Almost had this product in my pc for a month now and it works so well with Signal RGB it’s amazing how good it is as I though you could only have ARGB fans if u had a header on the motherboard but with this it makes it so you don’t which is such a relief
I built a PC for my son out of all my leftover computer parts but the case I got him, a Corsair SPEC-DELTA Carbide Series came with RGB fans which were not compatible with my slightly dated motherboard – they wouldn’t light up and there was no way to control the speed. I wanted to get everything working for him and after a load of research settled on this little device.
Essentially this plugs into the motherboard and the RGB fans plug into this via a splitter. It was easy to do and all works perfectly, fans spin, colours cycle all as it should do – Great!
I had some ARGB fans but only RGB header on my motherboard and this means that I am able to control them all just fine, I can use the RGB header to treat these as RGB fans or usb to get the full ARGB function.
It has magnets so I was able to easily attach it inside my case out of the way, very happy that they had this product as an option.
Right. Item came in time and had amazing packaging- item arrived with a rattle noise coming from inside product worked like a dream yet only using the usb connection to the motherboard has some issues as the motherboard 4 pin to connect to motherboard didn’t work for me I believe mine was damaged sadly as it was a very clean product until that, also when connected on the master plus software showed up fine everything worked connected through the usb yet very very few choices of colours only around 10 different choices and many don’t even work! Perfect product only believe mine was damaged sadly but a big let down from the software aspect- would recommend only if yours works when connected to motherboard as software is a big let down. I also believe product is overpriced a little as it isn’t fantastic for the big price tag.
This is great for when you have few fans, and your motherboard has ARGB headers. I’ve plugged in 3x uphere fans through this splitter and they work great. The only thing I’d mention is you need to be careful when plugging it in to your motherboard ARGB header, as the pins are a snug fit, and if you do force it, you risk bending the pins on the motherboard, take your time and use moderate force.
Easy to install. Works really well with standard 12v 4 pin RGB. It’s only a tenner. Really good option of u want pretty RGB without having to upgrade your board or go expensive like icue. I used this to add some RGB goodness to the girlfriends old intel 6400 setup. It does have different modes, but is not software controllable. So it’s a set and forget kind of thing. Overall for a tenner I’m very happy.
Worked great for the purpose adding ARGB to a non ARGB motherboard. I did have an issue with the device/ controller not being recognised by the coolermaster software. To fix this I this I updated the controller firmware downloaded from the product page on the coolermaster website.
Very easy to fit. Perfect if you have nowhere to connect your rgb fans or light strips.
The first one I bought didn’t work but sent it back and got a replacement very quickly.
So I recently got myself a lovely new PC tower case, complete with RGB fans. My motherboard had the header for it, but would you believe it? My mobo dies on me one day before I get the case. I needed a replacement fast! But my CPU is a couple of years old now and the only replacement board I could get didn’t have the RGB header on it.
Step up the Coolermaster small RGB controller. Emphasis on the small. It’s tiny!
I got the little box opened, connected up the controller to my PSU, but could not work out how to connect the RGB headers to the controller. They were both female connectors. I was about to give the product a one star review…
…but then I found hidden away in the bottom of the bag it came in the male to male adaptor that enables you to connect the fans to the controller. Bearing in mind the controller is small, the adaptor is very small! So all is well in the world and I now have a PC case that is pretty and slowly cycling colours. Job done!
Does what it says on the tin. Used to hook up the rest of my fans to plug them in via the ARGB port on my motherboard. Shame they don’t make these into a 6-1 split, but I guess that’s probably to keep the strain off of just 1 ARGB port on the motherboard. All good!
Plugged the 3 fans that come with the GameMax F15M case + 3 DeepCool CF120 fans into this controller because my board has only the 12V rgb header, added quite a few extra cables to do so, but the case made cable management easy. The DeepCool fans do have a proprietary argb connector, but they plug into their splitter and that splitter can be connected directly to the 3-pin argb header on the motherboard – which in my case went into the CoolerMaster argb controller.
My only gripe is with the app, Cooler Master MasterPlus, I have v102.0208.0317 and it seems that if I hibernate my PC then wake it up, the app crashes and when I reopen it the fans configuration is lost (that scheme thing with the 4 A slots to which you can attach fans and such), but the controller remembers the last color setup applied, so this app bug is just a minor inconvenience for when I want to change the colors.
Please add support for cm halo fans also I’m using a long rgb strip and it doesn’t let me customise more than first 36 lights which is only half of my strip.
Also it’s not very clear on coolermaster’s website but:
You can connect this controller via typical motherboard usb 2.0 header but you need a micro usb port and short header to usb port to link it all together. Not much of a bother but it’s really worth it: you will be able to control it via pc cooler master Masterplus+ software. Please add more effects, it doesnt have static colours _()_/
Overall great and im happy that i bought it.
A little hard to get the prongs out from the cables but apart from that a fantastic product. The little arrows are a great help showing which way to properly plug them in and if done wrongly(Arrows do not meet) it wont work correctly.
I use this unit to control aRGB strip as my motherboard was missing the header/support for RGB. Took a while to figure out that it’s not USB powered, you have to plug it into the SATA power adapter.
Worked perfectly though once figured out, and I have full control via software although I just set it on the colour shift option.
Magnetic base works well and doesn’t shift against cable tension, I hid the controller behind the removable front case as pictured.
Note to add, this will only work with SMT 5050 LEDs
Does what it says on the tin and was relatively easy to set up. The MicroUSB port allows control via Master+ software.
What I really like about it is that it’s compatible with most generic aftermarket products; Many other good brands (Corsair, NZXT, etc) have excellent reviews but proprietary connectors, so it’s a big commitment.
Minor cons:
Master+ software is still under development and has some limitations (as of this review Dec ’19)
It should really come with a USB header to microUSB cable – at the moment I’ve jury-rigged it with a standard USB cable going out of back of the case through an uncovered PCI-E slot.
I ended up buying this by mistake because I didn’t realise I had RGB support on my motherboard but it ended up working regardless. The main irritation being that this does require a molex pin and that just doesn’t make sense I haven’t seen anything use molex in over 10 years but you know that why this is 4 and not 5.
If you want something simple that does not require software to run and you are not bothered about changing your lighting constantly, this is the controller for you. It has plenty of different effects and various static colours. I connect mine to 5 strips using splitters and it runs without a problem. It’s simple to use, very small and give you a nice range of lighting options. What more do you want for the price? I am giving it 4 stars because mine is a bit sensitive with its power plug and moving the power cable causes blackouts.
i received this tower as a xmas present from my daughter and i was delighted with how clean and tidy my pc looks now, i have a few little problems with it though, first off the rgb fans need a separate controller in order to work unless you have an rgb header built into your motherboard, it was a bit of a downer finding out on xmas morning but after purchasing a controller it now looks amazing, secondly it can get quite hot, i run a gtx 1080ti and the tempered glass panel can get as hot as the sun although it hasn’t shut down or caused problems yet, hopefully i can in the future buy a different replaceable face as the one on the front does not let in enough air, overall i’m happy with my present it looks good and i can deal with the flaws for the price, nice tower.
I couldn’t find any information regarding how/if this work work on Linux, fortunately what I hoped would happen happened, the configuration is stored on the hardware, therefore it can be configured on Windows and used on Linux, a virtual machine will work, you need to forward the device to the VM, the firmware updater is somewhat sketchy doing it this way, but it works.
I have cooler master cpu fans and also LED strips that arent cooler master and all have been playing up with no way of controlling them because of my sucky MSI motherboard and its awful lighting control. However this controller has come in to save the day, providing an easy to install and easy to look at solution to my lighting issues.
Would DEFINITELY recommend
I bought this for my cousin for his case as he did not have RGB headers on his motherboard. This is a great product, all the instructions were easy and the installation process was very quick. Very happy with this product.
Simple to fit, cheaper that I thought possible when bought as an add-on item. Add basic RGB fan control to any system and, while not having giving the absolute control of a true MB based setup, the range of colour and strobe options is impressive
I had to purchase an additional cable for my additional 200mm RGB fans for my h500p !!
A tad disappointed that it didn’t come with more but no matter it came quickly enough, it didn’t really make a difference.
Purchased RGB lights without knowing they required a RGB supported motherboard or product such a this. Although I wasn’t happy with the additional cost, I am pleased with this product build quality and ease of install. The cooler master software (Downloaded from website) is also great for playing with the RGB lighting. Only think I would say is make sure you have space for it as it is fairly large.

Got this to control ARGB fans on new case as motherboard did not support.
Easy to install and set up. Small enough to route cables to back of case and mount unit on outside using the magnetic mounting and a single cable tie.

The physical controller is quite small in size, has a magnetic back and fits quite nicely in the case.
My only issue is unless you’re able to hide the device the cooler master white logo is always on and you’re unable to disable it with the software.
I don’t own an RGB motherboard so this device allows me to control my case fan lights (instead of using a control button inside the case).
