what to do about the pain. Now she says she snuggles into the slightly warm pillow and just waits until dad wakes up and bring her a cup of tea! Dad says it is very easy to charge (he’s 86) and also it cuts out when it’s reached temperature so you can’t over heat it. For a small and inexpensive item this is actually worth it’s weight in gold.
