Very happy with these earbuds. Having auditioned several pairs of over-ear headphones around the 200 mark and been disappointed with the sound quality, I decided to try an inexpensive pair of earbuds to test the waters. I really like the sound quality and dynamic reproduction of these.
For the money, I have no complaints, except to say that non of the supplied silicone ear tips suited my ears so I bought some others and found a foam pair that helps me enjoy the EarFun’s even more.
Very happy.
Pros:
— Fantastic sound quality for music, media and calls
— Holds charge well
— Left & Right clearly marked
— There’s only one way to fit the buds back in the pod (hard to get it wrong)
— No wires to tangle
— Different sized tips included
— Cleaning wand included
— Thoughtfully designed all round
Cons:
— The touch controls are a faff
— Potentially easy to lose
I’ve been reluctant to get some of these because I’m great at losing things; I didn’t think they’d sound better than wired headphones; and I’m annoyed with phone companies for removing the headphone jacks from their high end phones.
But these EarFn buds sound soooo good that I’m a total convert!
I got some OnePlus wireless buds for my OnePlus phone, but I kept seeing these in reviews coming up as top value, and great sound for the price.
I can’t resist a deal, so I took a risk, and I’m very, very happy. These sound better than any wired earphones I’ve experienced and better than the OnePlus ones I’ve got.
They’re not perfect; the touch controls are hard to memorize, and a bit of a faff; and I imagine they’re easy to lose!
But they’re so good that, if I lose one, I’ll re-buy this same pair rather than stick with my back-ups.
I bought these about 2 years ago and thought I’d use them for long enough before submitting a review. I mainly used these whilst commuting, walking or going to the gym in;
Battery life is pretty good being that you could use it for several days and not need to charge it. Keep in mind that I basically used these 1 maybe 2 hours a day. Being a USB cable you can just plug into your phone/laptop to charge it
The touch portion of the earbuds were inconsistent but would work fairly well
I’m fairly ignorant on sound quality blah blah but I thought these were alright.
Issues that came up;
Cleaning these are an absolute nuisance
The phone function on these was inconsistent and eventually just stopped working completely making these exclusively for music only
One or both earbuds would randomly go off and you had to put it back in its case to “reset” it which can be annoying
Cannot be used whilst running including treadmills. They will fall out.
Eventually one of the earbuds has gone after 2 years of use. So overall, it was decent for the price I paid for which was 40
Since Iv had these earbuds one would work and the other wouldn’t I’d have to play around with them to get both of them to work. Iv had them 8 months and only one works now.
Great headphones. I can’t believe how good they are, for the price I paid.
Unbelievable quality for a cheap set of headphones.
Easy to pair and use.
I totally recommend.
I still can’t believe it.
Purchased these as a replacement, saw the what hifi review, to be honest , I always take with a pinch of salt .
Had them a couple of months , used everyday, no issues with connection and the sound quality is quite simply amazing .
If there is a better product for the money , I’d be surprised
Good all round performance. Use these for a mix of calls and listening to music. Good secure fit use whilst running with no issues. No active noise cancellation but the right fit results in a good seal.
Excellent value for money
These are my first pair of earbuds. They are a snip at 27.99, with credible music playback sound and reasonably good sound isolation, even though this is not a built-in feature.
However my advice would be to dig deeper into your pocket, and buy a set of Airfun Pro 1 earbuds. These are a 2020 production, but sonically they are far superior to Airfun Pro 2 and Airfun Pro 3. The sound is rated as ‘neutral’. I am no expert on musical tones, but I can attest that these sound really very good, especially in the context of a 49.99 purchase. My wife owns a pair of the Airfun Pro 3, which have more bells and whistles but sound vastly inferior to my ear.
In conclusion, if you only want to spent 27.95 these earbuds will not disappoint. In fact at this price they feel like a steal. You won’t be too upset to lose them either. However my advice would be to pitch straight in and pay a bit more for a much more pleasing sound.
Just one further note. When I first started using these reviewed earbuds I suffered from horrible headaches. Maybe my system needed to adjust to having both ears sealed, and to the rise in pressure. This lasted a week or so, and now I no longer have any headaches or issues with using them.
I was really surprised to get that sound quality for the price. People who use Apple earbuds are wasting their money because the quality is the same. Fits my ear pretty well, the controls are good, pairing is simple. This is an honest review after many months of everyday use – I haven’t received any bonuses for writing that review, so just trust me.
The product looks great and more importantly sounds great. I was dubious about how good these were going to be but the reviews suggested they were good. I was not disappointed, the bass is excellent and the quality of the sound is second to none. Highly recommend these.
Also customer support seems to be great although I’ve had no need to use them yet. They got in touch after my purchase and were proactively letting me know to get in touch should I have any issues.
Bought these over a year ago and they are fantastic. I am a musician and I am fussy about quality of sound, so I was a little worried but they had great reviews. I was not disappointed. Bought a 2nd pair of these for a friend. I had a problem with one of the pods and customers service were amazing! Issue was sorted immediately. Well done guys I will continue to recommend you.
Had multiple pairs of Bluetooth earbuds, had problems with most, but so far these have been great, a little larger than some, so sometimes can get a little uncomfortable if wearing for a long time (over 5 hours) but for this price these can’t be beate
What I want most from audio equipment is great sound and that is what these deliver with very few gimmicks. To get significantly better sound you will need bigger drivers that won’t fit in the ear so go over ear or speakers. The touch controls are a bit hit and miss (the three taps to advance the track I’m finding especially tricky). Other than great sound the IPX7 waterproofing is good to know (although I will leave that untested) and they hold a lot of charge, so much I might forget they need plugging in every now again. Were they really less than 30?
Great earphones for the money this is my 2nd pair in 4 months I dropped the last
pair and the case stopped
charging but totally my fault. So bought another now got I case and 2 pairs of earphones .
Don’t be fooled by the price, I have Bose, So y and many other ear phones and ear pods. Not kidding these are just fabulous sound , having bought them and tried them, I would pay f4/5 times as much for them , just grea
Bought these back in January and have been using daily ever since. Battery life is excellent, sound is great and very comfortable. Last week (early August) they would no longer charge. Contacted customer services @ Earfun and after a couple of emails they confirmed there was an issue and confirmed they would replace them. Wonderful support and service. Highly recommend the company, staff and products.
These are the first earbuds that I have used. I purchased them to take on holiday as they are small enough to pack in a back pack. OK the price was also a consideration. Well, at the price nothing much to loose I thought. Be prepared to be surprised; these are not only extremely good value but they are good. Very good.
They took a couple of days to get used to inserting them properly and then understanding the morse code to start, stop, advance, repeat, control volume, and so on (it also helps to put them in the correct ear!). I still find this aspect a bit tricky.
No noise cancelling. Not a problem for me.
Now, after a week of use I can report that they are comfortable and produce a good quality sound. Why pay more? In short don’t.
Bought these to replace a pair of Melomania 1s.
Checked out the review on what hifi who gave them 5 stars, so thought I would give them a go as the were 28.
They have a quality feel to them and feel.quite solid. They come in the box with extra ear buds so you should not have any issues finding a comfortable fit.
Sound is very good, not quite as good as the melomanias but then even at full price they’re half the price.
All in all excellent value for money. Very good inexpensive ear buds.
I bought these to replace a 170 set of Sony earbuds and with the discount only paid 23 aprox. The battery lasts longer, the fit is much more comfortable as I use them at night too and there haven’t been any disconnections so far due to signal. the Sony WF1000XM3 I had previously were far inferior to these reasonably priced ear buds and of course they sound great, not quite as spacious a sound stage as the Sony’s but much better bass and not so troubling software. I’d give a 9/10 overall as you can’t go wrong. Better than any Airbuds I’ve used and great build quality too. I’m 2 days in so this might change but first impressions are great! (I compared side by side the sony’s as they have a battery issue after hardly any use but outside of warrantee
Bought these to replace some disappointing Panasonic RZ-S500WE-W buds which stopped working properly after way too short a time. In comparison, these sound better, with better treble clarity, they fit more securely in the ear and have a much more satisfying carry case and pairing mechanism.
These are fantastic headphones. That’s before you consider the price, that in itself makes these the most spectacular value headphones I’ve ever bought. Outstanding.
Haven’t used them for voice, no intention of doing so.
A couple of weeks in and I’m very impressed with these, especially considering they are at the budget end of the market. Sound is clear and as described by WhatHiFi (see their review)… It’s not blow your mind away depth or anything and I’ve not listened to more expensive earpods. I bought these because I wanted to be able to listen with one ear at times, to be able to easily walk around listening to audible and some music… For that they’re great.
Connection was simple…when it struggled I used the button in the case. I have found you have to “forget” the bluetooth connection if you want to use them with a different device and then “forget” again every time to switch devices. Maybe this is a hassle for some but I’m ok with it.
All in all, well worth the money if you’re entering the ear bud market without wanting to spend a lot.
Great earbuds on a budget. I am very happy that I bought them on offer, I personally don’t think they are worth the full price. Pros: comfortable to wear, good sounds quality. Cons: sometimes randomly loose connection for afew seconds. Overall Great for the price.
Quality is reasonable. Triple tapping for track skipping has its flaws, sometimes pausing from double tap.
You can’t connect to multiple devices. You need to pair with the device you want which needs the case. If your watch dies and your paired with that, you have to wait till your back with the case.
Amazing sound quality for the price. Case is a bit chunky but it holds a lot of charge.
Comes with different size tips for a perfect fit. Comfy once you have them fitted correctly. Also a little cleaning bud is in the box. At first I wasn’t pleased with the thin sounding bass, however once I’d sussed out how to fit them into my ears probably the bass is superb. Can’t fault these at all, very pleased.
Recently purchased these to replace some earbuds I lost. I didn’t want to spend a huge amount of money but also didn’t want some cheap tinny sounding set.
Having read other reviews and previously brought a earfun speaker I decided to try these out.
I can honestly say they are great! They sound great, feel nice in the ear and have some pretty nice features such as: wireless charging, responsive touch sensitive buttons on either ear bud, great battery life and quick/automatic Bluetooth connection to your device when you take them out the case.
I have also made several phone calls with these earbuds and everyone I spoke with said they could clearly hear me with minimal back ground noise.
I highly recommend you buy them if you want great earbuds at a budget price. I brought these on a deal for 27.99.
I specifically bought these to stop using my SkullCandy over ear headphones whilst running. I had my doubts as my concern was these will fall whilst running, so used them today for the first time on my long run.
I am very impressed overall with sound quality for the price and the snug fit in my ear. Throughout the 16miler they stayed in and there were no issues, I would occasionally just push them in if I felt they might fall that was pretty much in my head, in reality the seal in my ear was good and they stayed in. The charging case is wireless so I am using my iPhone wireless charger. Battery life looks really good, and I’ll use these regularly for running, the touch controls are a bit sensitive so watch out as it might pause what you’re listening, build quality is premium and I would recommend these if you are looking for budget ear buds.
Make sure to look at the provided attachments and select the ones that give you a snug fit for your respective ear.
I haven’t tried in-ear headphones before, mainly because I was worried they might not fit and then what do you do?! Well I needn’t have worried, these come with different sizes of very soft fittings. Two of the sizes work fine for me, the larger just feeling slightly “fuller” and a better seal while the smaller I can barely feel there’s anything in my ear at all, so that’s great. Sound is excellent, really clear treble and plenty of bass, I even had to dial down the bass slightly for music using my music app Musicolet’s graphic equaliser so I’m really happy with how that sounds now. Initially I had some trouble using the multi-tap controls but EarFun send an Amazon message after a couple of days from purchase asking if everything is ok, and I asked some questions and they cleared up the issues completely for me. The manual says “tap” but the buds are touch-sensitive so the tap is really more of a touch, you don’t need to whack it, hehehe. A hard tap makes a horrible noise in the ears anyway, so a gentle but definite touch is the perfect way to use them. Also I struggled to get the buds to accept a triple-touch, if you do it too quickly it gets interpreted as a double or single, and too slow and it can be interpreted as a double followed by a single. Support kindly checked with their engineers and came back immediately with the data that a triple-touch needs to be completed within 900ms, so if you look at a clock with a second-hand and tap the desk with your finger 4 times per second, that tapping speed equates to 3 taps in 750ms which turns out to be very reliable for telling these buds what you want them to do. Sorted! At this pay-point you don’t get full active noise-cancelling, but the box says “noise cancelling call technology” but I haven’t investigated that aspect yet as I don’t do much phoning with earphones. EarFun make many different models, the “Air” being entry-level, so if they continue to behave as well as they did out of the box I may treat myself to a higher level model later. The buds hold a rated 7 hours of use on a full charge, 2 hours on a 10min topup, and the case holds a further 28 hours so that’s amazing for a kit that has almost no weight at all! On first switch-on, following the quick-instructions, my phone found the buds imediately and connected immediately. I haven’t had any connection dropouts at all. The case is rechargeable via standard USB-C (cable supplied). I really can’t think of anything I don’t like about these buds, they’re comfortable and they sound nice, and the price is right. Yay!
Not quite as simple to set up as my previous earbuds but now they are connected they work fine. Was hoping they would be more comfortable in my ears but they’re not. It’s not the soft inner ear bit with the interchangeable covers that’s the issue, it’s the hard outer plastic part that sits in your outer ear. Still too bulky for me and hurt after a while. Can’t lie on them either which is what I mostly use earbuds for, watching videos in bed when I can’t sleep. Overall OK but for me, not brilliant. Not majorly bothered about sound quality but they are better than a terrible JVC pair I also own.
This earphone suffers from bad signal interference when the volume of the earbuds is towards the higher end. To keep the sound quality reasonable, make sure your phone volume is at max and control the volume from the earbuds themselves. For most people, the earbuds will end up being at approximately half volume, which reduces stress on the internal amplifier inside the earbuds. If you don’t do this, there will be loud hissing and crackling depending on what is happening in the song. Other earbuds don’t suffer from this issue, so bear this in mind.
EDIT – Since writing this review, EarFun customer service contacted me directly to try and resolve this and tbf they have been super helpful. As I have had issues with 2 pairs now, they offered to send me a different model – the Air Pro 2. These arrived within 3 days and are working great, straight out the box. I’m finally getting great sound, no cut outs, and after using them for a few hours, the battery is still showing 100% charge. Now I feel like I’m getting the experience and quality that everyone else has mentioned in their reivews so have upped the star rating from 2 to 4.
Original review below:
I read all the glowing What HiFi reviews and bought a pair last year for my housemate’s birthday. She wore them everywhere, loved using them in the gym, raved about the sound quality and battery life (Pair#1).
Early this year, based on her feedback, I decided to get a pair for myself (Pair#2). I charged them for about 4-5hrs, took them out of the box, and after about an hour of Zoom calls, I got a ‘battery low’ message. I repeated the charging process, thinking I must have done something wrong, but the next day exactly the same thing happened. By removing one at a time, I found that the right earbud couldn’t hold a charge properly. After an hour of playing music at normal volume, it was down to about 60%, whereas the left ear still showed 90%. I figured I must be unlucky, so I returned them, got a refund and bought another pair.
Pair #3 – left overnight initally on charge to be 100% sure. Although the battery life issue seems resolved with this pair, their connection is unreliable at best. The left ear rarely connects when removing both from the case – the right connects immediately and the left doesn’t even flash blue like it’s trying to connect. Leaving them on, trying to connect, has resulted in the computer hanging after about 2mins while BT has some kind of meltdown before eventually resolving and connecting. However, once connected and while listening to music, the left ear randomly cuts out as other users have also reported.
When working, the sound quality is great and apparently the voice quality on Zoom/phone calls is very clear, but it seems like the quality control department is out to lunch. I really wanted to like these but sadly, will have to return them again and find another product which has better quality control.
Wasn’t sure about purchasing EarPods as I have quite small ears and regular earphones always struggled to stay in my ears, so have constantly used bigger over ear headphones.
These were no different, but realised they come with the largest rubber pads on them. Tried the second smallest (from a choice of 4) and they’re great, I can walk around freely without them coming out. Did a few tests of shaking my head around, moving my jaw etc and they remained in my lugs.
Initial thoughts on opening the box was the quality of the packaging. A small thing, but the box is very well made and looks much more upmarket for a “cheaper” pair of headphones. Very simple instructions included, everything positioned neatly and it just looks really polished and professional. First impressions and all that.
The charging case is small, light, nice and sleek. The lid is very secure with a strong magnetic clasp that shuts it closed (although it’s quite loud). Getting the pods out from the charging case can be a bit fiddly as they’re quite deeply set and very smooth with not much purchase area, so I sometimes struggle. Very easy to pair, just turn your Bluetooth on your device, open the lid, and choose them.
As I mentioned I now have the right sizes and they fit my ears fine. There’s usually a little bit of adjustment needed and this can sometimes turn the volume up/down as they are touch sensitive. The noise cancellation is quite good, but you need the volume up pretty high to block out the outside world, and they do go pretty damn loud. They’re good for removing/reducing wind noise. I’m used to full active noise cancellation so don’t think it’s as good as over ear phones with that feature, but for what they are they’re pretty great.
The sound quality is GOOD. Not amazing, and I imagine inferior to more expensive pods (decent ones are priced over 150+). But it definitely isn’t bad quality, and better than what I expected for the 40 quid price tag. The bass is pretty good, and treble isn’t tinny. Podcasts are really good and clear, and the 4 microphones on them make calls really good quality. I made a call and they commented the sound was great, actually better than using my phone mouthpiece. Incoming sound was great too. I listen to loads of different musical genres and have been pleased with the balance and levels for what I’m listening to.
There’s a good video on YouTube which tests the volume output of your headphones, and they did pretty well on it. The surround sound is REALLY good for videos.
The case is waterproof which is a good thing. I got drenched in the rain and water soaked into my pocket which has the case. Outside water, but inside was perfect. EarPods also remained dry whilst in use.
The touch pads on them are for volume, skipping tracks (although can’t go back), answering/rejecting calls, transferring calls, and “voice commands”. I couldn’t use Siri on my phone with them, but not sure if it was me doing it wrong. I wasn’t overly fussed as I usually don’t bother with voice commands.
I wasn’t overly impressed with the touch sensitivity. It takes a few attempts and I often paused a track instead of skipping it. And as mentioned if you adjust the EarPods you often turn the volume up and down.
They’re comfy in, and I listen to podcasts in bed to help me sleep. They’re not intrusive and are well shaped for comfort if lying on your side.
I’d recommend these to most people. Great for commuting, light travelling, office based, in bed, etc. If you want excellent and professional sound or want to use them at the gym/exercising, maybe look elsewhere (however my ears might just be crap and not beat shaped for energetic movements).
For the price these are actually pretty great. I don’t often review things (especially at this length) but they are a really good product and I’m happy with them.
