I havehad a terrible problem with mosquitos and fruit/soil flies. As soon as I plugged this device in everything seemed to be drawn to it and zapped into infinity.
    Highly recommend!

Does a good job. I like to leave windows open and we do get bugs coming in during the summer. This catches quite a few. The sound when they get zapped is quite satisfying like a whip cracking.

Really good piece of equipment. We bought it due to an invasion of wasps due to a nest in our loft. When they flew into this item they did not return!
    Recommended 100%.

What can I say I was sceptical when I bought this but during the summer nights this had been the hardest working thing in the house.

Highly recommended – how did I live without one for soooooo long 🙂

After looking around and reading websites, I decided to buy an electric fly killer.
I have since found that flies dont all fly towards this (and from additional reading, other fly killers), many mock me by resting on the outer bar or base of the unit. That said, It does still get some.
Am I disappointed that it didnt kill every fly withing an hour of turning on, yes.
Am I disappointed overall all, no and I would buy another know that I know what I know

    Hello All,
I wondered like you would, if this fly zapper would really work on fly’s since it stated it was mainly for Mosquitoes?
Well, I had it for awhile now and although the UK hot weather has vanished and the amount of fly’s & Mosquitoes has dropped big time, I can say it does at least attract and kill Mosquitoes and small fly’s.

Not had the big blue bottles or other big house fly’s to know if they would be zapped yet?
It is well made and sturdy and I like the fact it has UV LED’s instead of the pricey tubes ( the tubes always burn out fast ) I hoping it will last the huge amount of time it said it can?

The only downside I see is, the system is sealed so you can’t replace the LED’s like you can with the tubes.
I would say for the money get it if you need one. Just on electric saving alone it be worth it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this item as I was fed up with the tiny fruit flies that seemed to enjoy flying into my face. I’d tried various things, including cleaning surfaces, especially round & including my bin but this didn’t determine the pesky little buggers.
My kitchen is small so thought I’d buy a reasonable sized one at a reasonable price. It arrived, basically you just plug it in & away you go. I lit mine up straight away, obviously being a man I failed to read the instruction leaflet, which would have explained that the evening & night is the best time to have the appliance on.
Well it was on all afternoon with no ‘hits’ but come evening I thought John Wick was in my kitchen taking down the bad guys. There were multiple ‘hits’ including not just the little buggers but moths were also attracted however they needed more than one jolt, maybe 2 or 3. I don’t know if they liked a bolt of electricity or just couldn’t stop themselves, they just kept trying to land on the pole! In the mornings I have to clear up multiple dead bodies & separately their wings, as the bolt appears to blow the moths wings off.
What I failed to realised was that having my kitchen window wide open all the time, I live on the second floor, that moths & flying bugs were attracted to the light as they passed, hence the nightly ‘war zone’ noises coming from the kitchen.
So what have I learned, it works as I haven’t been bothered by the fruit flies, I need to close my kitchen window & to read the instructions.
This uses little electricity & needs the bodies removed from the base at regular intervals dependant on the number of wingless corpses there are.

Brought this to help with the mosquitoes as we have a fish pond that attracts them to come inside, it works very well and is loud when it does its job.
Many people have complained the lead is quite short and no on/of switch, there are ways round this problem, I personally extended the lead cutting it and putting in an inline switch with longer cable, but only attempt this if you are qualified and know what you are doing as this product must be earthed.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersProduct arrived ok. Seems a reasonable bit of kit, low running costs with LED lights. Apparently caught one last night 26th June) and made a loud cracking noise. Leaflet with the product says “hassle free 12 month replacement” so we shall see.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe LED format is a huge step forward: energy consumption is very low and what light it gives off is very attractive (much deeper than the blue the regular tubes give off). Seems to do a good job of attracting bugs, especially mosquitoes. Very pleased (and the seller was right on the ball answering my question about power consumption: thank you and well done).

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis electric Bug Zapper has a much smaller footprint than my previous electric zapper and it has vertical rows of small LED UV light beads rather than the horizontal UV tubes that were on my old device.
The square base fits comfortably on any flat service or you can hang it using the ring that is securely attached to the top of the zapper. I have it placed in a corner on the top of my kitchen cupboard, where it is unobtrusive and away from my food preparation areas, but I have also found it just as useful to place on our little patio table when it is nice enough to sit outside in the garden.
My only qualm is the lack of an on/off switch, which means you have to turn it on and off at the mains wall socket.
I wasn’t sure if these smaller UV lights would be very efficient at attracting the bugs, but almost as soon as I had it turned on, I heard the loud crack of a fruit fly as it made contact with the zapper. It actually made me jump because I hadn’t expected the zapper to work that fast or make such a loud noise.
In a very short time this bug zapper has terminated quite a few flying pests and even as I am typing this review, I have heard another bug bite the dust.
The tray at the bottom collects the dead bugs and it is easy to pull out to clean. This device is lightweight and easy to transfer to different areas of the home and garden. I think it would also be very useful to take with you on camping trips where you have access to electric hook ups.
I am pleased with the results and happy to know that the pesky flies appearing in my kitchen are not going to get much of a chance to contaminate my food when I am cooking.
I have already recommended this bug zapper to family and friends.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very effective but I would have liked an on/off switch

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve reviewed a fair few fly zappers over time and they have all worked very well, they all had two things in common they all used a blue tinged fluorescent tube to entice the fly’s to the electrified column and all the surrounding grids were plastic, now this one is different as it as a metal surrounding grid and the tube used to entice the fly’s is made up of 60 purple tinged led’s which in my opinion work a lot better than the blue tinged bulbs and this zapper gives the flys a great zap that is so reassuring. Ok the price may be a little more than the plastic ones but it’s worth every penny and it’s weatherproof so I will be using it outside at my caravan for when we have drinks and bbq’s.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very robust fly zappe
