I had some problems logging into my account, but in the end I was able to get everything sorted out thanks to the great customer support. This scanner has unique features that I didn’t even expect. Unfortunately, individual components cannot be controlled and launched (which is what I expected with a two-way tool), but on the other hand, the diagnostic options and especially the range of car brands and models are almost unlimited. The only brand I have found not supported so far is Rolls Royce.
i like everything about the scan tool but what lets it down is you only get one year free updates. But it is a great scan tool does a lot of service options for lots of cars i wish i had gone for the bt version of this tool if you are into car diagnostics i would have gone for the Autel MaxiSys MS906 PRO this is what i would have if i could afford it. This is the first time i have used autel product and im very pleased with my purchase. just used it to do dpf forced regen worked perfectly.
Struggled initially to get my Autel account working which made updates hard however; an email to Autel customer services sorted the issue out and I can now operate on all vehicles as required. Easy to use with extremely good YouTube clips to support if required. A + bit of kit.
Had a DPF red warning on my Fpace. Take to dealer.
Thought I’d try this out. Followed on screen instructions for a dynamic regeneration and then cleared the code. No more limp mode and my DPF filter is back with the limits.
Paid for itself with this alone. And it is loaded with other features.
This is a fantastic piece of kit, I wanted my own diagnostics because I was sick of paying the mechanics 50 a go for a plug in! This machine is easy to use, very quick and accurate and has already helped me with problems, it can do everything I need it to do (scan faults, clear codes, forced regens, key programming) it can do so much and can actually do more than the snap on’s and they’re thousands of pounds! If you’re thinking about this, just do it! Free updates for a year. No braine
Does everything I need. Only issue I’ve found is it doesn’t have the option to reprogram keys for most cars, tried it on ford and Vauxhall all the other functions work as expected
It’s a genuine product!! That was my only concern, I searched the Internet for months, going from website to website, amazon store to store to try and find a genuine unit.. I took the risk and ordered from Best-Q, nervously went to the Autel website to try and register the unit and boom, registered, warranty is active and I’ve used the unit multiple times for mobile breakdowns and faults. Plenty of functions on it which I’m yet to use but I’m honestly so happy with this thing and glad I got one.
Having worked in the trade for 30yrs I’ve used all sorts of diag kit, dealer, snap on, bosch, delphi, etc, I found myself due to current climate having to come out of semi retirement and do a bit of mobile mechanics, and needed a diag kit for general use, didn’t want cheap as needed the special functions, didn’t want expensive as couldn’t afford it. I have to say having used this for 6 weeks now its a great little machine, I have used it to reset service lights, carry out epb repairs, code injectors, dpf regens, diag various faults engine, airbag, abs, a/c, I have worked on a range of vehicles mini, bmw, ford, vauxhall, mercedes, vw, peugeot, audi, renault, porsche, jaguar, cars and vans from 2002 to 2018 and its worked faultlessly everytime, obviously not every function is available for every vehicle but I have found it a great very useful everyday tool that has covered all of my needs on general car repair work, and i’ve only charged the battery twice in 6 weeks, very good value for money
I could not give it 5 stars as I just started using the tool on my Citroen C3 Picasso 2011 plate , works well some stuff not supported , This is a genuine tool as I checked with Autel when registering the tool, it does read all the modules on the vehicle ,even identified my fog light was disconnected, if you not into coding and programming & do not require bi directional control, this tool will do most of the things you require it to do, great tool for the price, will be doing a review between Launch CRP429C and the MK808 in the near future
I brought this after watching a few YouTube videos, I work on my own car and van and lately, have been having issues with the pair of them, I found this scanner to be very intuitive/easy to use. It scans the van so much deeper than my Carista dongle and has a great feature that you can link onto your phones WiFi hotspot, once it has found a fault code you can hit the search button and it will take you to relevant pages regarding that fault code. Saves so much time. You can also use it for searching the web, put other apps on it. It has a decent little carry case.
Like many of you, I rarely leave reviews. This product, however, warrants it. Whether you use it on one or multiple vehicles, it will still pay for itself quickly.
The bottom line: It is well worth the money and has many uses if you are DIY oriented. It will save you hundreds of $$$ immediately.
Recently I had to tow one Jeep (TJ) on an auto transport with our other Jeep (08 XK) as the tow vehicle for a trip into the mountains. The tow vehicle began exhibiting drive train issues about two weeks before the trip and began displaying the “service 4wd” error on the VIC. I drove it as it was until my wife called me one morning saying the vehicle made a grinding noise from underneath and had no power.
I tried all of the known methods to clear the code myself, as well as using another brand’s BT reader to retrieve the code. The other brand’s reader would only give me the base code relating to the PCM and nothing more. I cleared this code but it immediately came back. Off to the dealer I went. The dealer used the Snap-on version of the unit sold here to clear the codes. At this point we are two days away from the trip. That same night, I ordered the Autel unit and Amazon had it to me the next day.
After the dealer cleared the PCM codes all was well. The XK had full power, 4LO and 4HI worked just fine. We left on our trip and the XK did just fine. I will mention that I never keyed off the ignition until we reached our final destination 600 miles away. The day after arrival I went to move the XK and it immediately threw the “service 4WD” VIC message once again. I hooked up the Autel unit, scanned for codes and cleared them, just as the dealer did. On the return trip there were no errors at all and, once again, I never keyed off the ignition until we were home.
A few days later, my wife said the CEL was on so I scanned it once again with the Autel. Several codes were found, including the “service 4WD” error. I cleared all but the power train codes because, after multiple scans, I was seeing a pattern. The issue was with the transfer case shifter motor. I called the dealer to ask if this was covered under my (lifetime) powertrain warranty. To my surprise it was! This alone paid for the unit and then some as the dealer replaced not only the shifter motor, but the associated wiring harness as well.
On to the next vehicle – we have a Honda Fit in the fleet that runs great. Several years ago, the second key to the vehicle was lost. The dealer wanted $250 for a new key and another $100 to program it. Here on Amazon I purchased two new key blanks with the immobilizer chip for $19. I took them to the dealership we bought the car from and they charged me $16 to cut both keys. Within 10 minutes after returning home, I had both new keys programmed to the car with the Autel unit. Amazing.
The unit is very intuitive and the company pushes updates all the time. When you first setup the unit, you may have to wait a while for all the updates to finish. Take this time to charge the internal battery to 100% while you do something else. It is well worth the money and it saved a cross-country trip.
It’s a little bit overpriced for the functionality that is offering, unfortunately it didn’t work for my car -having an 9-5 /2011- but it looks very professional. I had tried insignia instead but still not luck ,so sadly I had to returned it .
I brought this for my dad for his job and he is very impressed. He advised it is easier to use than the snapon one and you get free updates for a year which is a bonus. All round thumbs up
