Bought for a homemade alcohol stove (tin) to baffle the fuel. Works well for that.
Just as with graphite wool, gloves need to be worn when cutting/handling the bare product, as small fibres can penetrate the skin.
It definitely allows more fire burning time, but not as long as I’d hoped for.
I’m still on the lookout for an item which absorbs and burns slower than this.
But nevertheless, it’s still effective in what it was made to do.
Our Bio fuel burner had these in when we bought it, 3 years ago, I removed them about a year ago but found that the oil was burning away faster and the flames seemed to dance about erratically.
Hence the purchase, put of this reduction in and its back to how it was when first used.
Add these to your bio fuel heater, replacing the old ones with these more decent more versatile, padded ones the reason why is because it makes the biofuel in your heater last longer, because it’s really super absorbent and makes the flames bigger as well
