Bought this as we needed to replace the b pillars on my daughter Audi A3. The hardest part was drilling out the old rivets. Replacing them was very easy with this! Good buy and good price!
Pleasantly surprised. Iv never used a rivet gun before but needed one just for 5 rivets so didn’t want to spend much. All 5 rivets went in first time perfectly so I was very impressed! Highly recommend.
I didn’t want an expensive rivetet as I knew that it would only have occasional use for it. I’ve used this a couple of times, replacing nuts and bolts on a small metal frame, and it has worked perfectly – even using the largest rivets provided. It requires some force to squeeze the tool but that’s the same for all manual pop riveter.
In hindsight ii would have spent a bit more far one with a case for the tool and rivets, but i guess any box would do.
I had needed a New PoP Rivet Hand Rivet Gun for a while so i’d made this purchase !!, it was delivered the very same day i’d bought it !!, very easy to use & it comes with 4x sizes of rivets in bags of 10x rivets per bag so that is useful too !!, it is a bright colour of yellow so easy to find amongst other tools !!.
All in All Top Score of 10 out of 10
Did the job that I needed it for but some rivets did fail and jam. For the money it’s a bit much to expect perfection. Is quite and solid item so I think it will last. Ideal if you have a few jobs to complete but not really a professional’s tool.
The reason of the 4 star is because after when you done one rivet, the rivet is still stays in the gun. Its not affecting the functions and the use because as soon as you feed the next one it wil come out. But it should just fell off after when you use it. Anyway it is a handy little tool with different size of heads and also REALY good at tight places. Good value for money.
I ordered this, instead of another respected brand after it turned out that the former couldn’t handle stainless steel rivets. I was on a verge of buying even more expensive (40+) riveter that would be sturdy and would do the job, however I am glad I didn’t ! Instead I decided to give this one a chance and to see what am I missing with these little inexpensive tools. It turns not a lot ! The riveter arrived quickly, included the bundle of free 60 rivets. I got around to use it on the same day and it did brilliant job! I used around 60 stainless rivets and they popped nicely, securing parts in place. Only one rivet wasn’t tight enough and had to be redone – other than that – perfect! Oh and the mandrels were never stuck – not sure if I just got lucky so far, but not a single one was stuck !
The only drawback is that when arms are extended, you will have a hard time to operate this with one hand (I have medium-large hands ) and sometime you need both hands to get the riveter started – after that it just takes strong squeeze and the rivet pops nicely. Mind you – the squeeze required is pretty strong, and some weaker hands might struggle – especially with stainless steel larger rivets.
NOTE: In order for mandrel to fall out easily – you have to extent the arms fully – even slightly closed they would engage the jaws inside and hold the mandrel in.
although this rivet gun works very well and does a good job, it does take a lot of strength to use and the occasionally the pop rivet pin will get stuck inside the gun, please use with care, the yellow paint also chipped away a little bit but that’s not really important. apart from the few draw backs, this is a very good and useful tool
