Used the tools to fit an SPC floor in the kitchen.Did the job, with the added use of a large rubber mallet. Good price and delivered very promptly.
good kit, everything you need to lay a laminate floor, good value
I needed this to fit some laminate flooring. the block works great. The bar works great and the wedges are well just wedges! The mallet is way too small and light to ever fit flooring with It’s more like a jewellers mallet. I bought a decent one instead!
As it says in the title excellent bit of kit and couldn’t have done it without this and so glad I brought i
Just what I needed to get the most links to compress together for a nice finish.
The tools included with this set are plastic and feel quite lightweight. You can get more expensive and more solid feeling hammers, wedge and bar. The wedge block will also not be the correct height for all types of flooring you are trying to lay, so be careful there as you can end up breaking the flooring. I would definitely recommend getting a special hammer as using a normal hammer just does damage. You might be able to wrap some cloth or such like around a normal hammer for a softer and less damaging impact. The main tips are 1) leave space between the flooring and walls 2) make sure every piece of flooring is linked/clicked together properly before laying the next. This will save a lot of hassle.
It was my first time installing a laminated floor and this was super helpful and it was useful enough to do what I needed. Also for its price, you can never go wrong with i
I only wanted a cheap kit for a single hallway laminate installation and this item seemed to be ideal. For the price paid, I thought it was great, although it’s certainly not perfect.
The spacers are absolutely fine and there’s enough here for most. The hammer was surprisingly smaller than expected, but having said that, it works a lot better than I thought it would. It’s certainly handy having a little hammer in tighter spaces! The double ends are essential.
The tapping block is perfectly acceptable and does what it is supposed to. The bar however is definitely the weakest item in the kit. The small hammer doesn’t have enough weight to use with the bar so I ended up using a standard hammer. Unfortunately, this makes the bar bend, which causes the bar to pull out of the board you are trying to pull. I did manage by hammering the bar straight again every now and then, but it was a little frustrating.
Overall, I’m fairly pleased with my purchase and it certainly helped a great deal. Just a pity the bar isn’t a tad stronger.
Essential value kit if you’re a DIYer laying laminate flooring at home. Really helps close up the joins for a better finish. Most used item def the tapping hammer…. till the head flew off. The hammer head is just pushed in but kept flying off so in the end we used a standard hammer lightly with the tapping block. Job done!
Laminate on my 5m hall. Hammer is great, spacers i didn’t really get on with but used as best i could. I had no trouble with the tapping block as some reviews said but might have been lucky or not as heavy handed. The bar bent a few times but could be straightened easily. For a pro avoid but for diy or limited use it’s just fine.
Used it to finish the laminate flooring task. The spacers are very good, when using the spacers, you use them in pairs at each point, so the 40 spacers actually give you just 20 support points, I got more spacers elsewhere but can’t complain for the price. The hammer is nice. After finishing off about 60 sq m of tedious job with some complicated cuts which involved a lot of use of the hammer and block, it was really worth every penny.
