I have purchased these apple wood chunks a couple of times and am always pleased with the quality and size of the chunks. They give a really nice light smoke flavour. will buy again.

Decent product, clearly a quality wood and well seasoned. Chunks are way too small to use in an off-set smoker to maintain heat for longer than about 15 minutes. Will be using the rest of the bag for grilling to add a bit of flavour.

Used these hickory chunks for the first time this summer and was pleased with flavour.
You only get 1.5kg in a bag which isn’t a lot but should definitely last between 5-10 bbq’s.
I normally divide my barbecue in two zones, smoking with hot coals, and no coals with lower temperature. I will then smoke my meat for 1-2 hours, remove them from bbq and create one zone with hot coals to finish everything off, about 20-30 minutes. Sausages and chicken came out juicy with nice smoked flavour. I would suggest to start with only few chunks so that the “smoked” flavour is not too overwhelming. You can then adjust as you go. Having recently purchased a Weber BBQ I’ve taken my BBQing to another level. These wood chunks up the game even further..
I’ve started doing slow cooks and these work well with pork and chicken. Adding three or four chunks while 8hr cooking adds great flavour. I like to use these with a pork butt or ribs mainly. They add a nice smokey hit with a great smoke ring on the pork butt. I don’t bother soaking them in water like some suggest just add them to the BBQ in the first few hours of smoking/ cooking and they do the job perfectly and last a while too. I will definitely buy more when these run out but at three or four pieces per 8ht cook they’ll probably last the rest of the year. Grab some, you won’t be disappointed.

Great product for creating a deep smoked flavour when used in the jerk pan. You need to make sure you soak the wood thoroughly before placing on your BBQ. Only criticism is it is expensive for what you actually get.

If your looking for large chunks of wood then these are the ones.
Plenty of smoke and decent longevity.
These where soaked in water for an hour or two before smoking began.

Never been able to use wood chips successfully so decided to switch to chunks and found these were much easier to use. Not tasted much apple but this could be down to the additional rub used but definitely getting an authentic smokey flavou

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis turned out to be a good buy, even if it’s a little pricey for some wood chunks. Makes for beautiful smokey flavour. If you are looking to smoke some meat and want good, clean smoke… This is it. I’d buy it again.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI got these to support my new found love for smoking meats. Having had the wood chips from Weber in the past, i thought I would try and chunks, for a longer smoke and slower burn.

So far I have tried these on both baby back ribs, and chicken wings and they work well with both. (ribs picture attached).

These chunks give a nice subtle smokey flavour to the ribs, and help to create a lovely bark and colour on the outside. They give a lovely smoke ring, using only 1 chunk for a 6 hour rib cook (the 3-2-1 method for those in the know). Fantastic results. Will definitely be using again.

The bag itself is a decent size, and will last for a good number of cooks (you only need 1-2 bits). Remember, your meat will only take on smoke for the first few hours, so don’t waste your wood by adding after that time.

The packaging provided is great, tough bag with a resealable top – semi plastic feel which means it should keep water out – find to be kept in the shed or similar.

overall, great product, good price, quick and convenient delivery – would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI used these to smoke a large piece of beef brisket. The flavour was amazing!
I only used a salt and pepper rub, so a lot of the flavour came from the wood.
    Definitely recommend using these.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersUsed to use chips before but thought I’d give the chunks a go as I’ve started smoking meat more. They give a really nice smoky flavour to the meat especially sausage, I used one large bit and it seemed to give enough flavour to the meats. Will try different flavours in future

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI got the wood chunks of hickory. The chunk in the picture is about average size. I put the wood just touching on piece of burning charcoal and it created plenty of smoke four about 20 or 30 mins. I used 2 pieces cooking a 700g lump of beef and other stuff. The flavour is good and strong but not overpowering. There are about 30ish pieces on the bag, I couldn’t be botherd actually counting them Tbh.

Very good quality wood chips from Weber – used it in a Big Green Egg to cook some delicious Iberico pork racks. Depending on what is being cooked, the wood chips are actually pretty strong – less is more with these chips as they are pretty good quality.
