Used it to drain a heating oil tank. Worked a treat. No priming required even with quite a long hose down into the tank. Just disassemble afterwards and clean the oil out ready for next time.

Using it with a water butt and a hose. Makes watering the garden so much easier. Unless you cable the the switch on the drill it’s a two person job. Been using a battery drill with great results. Not tried a mains drill.

Very impressed with this pump! I wanted it to empty a 1000 litres of water from my garden water feature and worked a treat and pumped out the water in just few minutes. I ran it with a battery drill and even washed the tank round to clean everything out and the pump Sucked up every last drop. Very pleased and would recommend.

hat I used to drain and then re-fill a super-king size water bed – 5m from bath.
The pump needs a little setup before you can use it; you will need some adapters to fit the hose to the pump, a hose of course and a piece of plywood or mdf etc. to mount the pump on. The instructions that come with the pump are basic, but good enough to figure it out.
Once setup, the pump did its job reliably and I’m sure I’ll be using it many times in the future… Note: I had to use my mains powered drill as my battery drill didn’t turn fast enough to provide a good flow rate.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIve only used it once & it’s a good little pump but only if you need to move small amounts of liquids, it took me an hour to move 180 litres of water, mainly because the drill was getting hot so I kept stopping to let it cool down. Also as it was going I noticed a slight leak as you can see from the picture so I’m not sure how long it will last if you need to move move a lot of liquids. I would of given it 5 stars if it hadn’t started leaking (5 stars for small amounts of liquid)
I primed it by connecting one end to the tap & the water run as soon as I turned the drill on also I dropped a bit of oil into the pump as it says to in the instructions.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for moving small amounts of water etc

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAt first I was a little doubtful. I looked through instructions and gave it a go. PLEASE NOTE: there is a small image of an oil can indicating you may need to oil it. … this for me, is an understatement, in fact the pump would not pump water without being oiled EVERY TIME?!!
Other than this complaint the pump.works fine and as you can see from my set up it’s not difficult to do. A small piece of plastic (which looked a bit like a chewed up non return valve) fell out of mine but to be fair I’m not sure if my mate ran the drill in reverse and not told me.
Not sure if the above is part of the reason I need oil every time (cant see it some how) but it works and I can water my garden from the river on my property boundary so I’m happy with that. All I hope is my 24 year old power drill doesn’t die (was my first ever drill)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good pump but needs oiling everytime

Bought in a panic as my daughter property has a well in the kitchen. Due very heavy rain and a overflowing feeder stream the water was rising (a hole cut into the floor slab & lit from below.) The pump was a godsend pumping the water through to the cellar sink. Highly recommended.

This little piece of kit is fantastic. Well built and very easy to use. All hozelock attachments fit and the pump rate is incredible for such a small tool. I use this for pumping water out of a soakaway and it’s never failed to impress. It also self primes which makes life so much easier. Well done Wolfcraft.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis Pump is marvelous. The pump is well made and the seal is brilliant, it comes with instructions on how to set it up to a drill, by connecting it to a board, very simple idea even a child could do. You must not let it run dry for more than 30seconds as this can cause wear to the seals which would mean that it will stop it from working at worst or you will lose efficiency.

I used the pump to empty a 6,400 litre pool. I did not want to leave it running constantly so stopped it every 30 minutes, each time I checked the pump and it had not heated up in anyway. Although I did not time the amount of time it took to empty the pool, I would say the pump ran at the efficiency stated.

The reason I have not awarded 4 stars, is because the pump was a little louder than expected. IF you are going to be near the pump when it is in operation, I would recommend ear defenders as it does get loud.

Would I recommend this product to someone else. Yes.

This seems expensive for what it is but it’s actually very effective. Rather than waiting 2 hours for the hot water cylinder to drain out I can pump it out in under 10 mins with this. Mount the pump on a piece of ply large enough for your drill to lie o

bought this pump as i have 3/ 50 litre drums sitting beside my oil tank, sinnce i had a new bunded tank fitted. on transferring oil from old tank to new one , which is smaller i discovered i had quite a bit of excess, hence the 3/50 litre drums.this little gadget worked a treat with no leaks or spillage whatsorver.Being over 70 and not to agile and my tank stood on a fairly high plinth i just couldnt lift the drums up so high, so to be very honest this is the best little piece of kit i have ever bought .,a very big thank you to wolfcraft.

This pump has a lot of varying uses, and the ability to connect standard outdoor hose/tap fixings to the unit make it incredibly easy to alternate between jobs.

This is installed as part of my outside tap and garden water feed pipework, and can be fixed to one of the posts near an outside tap. We have aproximately 100 metres of outdoor underground pipework used to feed various beds and taps, and to avoid any posibility of frost damage over the winter causing unknown leaks, we intend to drain the system. This pump makes light work of the job, simply connect to the outside tap nearest the isolator, open the pipework at the other end and fix a drill to this unit and start pumping.

It fits easily to any drill cordless or otherwise and pumps a decent volume of water without any priming. Be aware there is a fair amount of grease inside the unit, and I would not advise using this to pump any kind of drinking water.

If pumping dirty water, ensure that whatever pipework you connect to the inlet has a filter to prevent any large debris from entering the unit.

    Pros:
    Solid build quality
    No priming required
Good flow rate (depending on power/speed of drill used)

    Cons:
packed with grease, so unsuitable for pumping drinking water (without appropriate third party filters etc)
Hose connectors not included, but as the pump is versatile for many uses, these would only be useful if your specific use involved these.

I bought this pump to recharge our solar panel when required but have used it to pump out a small pool and found it very good.i made a small board on which to mount drill and pump and its stable. They are intended to pump water and I use an electric drill which has decent speed, so output is pretty good. Overall well pleased wih this small pump

Proved to be simple but effective in pumping 500 litres of diesel oil from an old tank.
Lifted oil over 5 feet (1.5 metres) easily.
Cleaning out the surplus grease from inside it before it’s first use helped it’s efficiency.
Depending what it is used to pump, lubricating it after use will prolong its life.

A good little pump. I didn’t get quite the flow rate that was stated on the specs but I suspect at least some of that is because my drill didn’t have the required RPM. Easy to set-up and use, especially with the ability to screw-on the quick hose connectors.

Does an excellent job. Battery drills lose power fairly quickly, but if water level is higher than ground level, as my garden pond is, I use this to start the syphon action then quickly disconnect the hose on the pond side of the pump, dropping the hose to the ground and it syphons out without using the pump further.

Well made from appropriate quality plastics. I am using it with a board mounted DeWalt cordless drill/driver at full speed, which gives moderate flow. I am getting self-priming at 50 cm lift to the pump. I would expect a faster speed to achieve better (fuller) priming and therefore a much better flow rate. Batteries are quickly depleted. With occasional use on cold dirty water the pump stays cold.

Golden Review Award: 46 From Our UsersI have cleaned radiators in the past either by draining them individually or draining the whole system and then removing them. In either case, there is still a bit of black sludge that can get onto the carpet even if I take a lot of care when the radiator is lifted off the wall. In addition, large radiators are heavy and need two people to lift them even when empty. There is also a risk that the valve joints can leak when the radiator is reinstalled.

I bought this pump as an experiment to see if I could clean the radiators in situ – effectively a DIY powerflush – and it worked very well. This version has ” BSP threads so I used washing machine hoses that have ” BSP connectors and rubber washers that make a good seal and had no problems priming. In addition, the hoses I used had a gauze filter to catch any particles.

The radiator must be isolated from the system by closing the TRV and LSV, counting the exact number of turns for the LSV. The LSV has to be opened the same number of turns after cleaning to maintain the system balance.

With the radiator cold, release the residual pressure by opening the bleed valve and then remove the air vent completely using a spanner. Use a towel or dish to catch the small quantity of water. Then remove the blanking plug at the other end, also catching any water. If water comes out under any kind of pressure, the TRV or LSV are not fully closed.

Three hoses are needed. One goes from a bucket with clean water in it (half full is OK in my experience) to the inlet of the pump, the second one goes from the outlet of the pump to one end of the radiator and then the third one goes from the other end of the radiator back to the bucket. To connect the hoses to the radiator, I made up adapters using a ” x ” BSP hexagonal bush and ” BSP hexagonal nipple (available from Toolstation or Screwfix). Most vents and blanking plugs are ” BSP but check first.

I mounted the pump on a piece of wood and used my Black & Decker 550W variable speed drill. This has high torque at low revs so easy to get the pump moving. It has a chuck that uses a key and there’s a cut-out on the casing for the pump spindle to get the key in. I used a small block of wood to keep the drill shaft in line with the pump spindle and exactly horizontal.

Shortly after starting the pump, any black sludge will be flushed out but then recirculated. After a few minutes of pumping, empty the bucket and repeat as many times as necessary using clean water until the circulating water is consistently clear. I preferred doing this rather than use running water so I can see when the radiator is clean. The variable speed drill enables a pulsing action by increasing and decreasing the speed.

Once the radiator is clean, the vent plug and blanking plug can be replaced. Its worthwhile to have some new fibre washers or `O’ rings just in case the existing ones get damaged. Open the TRV and LSV then bleed the radiator. The inhibitor will need to be topped up.

The system will benefit from a chemical clean first to loosen up the sludge. This method will then allow the individual radiators to be flushed.

I cleaned all the radiators the same day. Each radiator took me around 30-45 minutes with assembly/disassembly and pumping. I then refilled with new inhibitor. No mess on the carpets, no leaking valves and I did the whole house by myself. We have 12 radiators.

    I received this very quickly.
I mounted this unit on a sterdy plank of wood and once I connected all the pipe connections ( I used Quick-fit Connectors and a surplus length of garden hose) I used it to empty my 4 foot fish tank. Which it did within 5 mins.
I am very happy with this pump, there were no leaks and it looks and feels solidly built.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThe one thing you need to know pre purchase and Wolfcraft does not know; the revolutions or RPM of the drill required to generate the maximum flow. The answer is 2800 rpm with a minimum of 600 rpm. Even speaking German to their tech support did not reveal the answer but 2800 is written on the package. How difficult is that! When I looked down inlet/outlet pipes they were stuffed with grease. Very worrying because you dont know if the grease should be there or not. When the grease does come out its very sticky so if you are pumping into container the container gets contaminated. Only tried it once and it worked, so lets hope it stays that way. Hosepipe 3/4″ adaptors are no problem, try Toolstation they cost be 32p each (ref 16793).

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersBrilliant little pump. I use it for pumping from water butts to water the garden. I suggest it is best attached to a board large enough to accommodate the drill, which keeps the whole assembly stable. I use a big keyless chuck drill so did not purchase the chuck collar as this will only work with a key operated chuck. Beware this pump is not self priming, so for safety I only start with the suction hose attached, which I fill with water before I start, once the unit is pumping I attach the delivery hose. The reason I’m so careful is that I have just melted a similar small pump by running it dry. I went up the garden to see if it was pumping, and found it was not and by the time I had returned to the pump it was smoking and the plastic casing had melted! This pump is not a cheapo, it is well engineered and if treated properly should last a long time. Recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPumps well and does self prime. The threads are standard plumbing threads so it is easy to get connectors to suit.
I used the pump to pump out a cellar and it was important to filter the input or you could easily damage the pump.
The direction of rotation required means that a non reversible drill can be used with it.
