Bought these for my granddaughter for Xmas. They hatched and she loves them. There’s a tank full now and they’re much bigger than expected. It’s a pity they can’t move into a bigger tank that you can buy things like fish tank ornaments.
I have bought this as a Christmas present so can not give the review about the toy. Will up date at later date.
My granddaughter wanted these so we will give them a try.
I remember having these from when I was a kid bit they were a different brand then. I saw these and wanted to try them again and loved this tank. The light makes a big difference and I’m so happy with them! Even at my age I’m still fascinated and excited about these! The video is 5 days after purchase.
We hatched lots of eggs! Hundreds lol. Day by day they kept disappearing. I didn’t oxygenate the water daily as stated at first so this could have been a factor. We are on day 11 and we still have 3 left and they’ve grown so much! Can see all their features. My daughter really enjoyed watching them grow and taking care of them
Is really amazing, I was so enthusiastic to have one of these for my 3 year old son, for the first 2 days they were a lot of them, but I think they died and now I have 4 , one is really tiny so I think it was born yesterday, the other 3 are bigger and still growing….I hope they will continuing growing , I preferred to buy this one aqua dragons deluxe because have lights included, I read that this fishes love light so is really helpful and you can see them in the dark
These are great. They are really small to begin with but grow to about 1cm. When there’s no aqua dragons left they rehatch. You just need to give them time. Our pack lasted for over a year, as they would die off, and then the new eggs would hatch, and again and again.
My niece love these!! Great gift for kids! And also hilarious to watch my sister trying to keep them alive! (They’re easy don’t worry). Great gift to get kids interested in the aquatic world.
Very good kit especially in teaching children how to look after an animal. However after only getting it two months ago one of the lights went out. I appreciate this is not the people who made the kits fault and could just be the battery but one light still works perfectly fine. We have had great fun in the morning coming down to look at our sea monkeys. We might need a bigger tank though as they seem to be very happy with the family growing by the second.
Didn’t use the kit until a couple of weeks after Xmas, and was disappointed as I didn’t think anything had hatched, but after about a week, I had hundreds of babies swimming about, and a couple of months later, we’ve got probably about 20 adults who are mating, so I imagine we’ll have babies again soon! Well worth the money!
I thought ours hadn’t worked. Followed instructions to a T but couldn’t see anything with the magnifying glass after over 2 weeks. Left it on the side for another week then decided to throw the water away and spotted lots of tiny little ones swimming around. Doing fine now 🙂
Well.. This didn’t work. We followed the instructions exactly. We got one or two “dragons” then they disappeared (although they were so tiny it could have been debris). The box design is nice with the light, but can easily be tipped over losing everything. Considering this is aimed at young children it’s a terrible design. Also my son dropped the lid inside the tank. Without emptying the tank this us proving impossible to take out. Nice idea. Terrible design. Didn’t work.
Absolutely amazing. My daughter is so happy. After being told these would be a waste of money ect I honestly cannot recommend these enough. She decided to buy them with a gift card she had received for her birthday. 2days In and the tank was full of little wriggly creatures. 5days in and you can now see them moving about with the naked eye.
All I can say is wow I used to have sea monkeys a very long time but they never hatched i came across the aqua dragons kit so I thought i will get one after reading reviews on the product I ordered myself one it advised to put bottled water into the tank so I did i filled it put the eggs in and after I did that they hatched i have over 200 little baby dragons swimming around the tank comes with a blue led light to see them better at night i cannot wait to see how they progress over the next few weeks this is a must for kids and adults
I would definitely recommend this product. My children aged 5 and 7 (and myself) are in amazement watching something hatch and grow right in front of us.
This is a great first hand experience for children!
Comes in a small cute tank with lights and everything you need to help them grow. We are very excited about these.
I very nearly sent this back as after the eggs appeared to hatch we had no activity for days and days. Assumed they had all died but then about a week or so later saw movement using the magnifying glass and a week on from that the aquadragons are clearly visible without the magnifying glass. My daughter loves watching them now.
Bought these as I wanted a pet but due to work and an already crowded house my options were limited. Now on day 3 and we have had quite a few hatch. Fingers crossed they keep growing. Tank does the job but could they do a more adult version for us big kids? A more stylish shape maybe without the cartoon pictures? Better instructions would also help. I followed the instructions from another review and all seems ok so far. Do I just drop the food in on the surface or should I stir it up? Nothing mentioned.
Amazing, I had sea monkeys when I was younger so knew this would be a good gift for my son, never for a second did i think we would have so many aqua dragons, there’s hundreds, we have followed the instructions, made sure we used bottled water, made sure the water temperature was at least 20, and feeding and adding air to the water daily. So far the little critters seem to be thriving, the light is a god send as it’s helped us see them as eggs and and as they start growing which we would have struggled to see without the light.
I’d actually say me and my fiance are probably more excited about this than our son lol, I think he will start watching them more as they get a little bigger, but he does love feeding them.
This was a gift for my son’s 8th birthday and he was thrilled! He loves all creatures and was desperate for a pet of his own but with allergies in the family and a lack of space for large aquariums, this turned out to be the perfect compromise. The light is a nice little feature though more of a novelty. Our eggs hatched and developed well and we were all fascinated with the “aqua dragons”. We did however, encounter something of a disaster a couple of weeks in. I’ve heard of these tanks getting knocked over so when we got ours I blu tacked the base to the surface it sits on. Unfortunately, one morning while running a bit late for school my son swept past a little too closely and knocked the tank with his school bag. The clear plastic part snapped off the turquoise base (which was secured with the blu tack) and the water spilled out along with my son’s beloved pets, which were then invisible on the carpet. He screamed loudly in panic, I ran downstairs and rescued what I could (about half). My son was devastated but I tried to assure him we had saved them all We topped back up with spring water and the little creatures have continued to grow and reproduce. I fixed the base back together with more blu tack and we are now extra careful, but please bare that in mind when finding the perfect location for yours!
Overall, we have enjoyed having aqua dragons in the family and they have reproduced well and been easy to look after (as long as nobody knocks them over).
Bought for my son, and so far we’ve had no issues. We’re on day 5 and they are doing just fine.
I kept these as a child, and the little ecosystem actually kept for a year or so, would have continued had I not lost interest :/
The trick is to use bottled water or distilled, and DON’T feed them the day after hatching – wait until a day or two after as they eat the food in their cysts first (adding the powered algae on top of this will pollute the water and kill them)
Only feed when they have eaten all the crap in their tank thereafter – these little guys are cleaners – so feeding every 5 days is reasonable.
Please can the seller contact me as there is no option for me to do this. My daughter loves her sea dragon’s and they have hatched and are growing well. Unfortunately the tank has a small leak (it has only been set up a few days) I was hoping we could arrange for a replacement to be sent out. Other than this small fault, it’s a good purchase. Thanks
Bought as a present for my 4-year-old daughter, she absolutely loves it. Easy to set up, and within 2 days there were visible hatchlings swimming around the tank. After a week there are now loads of the little creatures swimming around, the blue LED light in the bottom of the tank shows them up really well and makes it easy for her to watch them going about their business.
The tank is light but feels sturdy, and the supplied packet of food should have enough inside to last a fair while.
Was a bit worried about doing this after Xmas regarding the water temperature, but it seems fine.
It is not a fast process for them growing – 5 weeks later and our dragons are getting bigger but still half the size of a grain of rice – whilst at the start there seemed like hundreds of tiny dots they were not very interesting to my children as they were so tiny – now they are noticeable moving around with the naked eye it is more appealing, but the numbers are definitely significantly lower, I think we are probably down to less than ten (not sure what is normal?!). Not sure how long it takes for them to grow to max size or then how long before they die…
The lights seem to flicker sometimes which is not great, but definitely would still recommend having the lights as they are much easier to see for the first couple of weeks when they are so tiny.
The set up is quick and easy and we are now watching the little water creatures get bigger each day. They are so tiny you can’t see them at first. It takes time for the creatures to grow and we have only had the set for a week but so far it is a hit. I hope to continue and not die after some weeks more.
The parcel that arrived gave me the impression that it was a large gift. Once packing was removed a small but compact aquarium was revealed. My grand-daughter was over the moon as it was Aqua Dragons – however I was a little disappointed that all it contained was a small tank like container with eggs and food with a feeding tube. I had also purchased an extra pack of eggs and seeds for 5.99 which were identical to what was enclosed in the box. All that matters is she got what she wanted and I am probably just being a grouch over a piece of plastic.
