Had this in our last controller so got it for the new one. So far so good, hold charge for about a week and I’ve been on the Xbox for hours each day.

The Xbox Play and Charge Kit USB is a near-essential accessory for dedicated gamers who want to ensure their gaming sessions remain uninterrupted. The convenience it offers is undeniable. Gone are the days of scrambling for batteries mid-game; with this kit, you can seamlessly charge your controller while continuing to play.

The build quality of the cable is commendable. It feels sturdy and is long enough to provide a good range of movement, even when plugged in. The charging speed is relatively quick, ensuring that even short breaks can give your controller a decent power boost.

However, there’s a slight room for improvement. While the battery life is generally impressive once fully charged, it would have been even better to see a longer-lasting performance, especially for those marathon gaming nights. Additionally, an indicator for charging status or a more detailed battery level display would have been a great touch for more precise monitoring.

All in all, the Xbox Play and Charge Kit USB is a valuable addition to any gamer’s arsenal. It offers convenience and reliability, with just a few minor areas that could benefit from tweaks. If you’re looking to elevate your gaming experience and minimize interruptions, this kit is a solid choice.

I have been using eneloop rechargables for years and decided to give the play and charge kit a go as it was in sale. So far the slightly lighter weight had been noticeable for comfort and I’m impressed with the charge time and length of use.

The official and the best rechargeable battery for the Xbox controller,so much better than the third party variety that often only display 3 quarters of a charge not full unlike these.

looks like a good pice of kit. Battery was already charged and works ok. Have only just received it so time will tell regarding holding a charge, will give update soon. Well packaged in a cardboard carton. Only negative is that the delivery driver just left the cardboard package on the doorstep. We got to the door as soon as the door bell rang and they were gone! I have never asked for anything to be left on the doorstep . Amazon, take note

1st off this is a game changer.
No more money on duracells and energisers.
2ndly I won’t buy any other plug and charge kit except one by Microsoft/Xbox.
The cheap versions have a tendency to under perform or just stop working all together.
    Love this kit.

Don’t wast your money on any of the third party battery packs made by other companies, the performance difference with these official ones is night and day difference, massively better.

Good quality charging cable that fits firmly into the controller’s access port. If you have one of the previous charge and play battery’s lying about it will take a charge from this too. Use your console to check battery charge level as there’s no indicator on the cable to let you know it’s fully charged. Battery endurance is pretty solid. I played all night with full charge to begin with and power level still had 50% this morning. Not bad really. Can’t say exactly how long it takes to fully charge as I’m running 2 controller’s one of which is connected. Generally the one I’m not using. Working out nicely atm. The only negative is the price. 50 is too much for what it is and one wonders if it’s justified just because the Series X is mentioned. The previous one was half the price. Just left to see if it lasts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not exactly cheap

Not much to say, a must have for your new Xbox Series X, only reason it’s gotten 4 stars is because the only difference with this product compared to the one I had for the Xbox One is that the charger itself on the previous one had branding on it and the build quality is better, this one for the Xbox Series X seems like it’s just using a cheap(ish) standard USB C cable. Still does the job.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersThe play and charge it does the job, no issues. However, this new usb-c type for the new Xbox series X appears to me missing a feature which I found useful on the older version. The amber/white led indicating changing/fully charged has been removed. Granted, it’s not the end of the world but it was a nice feature to have. Disappointed it’s been removed.

That said, it’s still a great bit of kit to have, especially as I use wired Astro A40’s
