Didn’t realise my existing one was blunt but the fact it kept catching/tugging on hairs was the tell tail sign to look out for. Now clean cuts again without a wet shave afterwards.
My shaver wasn’t cutting very well, so decided to buy a replacement head, what a difference, nice clean shave and no stubble. Glad I listened to the reviews on other none Braun heads and went with the branded product.
I was thinking of replacing my shaver as it was not giving me a good shave. I looked up buying replacement blades and was tempted by half the price offers until I saw a review which advised us to buy the Braun replacement part. This is what I did and the results are way better than I could have possibly imagined. Don’t be fooled into going for the cheaper option.
I have to shave my husband now, and I noticed his braun 7 series shaver head was quite blunt, it was taking me at least 20+ minutes to shave him, so I decided to buy a new head for it, I have to say it’s a game changer, it now takes me 5min to shave him, it’s so much better for him and me. I made sure when purchasing this head it was a genuine Braun part, they say it’s the little things in life that make things better and this shaving head is a prime example, l now don’t dread my husband saying he needs a shave
Ordered this item with a forecast of a few days delivery, remarkably it arrived the next day. It appears to be legit and not a fake so all good for now.
In short, the new set is certainly doing its job well and superior and quieter than that of the old set. As for the second new set I bought, I cannot comment as those remain as supplied sealed in their blister packaging.
Just one final point, I have taken to rinsing in hot water the cutter/foil after each shave rather than just a dry clean and also I now lubricate them before each shave, something that I rarely did previously, so may be that is contributing to the improved performance
If you’ve never replaced your foil and cutter would recommend it as you don’t realise just how poor things were until you fit new ones and get a smooth chin back.

Until my first shave with this replacement, I’d forgotten how smooth a shave you can get with an electric shaver. It really is like having a new shaver again. I’m going to make a new year’s resolution to replace this as instructed every six months or so rather than waiting six years again.
To my amazement sent from south Korea !! Manufactured in Germany, sent to Korea, to be shipped to the uk. The modern way I guess.
Arrived in excellent time, in good order. I agree with a previous reviewer – I don’t know if the “improved” design is in fact an improvement, but it fits well, and works. I’ll update when I have a few shaves under my belt.
Update Sept 2015: well, a bit of an either way conclusion. In the interim, while I was awaiting delivery, I used my spare, a Lidl 15.00 shaver of similar design. Found I preferred it, better battery life, quieter (the Braun feels industrial in comparison), a battery indicator, and as good a shave.
Recently went on as trip, took the Braun as my travel shaver. A pig to recharge (it hadn’t been used for a year), but it did, and held charge. Still industrially loud and buzzy, but I do think perhaps it shaves better….
1st you must find your model number & in may case 390cc
2nd look at the razor or manual to see if it states which parts are required e.g. 31s or 32s (suggest stick to this)
This is important & you should contact Braun for any advice as some 31s shavers can take the upgrade to a 32s but not all ??
Remember s=silver or b=black and should not really matter unless its important to you.
All in all I did my home work & thankfully got it right but there are a few who do not. I was still dubious when I ordered but it works great in my shaver 390cc with 31s parts as stated on the razor.
This item arrived within days and I was informed of its progress all the way through.
The item itself is exactly what I asked for, but I may have specified the wrong model, as the he blade occasionally drops out of the razor when being cleaned.
finally bought the recommended spares for my oldish braun and it works properly again at the old prices this was more than buying a cheap razor but now its under 20 it is worthwhile for 18months of shaving (I hope)
my wife is also very pleased that the scratchy has gone
I’ve had my shaver more than 10 years and probably renew the foil and cutter every 2-3 years. It’s only when you have a first shave with the new stuff that you realise how rubbish the old stuff had become. These are now cheaper than they used to be and are sold as a set rather than individual pieces. Although it seems an expensive purchase compared to the price of a new shaver it is the cutter and foil that are at the business end of the shave and are responsible for it being good or bad. Over a 2 year period I still spend a lot less than my friends who wet shave.
Have had the Braun shaver for many years and my husband finds it very reliable and easy to maintain. Prior to purchasing from Amazon, the price of the renewable spare parts was in the hands of High St retailers and was therefore very high. I found the Amazon price and delivery very good and will recommend the service.
My husband bought this foil/cutter with some trepidation as the Braun 5770 wasn’t specifically mentioned in the product specs, however, it fits and works fine. The pattern of the foil is different from the original and the plastic part is silver rather than black, but that makes no difference – the quality of the shave is at least as good as when the razor was new. The razor must be 7 or 8 years old, and this was the first replacement foil/cutter that has been bought …….. and it’s obvious that these new parts have been long overdue!
The replacement foil and cutter cassette seemed better than the original, it did a good job and I was very pleased with the results.
If I decide to keep my Braun razor in a year or so I will definitely replace it with the same foil and cutter cassette – assuming it is still available.
The only reason I haven’t given it five stars is that the foil and shaver head is a little bit pricey.
For those wondering what Shaver products this works with, please note that this is NOT compatible with a Braun Series 3 390cc shaver (32s is what works with a 390cc). The Braun website is the place to go to check replacement part compatibility.
The Braun Series 3 Foil and Cutter 31S 5000 series, Series 3, Contour Flex Integral replacement part also fits Braun Shaver Type no 5720, model 5612, which does not appear on the specification.
Great news if you have one, as this is a hardy shaver from years ago. The new foil and cutter deliver a noticeably closer shave. The only reason I have left a star off, is because I had to place the order and gamble it would fit my shaver!

The recommended replacement period is 18 months – but after 3 years my Braun was not giving me the shave I wanted. After replacing the foil and cutter with the 31S Combi Pack it is shaving as good as new. If your foil is passed its ‘change-by’ date, I can recommend this replacement. I thought I was getting a pretty good shave with the existing foil and cutter, and bought this as a spare, but having tried it, I threw away the original, as the replacement gives a noticeable improvement.
There is a similar item listed on Amazon at over 21, and I wondered if there was any difference. However, I can’t see how the more expensive one would be any better, assuming both are Braun original items.
At 14.05 it was good value and I note the price has now dropped to 12.74, which is even better!
When your razor no longer performs it is time for a new cutter. Don’t believe they last 18 months = 8 is more likely on my beard. My grouch is the very variable price asked
16.62 in January and
some 26 in November
and now back to 21.
