Gently pat your hair with a microfibre towel to remove excess water, taking care not to ruffle your hair cuticles.

Apply curl-defining conditioner or cream, using your fingers or a wide-toothed comb to distribute evenly from mid-lengths to tip.

Gently gather sections of hair in the diffuser plate, starting with the tips up to the roots. Move the Diffon, blowing hot air towards the scalp. Keep in place for a few seconds before moving on to other sections of your hair.

    Whilst I really like this product, I must admit it is not easy to use for those with hair longer than the waist like mine. If held on the wrong angle you hair gets dragged into the back of the dryer. It does what it says, curls are bouncy and hair dries quickly. There are two settings and I would recommend the lower especially with having longer hair. Overall it is a great product, just a warning that if you have extremely long hair like mine, you are going to have to be careful.

    I receipermed my own hair at home and this diffuser is amazing! I love it. It’s lightweight and gives me great bouncy curls. I recommend this. Dries my hair quickly. I also scrunch some VO5 Volume powder on my hair, which gives it more volume and gives me great volume bouncy curls. I love this diffuser.

    This is the best diffuser I have used, a little getting used to due to its shape but Easy to hold once you get used to it. Expensive, yes but I’ve tried 3 local hairdressers and they just can’t wash and dry naturally curly hair other than Trepadora. Biggest down side is the exceptionally poor delivery .. 10 days!

    Made a big difference to drying my wavy hair & gives me a great finish. Much easier to hold and use than a standard dryer and clip on diffuser, particularly as I have arthritis in my hands. Heat settings don’t feel that much different to me although I mostly use it on the lowest settings so doesn’t make that much difference to me. I am however disappointed the cold setting still feels quite warm and definitely warmer than other dryers I used. Also much noisier than other dryers I’ve used. Overall I’m happy with the dryer as it has made drying my wavy hair much easier and I find the shape and how you hold it much better than a standard dryer with diffuser. For me the results I get outweigh the negatives.

    does what it says on the box, but not a miracle worker. It’s handy when you dont have time to let your permed hair dry naturally, I use it to dry the back first.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had been looking at buying this dryer for quite a while. It did not disappoint.
    So far I’ve only used it once, but I was so impressed.
    Feels good to hold and position, better than a handle on a normal dryer. A good selection of heat and speeds.
    On use it was gentle to my hair. It gave me good curls with bounce and no frizz. I’ve never been excited about a hairdryer before but, I love it.

    Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve taken a while before reviewing just in case it was a fluke but I can honestly say this is the perfect answer for my curly hair. I always use the low setting and it doesn’t move my hair around at all. The best thing about it is the size and weight which make it so easy to use. I never use the main part of a hairdryer so to find completely by chance a standalone hair diffuser has been a game changer, especially as it works so well and will save loads of space in a suitcase.

    Like the different speeds/temperatures, it’s light to hold and it dries hair quickly and without frizz. Can’t see how the more expensive version could be much better, I’m really pleased with this one.

    During lock down I ditched my hair dryer and discovered I had curly hair! This specific diffuser product is easy to use and helps define curls perfectly.

    It is light (lighter than a hairdryer) and I love the effect it gives.

    I’m constantly trying to bring out the curl in my hair. All kinds of curlers and various lotions tried, but no luck. Even though my hair is relatively short it brings out my waves with loads of volume. It’s so easy to use. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

    I wanted a diffuser/dryer for curly hair for travel, this does the job nicely & was within my budget too, very happy with my purchase & it’s so lightweight & easy to use, I have been using it more often than my other diffuse

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve only discovered recently that my hair is naturally curly so have been trying lots of different things to help with styling. I’m still getting to grips with it all! I didn’t want to get a new hairdryer and so this diffuser is perfect for me. I recently took it away on a trip and it fitted nicely in my case.

    I don’t often dry my hair completely with this as it would take too long. There are only two heat settings and I keep it on the lower temp to help protect my hair. I’m still getting used to it but my curls are more defined after use.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usersbought this as old hairdryer was taking an age to dry my hair and was quite heavy. This hairdryer is much much lighter and easier to use. Drying time i havent noticed much difference but hair is less frizzy and curls are better shaped. I got this on offer at 40 odd but it doesnt have a cool air button – shame you have to spend 130 to get a basic feature found on most other hairdryers

    Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersBeen using this diffuser dryer daily for 4 months and can honestly say it’s the best dryer I have tried for my naturally curly hair. I put my usual product on the hair, diffuse dry and my hair is dry in around 15 mins. using the lowest setting. Comfortable to use, the lack of handle just takes a bit of getting used to. Air is totally controlled and does not ‘blow’ hair around. It really is all diffuser. I’m careful when recommending products but have several friends have purchased based upon my recommendation. It works for me. It’s relatively quiet for a dryer. Does not get overly hot. Only drawbacks are the lack of temp control and limited air settings. I will be purchasing the digital version, not because I am unhappy with this one but because I would like the one with temp control. This dryer is a considered purchase due to price but it has already paid for itself in efficiency and use. Love it.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this diffuser after reading the reviews and must say it’s the best diffuser I’ve used. It’s so easy to use and makes such a difference to my hair. Only downside is that there isn’t a cold air setting, just a warm and hot. Definitely recommend it.

    Golden Review Award: 446 From Our UsersI struggled to find reviews that would let me compare the more economic Diffon Ceramic with the premium Supreme model, so I ended up buying both. I’m writing this comparison in the hopes that it will allow others to make an educated choice that best suits their own needs.

    For reference, my hair is just past my shoulders, 2C/3A, fine-to-average strands, average-to-thick density, prone to fluffy frizz. For the last year I’ve been using a traditional hairdryer (Diva Edit Veloce 3800 Pro) with the Black Orchid diffuser. I ‘Pixie’ diffuse, where you turn the hairdryer off between cupping new sections of hair, and hold the diffuser still while it’s turned on, thus minimising the air-flow that causes frizz. Drying time has previously been 15 mins on low speed/medium heat, to ~90% dry, then I air-dry the rest of the way. A full air-dry takes 5 to 5 hours.

    Packaging
    ~~~~~~~~
    Ceramic arrived in a basic, thin cardboard box with inner plastic bag, no fancy inserts. Supreme arrived in a sturdy, high quality box with lid, much like an iPhone. It had a shaped plastic insert, cushioning foam pads, and the whole package was sealed in thick plastic wrap. Supreme comes with a 27x37cm velveteen flocked storage pouch with shiny inner, and a toggle drawstring fastener, which is a nice touch. The pouch is plenty big enough to contain Supreme, it’s cable and plug, and even a small bottle of mousse and gel.
    Design
    ~~~~~
    Supreme looks super classy with the gold ribs, decorative grill, and lights on its base – definitely a premium product. Ceramic is more basic looking and, while still attractive, doesn’t look quite so polished (e.g. the tips of some fingers look a bit rough, seams are more pronounced). Supreme has a flat base so it can be rested on a shelf/table with the diffuser facing upwards. Thanks to the filter cover’s curved handle, Ceramic can only be placed diffuser down which makes the cable easier to knock.

    (Weights below are taken for the main unit, on kitchen scales, with the cable off to one side)
    * Weight of current hairdryer with Black Orchid diffuser: 902g
    * Weight of Supreme: 540g
    * Weight of Ceramic: 412g

    * Diameter of Black Orchid diffuser: 15cm
    * Diameter of Supreme: 14cm inner bowl (15cm outer)
    * Diameter of Ceramic: 12.5cm inner bowl (13.5cm outer)

    Shape of fingers
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Supreme has slightly pointier fingers, with silicone buds on the tips. They protrude just enough to protect the scalp from unwanted bumps. I feel that they slide through the curls easier to dry my roots, whereas the blunt ends of the Ceramic’s fingers are more likely to press onto hair-clumps and cause wonky curls.
    Spacing of fingers
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Further apart on Supreme; 29mm vs 25mm on Ceramic, from centres of adjacent fingers. With Supreme, curls have a bit more room to form natural shapes instead of being bumped out of the way at wonky angles.

    Holes on fingers
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Supreme has slightly longer holes at the finger tips, yet smaller at each finger base, plus it has pairs of vents around the very edge of the inner bowl to channel air-flow right at the sides (Ceramic doesn’t have any edge vents). Ceramic’s holes are right on the finger tips so they are more likely to channel hot air right on to the scalp. Supreme’s finger tip holes are a few millimetres up, with a silicone bud on the very end, which I think protects your scalp a bit more from heat as well as bumps.
    Length of fingers
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Same on both models, plus they extend equally from the bowl. For reference, the longest fingers on both Diffons extend as far as the shortest fingers on the Black Orchid diffuser.

    Noise
    ~~~~~
    Supreme is noticeably louder and higher-pitched than Ceramic, even on lowest speed/temperature, but it’s no noisier than a traditional hairdryer. Ceramic, on the other hand, is quieter than a hairdryer.
    Drying temperature
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Lowest setting on Ceramic is comparable to the lowest speed/mid temperature on Supreme. Highest setting on Ceramic is like high speed/mid temperature on Supreme. So, Supreme goes slightly cooler (excluding cool shot) and slightly hotter than Ceramic on both speeds. Bear in mind that Supreme has more power anyway, so it’s not an exact match, and difficult to gauge by hand due to marginally increased air-flow. The product video says that Supreme’s temperature is regulated with 50 checks per second. I don’t believe there is a similar such temperature regulation for Ceramic, so maybe it’s more prone to fluctuation? Ceramic does feel like it continues to heat up over several minutes, unlike Supreme which reaches a temperature and stays there. I tend to turn my dryers off and on frequently during use while I ‘Pixie’ diffuse, so I didn’t notice the increase, but users who keep the Ceramic turned on all the time will probably feel it more and therefore need to keep moving.

    Unit temperature
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Supreme’s casing/handle stays noticeably cooler during prolonged use, and cools down faster when turned off. The *handle* part of neither models get particularly hot and are always comfortable to hold. However, if your fingers venture too far up to the bowl end, Ceramic will let you know about it after a few minutes.
    Cool shot
    ~~~~~~~~
    Only Supreme has a cool shot and it has 2 speeds, but it is not truly cold on either setting, just noticeably cooler than the other options. It takes around 10-15 seconds to reach its coolest temperature from the hottest/fastest setting. I think there’s a trade-off on speed vs temperature here because all the cool shot hairdryers I’ve tried are colder but blast my surface fluff about like a gale, so I’m actually quite pleased that Supreme doesn’t do that.

    Air flow (wind speed)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Unlike the other push-buttons on Supreme, the fan speed is altered with a sliding toggle switch. It’s very slightly blowier than Ceramic, but still hardly anything compared to a traditional hairdryer with diffuser. Both produce what I would describe as a hovering cloud of warmth, which is no doubt what helps to reduce frizz (i.e. it doesn’t blow shorter hairs away from their curl families). Another factor that may help to reduce frizz is the ion technology in Supreme that isn’t present in Ceramic.
    Ease of use
    ~~~~~~~~~
    I’d be repeating most of the reviewers here who say what a tremendous improvement the Diffon design is over traditional hairdryers with a diffuser attachment, so I’ll just stick to the Ceramic vs Supreme comparison. Both models are equally manoeuvrable and the weight difference is negligible. Ceramic generally requires much less thought during use owing to the single sliding switch. However, if you want to use Supreme in the same way, you can, plus it remembers the last setting when turned off and on again. I like how subsequent clicks move the temperature up, and then back down again in reverse (1,2,3,2,1 rather than 1,2,3,1,2,3). That said, I have simplified my usage of Supreme by keeping the temperature on low, and only toggling the speed switch. Afterwards I use the cool shot to set it. Note, the higher heats are very good for quickly setting areas that need extra styling product, for example, an unruly fringe or frizzy parting.

    Drying time
    ~~~~~~~~~
    Drying time is faster using Supreme by a good 5 minutes. Supreme takes about the same time as my hairdryer (15 mins), probably less due to better manoeuvrability. I imagine the time difference between Ceramic and Supreme might be greater if you fully dry your hair, but I only go as far as 90%.
    Immediate curl finish
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I don’t usually like my wash-day waves/curls and prefer them after one sleep. However, they do look more voluminous and bouncy with Supreme over Ceramic, I’m guessing because of the cool shot. Both offer the same level of definition, which is better than my hairdryer and diffuser.

    Curl longevity
    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    I sleep with my hair in a CoolNet Buff and don’t refresh, except to poke a few pieces back in to place with dry fingers. With my hairdryer and Black Orchid diffuser I got 2 very good days, 3 was a bit fluffy but fine for errands, day 4 needed a ponytail. It’s about the same with Supreme, maybe better because the waves/curls stay defined for longer, even with less product. Ceramic is still pretty good but my hair looks less voluminous over a few days, however, definition continues equally with both models.
    First use thoughts
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    First go (Supreme) photo in cream top still not fully dry or fluffed, but Wow! I’m very impressed. Diffons are so much easier to use than my hairdryer/diffuser combo. So much lighter and need less reach to get the awkward bits round the back. I skipped downstairs with a delighted “ta daaa”, and spent a good 10 minutes bobbing around like Shirley Temple. My hair just felt so bouncy even with minimal ‘house hair’ products. I can’t wait to try a Diffon dryer again with ‘out in public’ products. Second go (Supreme) photo in lilac top minimal product, fully dried and fluffed.

    Final thoughts
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Supreme is a little heavier and noisier, but the control placement, lower temperatures, and silicone-tipped fingers, make it much more comfortable to use than Ceramic. It also delivers a faster drying time overall, partly down to simplified technique, but mostly down to the bigger bowl. Both models reduce frizz more so than a traditional hairdryer with diffuser, but Supreme takes the ionic win. Over a few uses, I found that I don’t have to ‘Pixie’ diffuse at all with Supreme; the technique lessens frizz by reducing high air-flow from traditional hairdryers, but Diffon dryers don’t have that problem to begin with. However, ‘Pixie’ diffusing still benefits Ceramic because turning it off frequently helps to lessen the heat. I think if my hair was shorter or less dense, I’d be perfectly happy to carry on with Ceramic, using just the low setting, but the size of my previous Black Orchid diffuser has spoilt me, so I favour the XL Supreme for its roomier bowl and speedier finish. I am now exclusively using Supreme over all my other hair drying tools, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to all other waives and curlies. Extra bonus; A pleasing side effect of both Diffons is that I use less hair product (easily half), which will be great for offsetting the cost over time. I used to use plenty of foam and strong hold gel (both Giovanni Eco Chic) to tame the frizz, but now I can get away with 4 pumps of foam and a teaspoon of gel for the same result.
    Consider getting the Ceramic model if
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Hair is shoulder length or shorter, and low to average density. You have robust curls with coarser strands (less room in the bowl may cause wonkiness in fine, fragile curls). Your hair has less natural frizz. You don’t mind taking longer to dry. You turn your dryer off and on during use. You want something smaller/cheaper for travelling. You want no-fuss settings. You are not strictly following CGM (it gets quite warm).

    Consider getting the Supreme model if
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Hair is past shoulder length and/or thick in density. You have looser/delicate curls (more room in the bowl for fragile curls and finer strands equals less wonkiness). Your hair is prone to frizz. You have a sensitive scalp. You want to dry faster. You keep the dryer on constantly during use. You want more settings/customisation. Cool shot is important. You are following CGM (cool shot is your friend).
    Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought this after finding my nozzle hairdryer with diffuser too heavy to hold (mobility issues)
    The difference in result for not only ease of use, as it’s really light, and I can rest it in the cup of my hand instead of holding it up and outwards, but my curls last even after sleeping on them now!
    I would give a 5* review, but I think a cool shot would make this unit perfect.
    Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve used a lot of hairdryers over the years including super expensive ones and this is the best for curly hair! It’s light, compact and so much easier to use than a dryer and diffuser, my curls turned into ringlets, I’m so happy with this purchase.
    Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI bought this for my partners mother for Christmas who has very curly hair but finds her normal hairdryer heavy to hold she loves this it is lightweight and she said she could see a difference so I have bought one for myself, as someone who has used dryers and straightener’s for years and has hair with a natural wave I thought it was time to give the damage a rest! I love it, its lightweight quiet and easy to use and I get a great frizz free curl. Recently I have been using mousse and part drying with normal hair dryer but this is a game changer, i have purchased a curl revival cream and just a little of that and a quick dry with the diffuser and I get frizz free curls all day without the stickiness of the mouse and my hair looks dry and curly as apposed to having that wet look all day. I have had lots of comments as it looks so different than my normal straightened locks which go frizzy in the winter weather or whenever there is moisture in the air. Just love it great buy
    Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersOmg I’m not even sure how I lived without this. I had doubts it would be any good I mean it’s just a defuser right! Well it’s so much more. I’d been straightening my hair daily for 2 years when I had 4 inches cut off and told straightening it was killing it. So I bought this in an offer and I love it. It takes me less than 10 minutes to dry my shoulder length hair and I can revamp it the next day with a curl spray and away we go. It’s worth the money even if it’s not in the offer you won’t be disappointed. I don’t think it’s ideal for a holiday as you can’t fold it but I’d find room for it as it’s saved my max messy hair.
    Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI decided to say goodbye to straight hair and embraced my wavy hair. This was one of the best buys for my hair! It is lightweight, good hold, and never burnt my hair. The only downside is the absence of a cold air setting, but Bellissima added it to its newer model.     I find the 2 heat settings are great, although I only use the cool one 99% of the time. I’ve cut off alot of my length, so I don’t know how well it would work for long hair, mid to short hair it works a treat!
The only thing is i would of like the air flow on setting one to be faster but its not a deal breaker !
    This diffuser dryer works really well on my curls and is so much easier to hold than a normal hairdryer. My only improvement would be a cool button as the high speed is a bit hot. I tend to just run on low speed but it does take longer to dry this way. Overall, I’m pleased with my purchase and would recommend.
    I was sceptical as there are mixed reviews on this diffuser, but majority where good.
    This hair diffuser is amazing, lite weight easy to hold and use. This hair diffuser is designed for curly hair, when used it doesn’t blow the hair around so doesn’t create frizz. Some reviews have mentioned it is very hot, I wouldn’t say it’s any hotter than the Dyson hair dryer. It would be nice if you had an option to go cooler when need but still an amazing hair dryer.
    I was sceptical about buying this due to the negative reviews about the heat. I’m glad I eventually ordered one as I don’t find it too hot even though I have fine hair. And there is also a lower setting. I can’t really compare it to a normal diffuser as I don’t use one, but with this I don’t have to use a hairdryer so it’s easy to store & travel with. Definitely worth a purchase.
    Great wee hairdryer for curly hair. Easy to use and light. However, the casing gets pretty hot when drying so it becomes a little awkward to hold it. As the area where it sucks in the air is ideal to hold but of course that doesn’t work. Could be improved with a cold setting!
    I’ve waited a week before doing my review and I can honestly say ….. this is the best thing I have ever bought!! Okay so it does get a bit warm on setting 2, however if you move the diffuser as per the instructions then it is fine. My hair is 2c/3a and has a tendency to be frizzy, I’m not saying the frizz has completely gone but it is a lot lot better since using the Bellissima Diffon. My curls are well defined and have body and movement. I love it.
    This hair dryer really is designed with knowledge of curly hair – and it’s a great price. As someone with dense but fine curly hair I’ve often had frustrating experiences with drying and styling I’ve even often come out of hairdressers with a frizzy mess on my head disappointed with the way they have styled it. Just used this and it’s 100% better than my previous hair dryer – it’s gentle and takes a bit longer to dry my hair but the curl looks great – it’s in shape immediately without having to apply loads of product during the drying process.
    I have bought this diffuser to help to manage my curly hair and the drying thereof. This is much easier to use than a normal hairdryer with a diffuser attachment. It is light and manageable. Unfortunately, there is no lower heat setting, which I really would have preferred. For this reason, only four stars.
    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have had this a few months now and I haven’t reached for my other hairdryer once. It’s easy to hold and is super easy compared with my traditional diffuser. It does a really good job of drying my hair. I do have fine hair but it tends to hold a lot of water. It is definitely quicker then my traditional diffuser. The only slight minus is that the 2nd speed/heat, I don’t use because it’s too hot for me. I wish it was slightly cooler or the speed and heat was individual settings. Overall I would recommend it though.
