Given places like Curry’s don’t do these and charge double for what they do offer, this I’d well priced. I used it for an external drive for photos. The quality is very good and the cable used is nice and thick. This is a good buy and it works fine.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had a Bluetooth device on my sun visor that wouldn’t charge. The charging cable was lit and warm but nothing happened. It was ages before I knew the connection was usb mini b and could only find the cable on Amazon . It worked, the device was fine and I have an under water camera which needs the same connection for which I had lost the charger. Two devices brought back to life for the price of one.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersBefore it’s arrival, life had been a conveyor of bland disappointments. A daily grind through drizzle; trudging toward my final hour.

But then, one grey Tuesday, the Amazon Basics Male USB to mini USB arrived and suddenly opportunities opened up. The invites flooded in. I became a social butterfly, mixing with dazzling Hollywood stars, firmly shaking the hands of business leaders and being interviewed for Time magazine. They named a town after me and a bronze statue appeared in Westminster.

I was going to purchase a micro USB version but I’m not sure I can handle the attention.

My original Sat Nav cable finally broke, and let’s face it, never really did the job right anyway.

I bought this cable after one of the local driving instructors recommended it as one of the most reliable for multiple makes of Sat Nav. For the first time in 3 years my Sat Nav is actually charging, rather than just running while it’s connected.

It’s a good sturdy cable too, so less chance of the wires in it becoming damaged or broken.

My last wire for my hard drive gave up on me and saw this one but this is better than my last wire it’s thicker and sturdier than my last one and is longer than my last one it’s completely perfect I’ll buy another at some point as a replacement/back up I can now watch my favourite films and programmes on my hard drive when there is nothing on the TV.

This wire is a great buy and well worth the money I would recommend to anyone a price of advice check your connection before buying so you know your buying the right one. I went to one place near to me they wanted more than I was willing to pay and glad I found it on here – Thank you I’m happy now

No longer a common or much used form of USB cable although selected devices still use it and it is popular for use with ranges of products from certain brands, e.g. Brother tape and paper label printers.

The “Amazon Basics USB 2.0 A-Male to Mini-B Cable 1.8 m / 6 Feet” is required to replace an OEM-supplied cable that is no longer functional. It is possible for connections in the very fine cabling required to include one or more ‘dry’ joints or one or more to be improperly soldered so that repeated flexing at a particular point of a cable may be sufficient to break the solder junction; there is no easy means to validate or repair only to replace!

The cabling in this seems to be thicker than that employed in similar cables previously purchased, possibly it has a thick sleeve. It should be quite wear-resistant when repeatedly used.

A great many AmazonBasics cables were purchased over time, in a variety of formats and for many functions, many of which are in daily or very regular use; some are infrequently used and a few exist as personal spares or as part of an ’emergency cable kit’ that is often carried on client visits as a means to isolate or resolve reported issues. Those then used are replaced ASAP and beneficially billed to the client.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI got this as a replacement for a Huion tablet cable which had stopped working. As with all AmazonBasics items, this did the trick just fine, with solid build quality (as far as a basic cable is concerned).

I do think this kind of cable could definitely be sold a little cheaper though, especially given the rapid uptake of USB C, for which you can get cables at only slightly more than this one cost. Mini USB is on its way out, but I guess the gold plated connectors might justify the slightly higher cost – who knows!

In any case, if you want a reliable replacement cable, this one will suit you just fine, and hopefully stand the test of time, as most AmazonBasics items tend to do!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNeeded one of these cables and opted for the AmazonBasics simply down to the cost and thinking these are ‘all the same’. Actually this cable is remarkably well constructed with a thick cable and decent solid moulded plugs at each end which engender a sense of quality about it. The connectors too are gold plated too.

One other thing I quite liked is that the smaller Mini-B connector is long enough to fit into some devices that other lesser cables can’t. For example, for some reason on my old digital SLR camera – the USB output connector was just very slightly recessed into the camera body. This meant that the last cable I had tried didn’t make contact correctly and I couldn’t access the camera via USB. This AmazonBasics cable plugged in and worked perfectly, even with the slightly recessed socket…

    Would highly recommend this cable.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersDoes the job. People pay more for interconnects either for the quality of the wire between the connectors, or for the quality of the connectors themselves. Since I bought this for a satnav, the former consideration is irrelevant, but for the quality of connectors, these are average, and not the nice firm grip you usually get from more expensive alternatives. It wouldn’t normally matter, but the cable to my satnav goes in at the bottom, so gravity is working against me. Don’t get me wrong, the cable stays in place, but it doesn’t take much effort to pull it free, annoying if you catch the cable accidentally. But for most applications I’m sure this cable will be just fine.
