The Forstner bit set purchased has an ideal selection of graded sized bits
I enjoy wood working as a hobby and must say that I am delighted with my purchase
These forstner bits come well packed in their own little plastic boxes. They seem to be very sharp – using a pillar drill I have been using them to drill in to some old oak barrel staves for a craft project and they are showing no signs of dulling or chipping.
Currently they are priced at just under 17 which in my mind is very good value for money.
I got these as a replacement for my flat/spade drill bits for cutting holes in internal doors for fitting the latch handles. I prefer Forstner bits, as opposed to the flat bits, as they generally cut through the door quicker and they stay sharper for longer.
These are a good set, you get six individual bits, measuring as follows: 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 60 mm, which gives plenty of options for a varied range of products.
They appear to have been made from good quality material and having used one of the bits on one of the many doors that I have to hang, it cut out a hole quickly and neatly. There was no splintering, tears/splits etc. Also, having a hex fitting, they are easy to install on any drill and it stayed securely in place whilst in use.
Personally, I would recommend this kit, it is great value for money and you have a good range of sizes for multiple jobs. They are perfect for my DIY requirements and in all honesty aren’t likely to be used regularly, so with any luck they will last a long time and be readily available the next time I need to use them. A really good and efficient product.
I have a very nice set, but that set is not available to me right now, so I go these.
Each bit comes in its own red box, which I do not mind, it is nice knowing that when stored that all should be protected.
The bits look OK, the bits cut fine although can be a little rough to start with.
The bits have done what I needed them to do, so I cannot complain, and with general usage they should be OK.
These bits seem to be adequate quality for the price.
Yes there are branded more expensive and probably sharper onces on the market, but for me doing DIY at home these are more than adequate for getting large holes drilled into wood.
Nice and sharp, center point jab into timber and stop it from sliding. Works with my small drill driver and kicks out wood chippings with a nice finishing straight cut side wall.
It comes in a box with individual plastic cup to keep it nice and tidy, all different common size as a kit.
Hi, they do look and seem cheap, they come individually boxed, but I don’t think it’s a bad set, I use them in my bench drill press and they work fine, it’s something I won’t probably use a lot, but are there when I need, they’re better than my old round set that I have to build to put together to be able use
I only tried one out on a bit of old decking and it cut alright, it was a bit difficult to start as it wanted to skip but I just pressed down harder and it bit and started to cut, it’s moving about a bit in my video because I was doing it one handed but with two hands it cut pretty well.
They come in a nice range of sizes and all have there own plastic case, I do not often drill holes much larger than an inch in wood and normally use standard wood drills most of which are well past there sell by date so it’s good to have a nice set like this handy for when I need to cut large holes in timber.
Great set of forstner bits – I purchased these for making tealight holders. Drilled a decent hole with the bit using a hand drill. Can’t comment just yet on longevity but seem worth the price so far!

clearly these are for a pillar drill but my hand drill managed to get a fairly good cut with these, as long as you have enough torque.
measuring them they were no more than 0.3mm over the stated size with none being under.
cannot comment on durability ye
