Needed to replace my older diagnostic Laptop, to cover newer makes and models.
so far, every vehicle I have used it on has been compatible, found the ABS Brake bleeding to be
excellent, with diagnostic and service functions separate there no need to go through diagnostics to reset service parameters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Professional automotive scanner, with 31 service options, and HD touch scree

Great tool for professional use does everything what it needs. Lots of functions.
All could ask more with it is to be more bit faster and to have holder for obd dongle.
Apart from those its a top notch tool.

I have been astounded with the capability of this tool, from diagnostics to ECU coding, key coding, headlight alignment, DPF, SCR etc… the MS906BT truly has you covered and is a must have for any automotive work!

It offers tremendous abilities and features for the money & is able to perform actions that typically require tools of 3 X it’s value!

The Autel support is also amazing should you require any technical support! 😀

Having used generic diagnostic equipment, from various manufacturers, for many years – I now have the new ‘go to’ unit.
Was getting fed up with Launch/Snap-on not being able to carry out some quite simple procedures which Autel can do.
I do understand that no machine can do every job – which is why I have a number of units at my disposal, including main dealer equipment – however this Autel unit has done all I have asked of it, so far and is very quick and easy to use.

The user interface looks good and is very clear. The whole unit is tough and all parts and accessories fit away tidily in its own case.

I would certainly recommend this unit without hesitation.

The team totally love how versatile and functional the entire kit was. The service to support and aftersales was also quite impressive.
This kit is a cut above others. Definitely would recommend it.

So far I like it for,the little time I,ve tried it, it’s easy to use, and so far so good to that it really feels or is a genuine tool rather than been sold a grey duff import with the seller ripping you off, this I would say is not the case.it updates from Autel with no probs, everyone impressed that has seen the scan tool so far, and it comes from the seller who is very helpful willing to help in any way if any probs arise, all has been perfect with the scanner.for the price, the scanner covers every system on vehicles including tests you dont expec

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAutel Review for the MS906 BT from AutelChoice

Just picked up this MS906BT from the seller AutelChoice and I couldn’t be more pleased. I’ve used Autel scan tools previously and always rated them, but I wanted to invest in a more comprehensive product and the 906 fitted my needs well.

Having tried a number of different products from different brands, including a wired, non-Bluetooth version of the 906 at a friends garage, I was leaning more and more to this product. My friend rated his 906 highly, it had seen a good few years service and he claimed it was his go to tool outside of the manufacturer’s own diagnostic software (for which he pays a huge annual licence subscription for).

I didn’t need the extra capability of the MS908 or the added expense of its purchase and updates, the 906BT was just the job. I have no regrets.

With all that said, when you begin to look around at purchasing online you will find these and similar products for sale from all sorts of outlets. Sometimes their prices can look attractive, but read the small print and you can find service lacking if you have any issues.

If a return is needed, some devices have to be returned to China, despite having been shipped from a U.K. warehouse.
The reassurance of purchasing through Amazon can help alleviate any such return issues if your device runs into problems.

Some units from other sellers can be IP address blocked, leaving new owners suddenly unable to register their product or obtain the needed updates in their country.

I also found that during the research I was doing for this purchase, Autel had started to brand the front of their products simply with ‘Autel’ and no longer as before with ‘MaxiSYS MS906BT’.

If I was going to spend this amount of money on a tool, I wanted it to be genuine, updatable and as new as possible.

The help and advice I got from AutelChoice prior to actually purchasing this was excellent, with them being able to confirm stock in the U.K. that had next day delivery, the fact that is was the newer model just branded with ‘Autel’ and confirmation that it wasn’t an IP blocked device.

That’s exactly what I got with this item, and these newer versions also have 64GB internal storage, no longer 32 GB. That was a pleasant surprise and I hadn’t seen mention of that online or even in the instructions!

Registering the product directly with Autel was simple and straightforward and once done, the device indicated 26 updates available. These were a mix of system, app and vehicle data files.

That all went well and I began to try out some of the functionality.
The in depth scanning ability on this thing is on a par with OEM equipment.
Control units that don’t even get looked at on cheaper devices are read quickly and efficiently with this device. It really is very impressive.

Another nice surprise was the application of a screen protector, something I was anticipating having to get and apply myself.

Used successfully on a 2020 XC40, it found and cleared a fault within the climate control unit, cleared a simple oil service light on a 2015 Astra, scanned and cleared a brake control module fault on a 2012 Peugeot Expert van and scanned and cleared an intermittent fault on a powered tailgate belonging to a 2015 XC60.

Reporting functionality is built in and comprehensive, enabling users to create professional looking scan reports with their own headers, logos, Invoice details etc. which is ideal for some folks.

All in all, if you want a really comprehensive do it all tool that can even carry out coding of keys and control units, you’d do well to pick up one of these newer 906 models.

Yearly updates seem to be around the 400-500 mark, but I’ve not looked into these too closely at this stage.
Updates are frequent from what I’ve seen so far and you can choose to have them arrive and install automatically or pick them manually.

The device won’t stop working when your included first year of updates ends, you just won’t receive any further updates until you renew.

I hope this helps anyone sat on the fence about getting one of these.

This product although it seems expensive is great value for money and very easy to use considering what it can do and the fact it is so advanced, the sellers description and title is very accurate and it was delivered to me in very good time. To anyone considering buying one if you need to diagnose faults on a vehicle that that will take you ages with a multimeter and scope or you have no idea what the fault is and cheap scanners will not work then I urge you to buy this tool.

Bought this for my workshop, have used it on quite a few vehicles now. It’s so far been fantastic and done everything I’ve asked of it. Resetting service lights on several vehicles. Including BMW brake pads and epb. A really in-depth machine easy to use, goes into everything. well worth the money seems better than or equal to a lot of far more expensive machines. Seems to do everything and more than the snap-on code readers and is an 8th of the price. Highly recommended and would buy again.

Been using one of these scanners professionally for a few years. So it was time to buy my own. Its coverage of vehicles is fantastic. Simple to use and quick. Recommend for any professional mechanic.

Bought to upgrade from older autel diagnostic as it wouldn’t diagnose a “service engine soon” on vauxhall corsa 1.3 diesel. Not only did it tell me that it was a glow plug it told me that it was on cylinder 1 and was able to perform a test that gave 12.6ohm result for number 1 glow plug and 0.5ohm on the other 3. I then used it on my insignia and showed a few minor faults which were not causing any warnings / service warnings. It was also able to diagnose my Renault trafic faults. I’ve now fixed all 3 vehicles and have 0 faults on all. Best diagnostic reader I’ve used and I’ve not yet learnt all that it can do.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe tablet software is easy to navigate through and registration of the device was easy! The price is high, but the gamble of taking the plunge and buying this model was worth it! It’s
costing over 200 to update the unit but that’s hopefully every five years for me! It’s been three months now, and helped me immensely to accurately diagnose fault! The fancy Snap On reader my local garage uses, is now as obsolete to me as the 25 fee they charged for every diagnosis! The Bluetooth device is wonderful, just don’t forget to unplug it from your customers car! I have had success with Vw, Skoda, Kia, Ford, Audi, Seat, Peugeot, Hyundai, and not been let down yet… My only negative comment on the tablet itself, is the fact that there is no protective travel sheath/ bag, nor screen cover for the unit! You have to buy these separately!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWas looking for a decent diagnostic tool to save me borrowing the Snap on and much older Autel tools from work. The Snap on tools are incredibly overpriced, lack alot of functionality and the data lists are extremely limited compared to the older generation Autel we have at work, have also found alot of standard fault codes come up undocumented code on the snap on machine. The VIN read and auto i.d is so much better then the snap on and have had alot of cars the snap on cant auto i.d or communicate with but the Autel will, everytime.
So when it came to buy my own, Autel was my first choice, i know how great these machines are, this is much faster then our older Autel, superb value for money, all the functionality i need and the plug in dongle does away with the lead and box like the older Autel, is just a nice tidy upgrade.
If you are a garage or even hobbyist, i strongly recommend this machine, i have friends with various generation autels, everyone loves them, for the price point you will not find better, remappers love these as the data lists are comprehensive and probably 10 times the size of the snap on lists on some vehicles. I have had cars on snap on with dpf faults, but there is no dpf pressure data in the list (really helpful) plug the autel in and there you have all the dpf pressure data and so then further testing is possible. (So why did my boss pay 5k for a snap on paperweight?)
Live this little machine, small, compact, fast, has all the connectors for older generation car i need, incredibly tough storage box, if your after a new diagnostic tool then look no further. Go for the 908 if you want ecu reprogramming function, but i have a friend that does that so the MS906BT was the perfect choice.
I did have a few small issues with machine when it was delivered, but after contacting seller who quickly replied we both came to the conclusion that was some form of issue during delivery, they apologised, offered an exchange if id prefer and then offered me a small compensation for me to arrange my own satisfactory resolution, so i kept the perfectly working brand new machine, sorted out my issues with the compensation they offered. Love this little tool, very happy with it and the resolution, would definitely purchase all over again knowing what i know now. Satisfied customer. Buy this tool.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersI run a vehicle remapping business and needed a high quality diagnostic tool. I have tried a few and eventually settled for the MS906BT. This is an outstanding tool and you will struggle to find better in terms of value and features.

I was instantly impressed with this tool. It arrived nicely packaged with a hard-plastic case to house the tablet, ODB cable, chargers and adapters. The case is robust and perfect to keep the tool safe in a workshop environment. The OBD cable and adapters will allow you to work with 99% of vehicles. The following adapters are included:

    Chrysler-16 / BMW-20 / Kia-20 / Nissan-14 / GM/Daewoo-12 / Honda-3 / VW/AUDI-2+2 / Mitsubishi/Hyundai-12+16 / Benz-38 / PSA-2 / Fiat-3

The MS906BT is well-built and designed to cope in a workshop environment. The robust plastic casing will keep the device safe. The screen is also shatter proof and is made to withstand a rough and tough environment. The design is also visually pleasing compared to other tools.

I really like the fact that this tool is wireless. The Bluetooth VCI automatically pairs with the tablet when it’s plugged in. This feature is important when test driving and performing live data logging so cables don’t get in the way of the pedals or steering wheel. I also like to scan any faults and take the tablet over to the customer so I can explain each fault to them. There is a handy light on the Bluetooth adapter to help you find the OBD port in dark environments.

The MS906BT has similar functions to the Autel MS906 and DS808. However, it has added advanced coding options depending on the ECU you are working with. The MS906 and DS808 are only capable of basic ECU coding. This tool also benefits from built-in Wi-Fi, touch screen, injector coding, immobiliser key coding, live data logging, read & clear fault codes, adaptions and more. You are getting close to dealer level diagnostics using this tool.

The tool has a brilliant 8-inch display which is touch sensitive. The screen has a resolution of 1024 x 768 with good viewing angles making it a pleasure to use.

It runs Android 4.4.4 which makes the tool extremely user friendly. If you own a smartphone or tablet, you will easily find your way around this tool. The Wi-Fi capability allows the scanner to download OS and Diagnostic Data updates which are regularly provided by Autel.

The hardware includes a powerful Samsung Exynos running at 1.3Ghz + 1.7GHz ARM Cortex A-15 accompanied with 2GB RAM which provides plenty of processing power for the tool to run smoothly. The built-in storage is 32GB but there is capability to add a Micro SD card for more storage.

Battery life is good and I have found that on average it lasts about 6 hours of continuous use on a busy day and charges quickly if you need a top up.

The MS906BT is a modern diagnostic tool which is capable of scanning a broad range of vehicles and identify faults with accuracy. The tool covers over 80 car manufacturers. It is capable of resetting faults within all modules of a vehicle including engine management and ABS. It is also capable of reprogramming keys if you are in possession of the key code from the particular dealer of a vehicle.

The advanced ECU coding options on the MS906BT allows it to do deal with installing replacement ECU’s to a vehicle, retaining and transferring VIN data to a new ECU. It is also capable of coding body electronics and add adaptations such as locking the doors, settings alarms, switching coming home and leaving home function for the lights and more. The options are endless depending on the hardware available for the specific vehicle you are working with. The MS906 and DS808 are only capable of basic coding so if you need an advanced tool, look no further.

What I like the most about this tool is the accuracy in which it can scan the ECU to provide a fault code and a full fault description. I performed a full health check on a customer’s Audi A5 using the MS906BT and it quickly identified a fault relating to a glow plug. The customer had been having issues with DPF regenerations as well which was more than likely linked to the faulty glow plug. I fitted a new glow plug, used the tool to reset the fault and performed a forced DPF regeneration. The problem was sorted and the customer was delighted with how quickly we identified the problem and fixed it. This is credit to how precise the Autel MS906BT can be.

I used the tool to work on a BMW 330d which needed 6 new injectors. The customer supplied the injectors and I fitted them following by coding using the MS906BT. Again, this was easily done without any hiccups and the customer was back on the road in no time at all.

I regularly use the tool to perform live data checks to log boost and to perform DPF/EGR checks. This allows me to ensure a vehicle is running as it should before any tuning. I also regularly use the tool to perform forced DPF regenerations to solve a number of DPF issues.

This scanner is a professional tool which is closely associated with diagnostic tools used at the major dealers. The scanner comes with AutoVIN technology. This technology will automatically identify the vehicle you are scanning saving you a lot of time trying to find the make, model and engine manually. This places the MS906BT ahead of the competition as with most tools you have to manually enter the VIN or manually find the vehicle you are working with.

The diagnosed data can be analysed in a number of ways. You can read it on screen or get a paper copy using a printer. The data remains stored in the device and you can play it back at any time in the future unless you manually delete the history record.

    CONCLUSION:

The Autel MS906BT is a fantastic tool and in terms of features and value for money, I think you will struggle to find better. I strongly recommend the device for its high quality, capability and extensive functions. I have owned other tools in the past but since owning this tool, I will always choose Autel tools. The customer support is very good and software updates are provided on a regular basis.

If you have any questions regarding the tool, please leave a comment and I will do my best to answer it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic advanced tool
