Replacing an older unit I had for 5 years. They made a few improvements over the older one on how the bulbs sit and they now seem to have a discharge resister in the circuit so the grids don’t stay hot after you unplug it. My old one you had to wait several hours before changing bulbs or you would get zapped by the energy stored in the capacitors.
The catch tray is very convenient and it keeps all of the bugs away/dead but the loud zapping noise scares me every time I didn’t realize it would be that loud. I still probably would have bought it though because it works really well.

This looks a bit industrial to me and isn’t a very attractive addition to our conservatory.
For this reason l’ll be using it in the awning when we go away in our motorhome. It’ll be invaluable in there as bugs are a real pain at night.
It seems to work well enough and has killed a couple of bugs.
I didn’t notice any noise from it at all, apparently it’ll buzz when it gets s bug but as I’ve not witnessed that I can’t confirm it.
I’m not keen on the tray that catches the bugs, they tended to fall off as it come out. The way it pulls out means they’ll always fall off as far as I can see. They have included a small brush so I’ll use this to remove them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Looks a bit industrial but seems to work

Does the job OK, pretty basic in my opinion. On off switch, it stands OK but the hanging up chain looks like an after thought, as does the tray to catch the insects, not easy to get in and out.
I would expect a bit more for the price.
