Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNot too sure what I was going to get, however the augers are well made and strong. Tried them out on ordinary type soil all went
Well then hit dry hard clay. I set the drill on hammer setting and it coped well.
Best to lift the auger out on reverse and don’t push to hard when drilling, a firm pressure on the drill is sufficient.

This is the first time I have used an auger to make holes for planting, it is large enough to make holes for plants grown in small pots as well as planting bulbs. It make planting very easy, better that using a trowel which can be hard on the hands when planting large numbers of bulbs. A fast and time saving method of planting.

Wow! I bought these to secure a greenhouse base stakes into the ground and the large one worked a treat.
Today I have been using the smaller one to plant bulbs and the time that it saves is amazing and makes the job quick and simple.
I was telling a friend about this and it turns out he’s been using them for years

I would highly recommend these Auger bits
They make planting easy and quick in soft garden soil

Have now used these widely all over the garden. If the builders hadn’t left so much rubble, the task would have been a lot easier. Valuable tool if slightly flimsy.

Bought these for my daughter to use. When I tried to use the large one it jambed against a stone and jarred my wrist, but once is got the stone out of the way it did a great job. No signs of any welds failing yet but we will see.

Works really well, I used it to make the holes for concreting in some 33mm round metal fence posts. It needs a fairly hefty drill to power it, my 20v cordless one struggled a bit in fairly heavy soil when 30cm down. Once down at the limit
in the soil, you need to withdraw it and remove any adhering sticky soil before continuing.

Used to make holes in the soil for fence posts.
It done the job it intended to do.
Snagged a few times if it hit a root or stone, damaged the thread but still usable.
Saved me time and that was the main reason for purchase .

I bought this to plant meadow flowers in my lawn. I pricked the flowers out into peat pots, drilled a hole in the lawn and planted the peat pot. Worked a treat, very pleased.

Robust enough for hardish ground , only used for planting bulbs and bedding not post holes may need something more powerful than a battery drill for that . My advice is check grounds not stoney or full builders rubble

This drill bit is amazing!! Wish I had one years ago! I’ve made six pilot holes in the ground in five minutes!! Saves the spade work!!
I needed to make some holes for decking supports apx 200mm (8 inches) square and to a depth of the same. As I have arthritis in my pelvis spade work is very difficult for me. With this auger I can make four holes then dig out the rest with a bit more ease.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery quick to make holes for my bamboo, but keep the clutch on medium as there’s a heck of a snatch if you hit a tree root or other large obstructio

Not quite sure whether it’s the angle or density of the spiral, or the sharpness of the edge or point (or a combination of) but for whatever reason, while these auger bits are functional, they are nowhere near as good as they could be (as evidenced by another brand version I have). Should be fine if you have easy to moderate ground to go through but wouldn’t recommend for anything above that.

Bought this auger drill bit having seen a different advert elsewhere…and its great…used at the allotment, in soil that had already been rotavated and it was great…as others say the hole can refill…I found it best to water the soil and allow that to drain in (as it had been dry for several days)…then drill down, and pull drill in and out a few times to make a clean hole…planted my seed potatoes with a lot less fuss, less strain on the back – and quicker. Just a note that I bought these for the larger bit…however I was quite surprised how small the smaller bit was….but I hadn’t looked at the dimensions that closely…having said that…will probably cause less disturbance if planting small bulbs in the garden. But my potato planting was priority!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersHello fellow Amazonians
I would beat about the bush- these tools are FANTASTIC! Soil is no match and these tools will clear a good sized hole both width and depth. Weedy soil can be rucked up and the weeds removed. Stony soil will make the augur clunk but those stones will come out with encouragement.

My neighbour, who was planting a row of privet with help from a friend, used the augur to dig the planting trench. What was expected to be an all day job, was reduced to only a couple of hours (and the privet looks lush and happy). The friend, I was informed, had gone home and bought a set of these augurs for his own use. I would say that alone speaks volumes for this product.

Two things I would mention; 1. The augur does not like roots. Take care if toiling near established plants or trees. Nothing especially bad happens, but the blade does get stuck and a little tangled. 2. I have used this with a WIRED drill. I expect a cordless would be great too, bearing in mind the battery life will affect the quality of the augur turn as the power diminishes.

This really is a great time and effort saver, it prevents the need to slog away digging and forking over soil. What was an impulse buy from an ad on Facebook, has changed the way I garden my beds forever.
