I bought this as a nostalgic hark back to my childhood and so my opinion may be biased, but these are fantastic. The images are amazing and mesmorising for any child to look a

This is a brilliant little toy. IGNORE the reviews that say you can’t focus it – just turn the front end of the torch. Yes, getting the discs in is a little fiddly, but my 4-year-old has got the hang of it with a bit of coaching. He loves the stars and has really enjoyed sitting in the dark in his room shining this at the ceiling!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLovely little item. Comes with x3 slide reels featuring a range of different space related images. The focus wheel is easy to turn to ensure that your items are clear on whichever wall you project onto. My 3 year old son loves ‘shining’ this and has even learnt the name of various stars and planets through using it. I’ve learnt a lot too.
The only down side is that it isn’t easy to turn the reel into a new image without knocking the reel out of position. It is only held in place loosely. See video. I would still recommend it for space loving kids – although they’d need help if they were under about 4 or five I imagine.

Bought for space mad three year olds. It’s very small and the image discs are tiny. It’s difficult to insert the discs too. The images are interesting but the children need help to fix the focus and change the discs.

Bought this for my grandson after reading reviews, was unsure after reading a couple of disappointing comments. Was initially disappointed until my daughter found out that you could change the focus by turning the lens at the front, as he had been given one by someone else. This brought everything into sharp focus at any distance. My grandson loves it as he has two of them now. Great little product.

Santa present and its a great hit with our 5yr old. very easy to use, alot of different solar images but wish there was some way to get it to focus as they were very blurry

My little one loves this projector, it’s tricky for little fingers to change the images so I do it for him but it entertains him for ages. I love that you can focus the images depending on size and distance to the surface, making the images pretty clear and educational. Would recommend it.

Easy for my 3yr old grandson to use. Admittingly he is obsessed with space and planets. Pictures are clearer than I thought and he found them facinating. I thought the torch would have been bigger but the quality is great for the money and it’s sturdy enough for little people.

Absolutely love this toy. It’s a brilliant thing to play with and open up discussion, only given 4 stars because of quality issues, can be fiddly to load the disc – it only goes in one way around – and it’s not indicated (for smaller ppl) how to do this. Also the names of the photographs are on the packaging meaning you need to keep that to cross ref the images. Be great if the image names were also on the slides.

Looks a bit cheap and small. Wife said is that it! But kids loved playing with it at night time and give a goo clear picture for the size of it. Ideal as as stocking filler but thats about i

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersThe space theme pictures are a treat. Engaging for both a 3 and 5 year old, with demands for ‘space music’ (aka Star Trek theme songs) to be put on, whilst they put on a space adventure show.

We also have the cute animals one, but surprisingly the space one is the only one they want to play with. Both sets are excellent.

The torches fit well into small hands. The wee ones need some help at times, if they put the disks in the wrong way and can’t get them out again (not a biggie). Bear in mind, You need to twist the top part of the torch in order to get the pictures in focus, otherwise you will think you have a broken product.

    Good buy.

This was bought as an additional gift for a 5 year old’s birthday, he couldn’t wait until it got dark to try it out. Quite sturdy for the price although not sure how long the viewing discs will last, the fact it came complete with batteries was a bonus. Would make a good stocking filler.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought the dinosaur and the space torches for my 2.5 year old boys to go in their Easter baskets. They have loved the dinosaur torch. The space ones are a bit underwhelming, mostly pictures of nebulas and things they can’t tell what they are. The dinosaurs have provided great entertainment. My one complain are no pterodactyl pictures! It really needs a flying dinosaur. Obviously not a big deal. They are small torches, as are the disks, but they are great for little hands and a great deal for the price!

Great. Grandchildren loved them (got one of each torch – Space, Dinosaurs and Zoo Animals for my three little treasures, got one of each….?). They won’t go to bed without them. I suspect their parents may resort to hiding them (torches, not kids) as bedtime takes longer and longer! Could do with being able to buy extra discs as they will soon get bored of the three supplied and swapping with each other still only gets nine picture wheels. Easy to use even for little fingers and the batteries seem to last a long while even with forgetful children.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersI purchased this for my then 2 and a half year old godson about a year ago. I am determined that he will be a massive geek and love all things science related. Best get started with the brainwashing early I say. I purchased both the Space Torch and the Dinosaur torch. The discs are interchangeable with either torch. The images project onto ceilings or walls brilliantly. You can adjust the focus to get a nice crisp image. Getting the discs in is a bit fiddly and but once inserted, you rotate the disc to see the next image. They were an instant hit with my godson. His parents periodically “misplace” the torches so they could be rediscovered. Any time they reappear, he’s just as excited as the first day he received it. As he gets older, we are able to talk more about the images he’s seeing…what the different dinosaur names are, what the different galaxies look like, etc. I’m looking forward to what he comes up with in the years ahead.
