I had a big disaster, this pump done soo much justice it honestly saved me. It’s worth it’s weight in gold!
I have bought this to shift rainwater that fills up a small passage way at the rear of my house when it rains cats and dogs like it did a few days ago. Getting a bit too old for 45 mins of constant bailing when the rain has stopped.
Cobbled it up for a quick test as I do not have all the hozelock stuff yet and it filled a 2 gallon watering can in 22 secs using a 500 watt drill on max speed ( whatever that may be ). That equates to shifting 1485 litres an hour or 327 gallons. So should shift the water a bit quicker than I can bail unless the drill overheats but won’t be able to test it in the conditions that I want it for until the area floods again. The water will be mixed with soil so it may be muddy too. Will have to see how it copes then. I do have a more powerful 750 watt drill which should raise the delivery but chuck is a bit dodgy. Anyway will now take it to pieces and regrease and get it set up properly and wait. I will say that I would be a bit unhappy filling ponds and the like for fish because oil/grease will get in the water won’t it. Does not bother me as I don’t keep fish.
Arrived within 24 hours
Does exactly as described
Great seller great communication
Highly recommended
The metal construction seems solid.
Did not work with my cordless Ryobi drill but worked well with an an old Black and Decker corded drill.
Not a bad little pump. More flow would be nicer, but works a treat.
Pumps well and looks like it will last a long time.
I’ve had several of the cheaper versions over the years, going back to the late 1990’s with a black and decker one. Must have been one of the earliest versions.
Anyways I’ve used wolfcraft clamps for ages, the same ones so I kinda knew that this pump would be a good deal better than the plastic ones I’ve had in the past.
Used it today to pump out the big plastic storage boxes I use as dunk tanks / watering for the plug trays in the poly tunnels (Eucalyptus Trees) and it was excellent. You can feel it is smoother than the cheapos. It does state on the body, use for a max of 40 seconds. It does get hot, so I would definitely stick to that and I did. I was using a Dewalt brushless combi drill, and I put it on the slow speed. Even though it sucked the 40 litres out easily, 4 boxes, so around 160 litres in total.
Effortless and quick, happy
Bought this pump because it was made of metal and had a high feedback rating.
My own personal experience was that the pump arrived well packaged with clear English instructions, the components for fitting this pump to a suitable base were of high quality and came with fitting instructions that again were clear and accurate.
The pump manufacturers recommend a drill at 600w powere rating and above, however, I ran it with a Bosch drill of 500w without issue. Once I applied a drill of greater power (800 w) I encountered other issues NOT related to the pump. When you increase the power the hose/tubing must be more rigid or the tube will collapse and function below optimum.
Once you have balanced the power with the tubing the pump is more than capable of coping and so far has run perfectly with no fuss or issues. I use it to do water changes in a tropical 350 ltr tank fish , which makes the operation so much easier I don’t know why we didn’t do it before.
The pump is rated at 3000 ltrs per hour … that ISN’T possible with standard hosing in my experience.
Overall I would highly recommend this product. it wasn’t the cheapest product but I’m very pleased so far.
Alot more expensive than plastic water pumps seen online, but I have melted many of those cheap ones. This one is lasting and shows no signs of wear after quite a bit of use. Pumping 400 litres at a time.
Perfect powerful and really is self priming if you use a little oil in the inlet prior to setting up. It helps if you use a pump foot but it’ll fill a 45 gallon drum in around 5 minutes which is unbelievable for a tiny drill pump.
M
Lightweight pump but does the job i wanted it for ( moving water from barrel to drain )
his little pump can shift a fair amount of water, i use it to fill pipework onsite for testing, fills a heating system and domestic pipework on a three/four bed house in a couple of minutes.
I used this to refill a solar heating system and it worked great. Easy to set up and use, and it got me up to 3 bars. I used a powerful corded drill.
Great and helped me charge a solar system. Managed to get the pressure on my system up to 3 bar. My drill isn’t the most powerful but worked well with this and would be useful for other applications in the garden.
I read some reviews on drill pumps, and decided to spend a little extra and get one with metal components. This pump is fast, strong and just what you want from a water pump. No problems – very happy. My friend saw it working and bought one himself. Good value for money.
I bought this to empty our hot tub. Works great. Must be mounted on a board. Only suitable for a drill with a keyed chuck. I used a 450W drill and it works great. I screwed it to a piece of ply, connected the drill and added a spacer so the drill body was held in line with the spindle on the pump. Standard hose tap connectors screw onto the pump body connect the hose and off you go.
The pump self primes so no problems there.
Useful pump I used to empty pond. Needs a powerful drill, my cordless drill could not turn it but otherwise does the job. Use standard hose connectors on ends of pump. Definitely need to fix to board and I used another thin piece of wood to lift the drill to centreline of the pump.
