This is a great little gadget for teens who love to watch their phones while playing on games to help with missions (so I’m told, I don’t understand how they can do both at once but oh well!)
Great value for money when bought on a deal
Bought this for my boyfriend and he thought it was a great idea as he frequently watches videos when stuck on a difficult part of a game. Just need to see him actually use it more
Easy to use, holding my phone securely and safely, yet allowing me to remove it easily without damaging or scratching it. Sturdy and intuitive when it comes to its functionality.
Unfortunately if you’re using Android you won’t be able to get Remote Play to actually work when using the PS5 official controller, bear that in mind. It will link with BT via sync and home linking but there’s no support for casting with the controller on any Android device as of yet.
I set my phone up as if it was connected and just simulcasted the PS5 home screen to see what the angles were like and the holding capabilities for the frame. It felt balanced and I wasn’t worried my phone would drop and the eye line was perfect.
I can still give an honest review, I believe on the holder itself because once they push an update to the app it will work just the same. The holder is great!
It works well and fits snugly over the PS5 controller. You have a clasp at the bottom that’s a bit fiddly to lock but once on its secure. You have two tightening nuts which sit below the phone and they hold at your desired position. It’s a light see through plastic but feels strong. The center is cut out so you can still use the touchpad.
Unfortunately I was unable to take a picture as my phone was obviously sat on it.
I used my P30 Pro and the phone holder expanded easily with room for larger width screens. It held securely when I jolted to simulate movement.
Just need the update now and I’ll be able to remote play! Sort it out Sony! I’m genuinely excited for this. I used to on-screen controller to access some games and they looked great so I know this is going to be used a hell of a lot.
One last thing, if like me you have a protector on your controllers you won’t get this over a silicon/rubber. It fits just right – millimetre perfect -when using directly onto the controller.
I’ve been playing a lot of remote play on my laptop and have been wanting to use my phone, I decided to get this since I assumed my dualsense would work with my Sony phone (it would only make sense right?).
Well… it doesn’t, I’m not sure about iOS but on android the dualsense does not work with remote play, I can use it wired to control my menu but not my remote play app, very annoying.
Anyways, this is meant to be a review about this phone mount, not Sony’s dualsense or remote play.
It’s pretty simple and feels quality. Clip it on to you controller and put your phone on it, tighten the knob and boom, you’re done, it feels very sturdy and doesn’t make my controller feel front-heavy.
Would definitely recommend but make sure you have a use for it first!
The only negative is that the phone grip can interfere with you phone’s side buttons, in my case the volume controller, meaning you have to move the phone more to one side.
Another thing to be aware of is that this is currently no good for Android devices as they are not yet compatible with the PS5 DualSense controller (although hopefully will be soon). Apple devices are compatible as long as they have IOS 14.5 or higher.
