It’s just makes starting the BBQ easy and quick. Load it up, light a fire lighter or two underneath and leave it for about 25 mins. It’ll be glowing and ready to tip out.
You do need a good heat proof glove to use it safely.
If only we’d purchased one years ago.
Fast was of lighting a bbq.
The Weber Rapidfire Barbecue Chimney Starter Set has been nothing short of a game-changer. Lighting coal has never been easier, requiring minimal effort and drastically reducing the setup time for a barbecue. This is a must-have for any barbecue enthusiast. It truly revolutionizes the grilling experience.
Allows you to get to grilling with perfect temperature charcoal, no more struggling to light the charcoal
Super easy to use, great for starting the BBQ in under 30 mins.
I was unconvinced that I needed one for my bbq but the fact that this can turn cold charcoal into a red hot pile of bbq fuel in a few minutes is remarkable.
I love it. Use it every bbq, never fails, much better coals than when I did it by myself.
So glad that I bought this makes it so much easier to light the barbecue great investme
I was unsure about this to start with, how wrong can you be ! So easy to use and gets the brickets white hot in 20 minutes, simply just pour into barbecue ready to go, and no lighter fluid in sight !
This thing makes having a bbq so much simpler. Lit and ready to cook on in 15minutes.
What a great little investment for the BBQ. Happy with purchase
I use it regularly and it has lasted very well.
I had gone off charcoal bbq’s as they were often a pain to get going. This has made the whole process so much easier. 15 minutes is all it takes to get a bucket full of white hot coals. Would definitely recommend
Easy to use and works amazing!
Really sets the bbq and coals off well and is easy to handle.
I use with a heatproof glove – but would like to see more heat protection for users on the actual product itself
I’ve been barbecuing for several decades without one of these and now I am questioning why? Absolutely superb way of ensuring the charcoal gets lit and gets very hot. Don’t wonder if they are worth it just buy and try you will not be disappointed!
My initial thoughts were that these wouldn’t add anything to my bbq experience, but how wrong I was. BBQ’ing is a breeze with these, use far less fire lighters and no need to stand around prodding and keeping an eye on things. Well worth the investment.
This is a fantastic piece of kit for getting your charcoal going and guranteeing a good bbq. It isn’t cheap but the quality is really good and it makes life a lot easier. A couple of firelighters under your coal, leave it for 20 minutes and then you’re ready to cook
This item is far bigger than the items you see in Tesco’s, BQ etc, sturdy build with quality material, one filling kept out barbecue going for hours (big Kettle drum Type) by sing just half the grilling area.
overall, very please with it.
i used the Briquets that came with it only after i used some lumpwood charcoal which burned out far too quickly, the briquets burn slowly, so heat was better, ending up with superb chicken marinated in Jack Daniels sauce, lovely quarter pound beef burgers and sausages for the Queens jubilee party, fed 4 of us without needing any refills.
definitely recommended.
This chimney is a great idea and the build quality is great too. It holds a lot of coal (I use restaurant coal so some large pieces and out of a big sack but I’d estimate 2-2.5 kilo). I out the firelighter in, fill with coal and then light from the bottom using a long lighter. 20 ish minutes later the coal it ready to tip into the BB and cook. Have, used a lot- every BBQ, but have had a couple of occasions when at the magic 20ish minutes later is up I’ve had to start again- the firelighter had gone out- totally the firelighters/my fault, not the chimneys and given the speed it’s just time for another drink, and a bit more marinating before you start cooking so not all bad!
I now have two of these – my BBQ can hold more coal and due to building works I’m without a cooker so double coal has let me cook a joint/chicken for the following day after the BBQ itself, also the extra heat lasts well into the light so we can use the BBQ as a fire pit too, nice and toasty.
The original , finally got a bit of Sun and was unimpressed how fast the instant bags seems to run out now so decided to buy this to get the fire going . It was so easy to use . Popped 3 fire lighters down and lit them then popped this on top , 15-20 mins later I had glowing coals . No messing around with lighter fluid or various other methods to start a fire . It may be more expensive then others but we’ll worth it . I tried to pick up a cheap one from Tesco for my mums but it was not as efficient as this one . The bottom of the Tesco one wasn’t as airy as the Webber one so it took a lot longer to get the party started . Buy it you won’t regret i
Wowsers! What a difference! We bought our BBQ (weber charcoal 57cm) and tried to BBQ but it took so long to get to a warm enough temperature to actually cook anything that we had to feed the kids and send them tl get ready for bed before we could eat! By that point we (well me!) had drunk far too much wine so ate far too much meat… really late. So we did slme researxh and tried to figur out what went wrong as everyone raves about these. We even bought a kindle book all about weber cooking.
Turns out you need a chimney! This is something that heats up all your coals hot before you spread them on the BBQ. Worked amazing but was so hot we had to them wait a bit for it (only about 20-30 mins) to cool down! As my husband had started really early in case it took forever, we had to scramble to get ready to receive all the meat hewas throwing our way! We’ll get the hang of it but suffice to say – this works!
After many years of frustration when it came to start up the charcoal bbq, I was about to give up and buy a gas one instead, hence the reason I visited Amazon. After reading up on how brilliant these were, I thought I’d give it a go and spend 30 instead of 300 buying gas bbq which I wasn’t overly keen on anyway.
Truth be told, this has been the best 30 I spent in a very long time. Makes lighting up the charcoal so much easier with pretty much no effort at all. Just follow the instructions, which are simple and straightforward anyway, and you’ll be ready to start cooking in about 20 minutes. Honestly could not recommend it enough. As for the delivery, it was delivered 4 days before the expected date, which was even more of a bonus as it came on the day that we were planning to have a bbq, so I got to try it straight away
We love a bbq and are charcoal /briquette users. We’ve always used charcoal with firelighters or self lighting bags. The self lighting bags often smoke and when using fire lighters you have to keep shuffling the coals around to make sure they all light evenly . I’d seen the weber chimney starters in garden centres many times and was trying to decide if I could justify the cost. Spur of the moment I decided to go onto amazon and get one as we were having a big family bbq. And my only regret is that I didn’t buy one years ago! They really are amazing and the easiest stress free way of doing a bbq. In fact I am going to buy a second one before next summer starts as we have a big oval bbq so really need two. I know many people opt for gas bbq’s as they’re more controllable but the food doesn’t taste the same. So the chimney starter is a must for all bbq fans. And definitely worth the money. Also you can get a second lot of coals ready to throw on.
