The smell of it is nice. It’s not like some hair products that smell amazing, it just smells nice, not really noticeable once it’s on. So that’s why I’ve given it 4 stars. There’s nothing wrong with it at all, I use it all the time, but it’s a bit non descript.
Anyway, This stuff is fantastic at establishing and maintaining your hairstyle. I love it. It works whatever length my hair is.
It’s easy to wash out too, not like some.
For me probably the best hair products I’ve come across.
Put a 5 pence size bit in your hand, spread it across your fingers and palms and evenly through the hair. Style and set, it’s got a nice scent and holds all day.
I have tried the stronger hold and I have quit wayward hair, but this is just right.
Tip, try this on first (use half the amount) then half of the pomade for a slightly shiny look, it was a tip from the website, looks the business.
Overall pretty good dose the job, can’t say it has much of any sent but you don’t buy hair products for the smell, could do with mabe being a tad thicker but I have short hair so holds well enough, easy to rework and washes out easy, when I run out will be getting it agai
Tried the black tin of this brand first, started off well and then wax got hard after a month unusable and would leave your hair looking like dry scalp. After reading reviews of the yellow tin thought give it a go it’s actually good softer texture than the black tin wax and smells nice not sure it’s worth 10 a tin but overall happy would buy agai
This paste gives a firm hold with a natural low shine look. I use a very very small amount and it holds my hair all day. Best product I have found for my hair.
Best hair styler I ever had, it’s been one year I’ve been using this and still love it. Tried some many hair stylers but they either were giving wet hair look or wouldn’t hold strong enough. I recommend using first salt water for hair and then on this, dry it with a drier and comb it.
It is quite good but it’s nothing special, fairly matt, hold is okay, not really greasy. I have short messy hair on top with skin fade at sides and back. I’d rather it held a bit better when messing and ruffling my hair on top.
The smell of this product is so nice! I use it just as much for the smell as I do the hold !
Great hold and lasts all day easy to wash out and you don’t need to use a lot! The only thing I would say negative is the pot just isn’t big enough!!
Great look, doesn’t leave hair to shiny and can be restyled with a little warm water! Will definitely buy again!
All in all, I’m glad I’ve changed to this paste. It smells better than the product that I used to use, it holds better too (I quite often have to wear a hat at work) and generally only needs a swift comb after taking my lid off.
Really happy with it even after having it in for 12+ hours a day, it still holds and keeps my hair looking smart.
I really can NOT fault Dapper Da
So I’ve gone through this is the third product I’ve tried when attempting to get that firm hold, no/low shine. I was basically looking for a product that styles and shapes my hair, but looks like there’s nothing in it. This is the the only product I’ve found so far that does this well and I’ll be sticking with it
the previous two I’ve tried have been fish styling creme and the American Crew version, and although both shaped my hair well, I personally found whenever I touched my hair afterwards I’d get an oily residue. However with this Dapper Dan product, it’s fine. It goes on and feels hard at first, but when it dries in your hair, you don’t feel like there’s product on it, you don’t get greasy hands, and the it holds really well all day, and looks doesn’t give off any shine
This is the only hair products my boys will use, the double pack works out great value for money, it’s what the barber uses when they have their hair cut. It only takes a small amount to style the hair, I feel we get value for money
The scent is mild, which I like. But most importantly it’s strong to hold the style all day long and very easy to wash at the end of the day.
My brother introduced me to Dapper Dan products as the stuff I’d previously used for years disappeared from the market.
This matt paste is exactly what I was looking for. I have blonde, medium length thick hair that is prone to looking greasy with a lot of products. This gives me the texture that I’m after and is also reworkable during the day without appearing greasy. It works equally well in both wet and dry hair.
I love the scent as well but it may not be to everyone’s taste.
All in all I’ve found my new product that hopefully sticks around for a while!
Product is fine, does the job. Cheaper options available that do the same thing. Bought for tin mainly as I am a fan of o brother where art thou, but sadly the tin is very dented and damaged.
I find it quite hard to apply as it is , well, hard. I thought it would be more like Brylcreem. It isn’t like a soft cream more like a wax. One doesn’t have to use very much for it to work but it takes a bit of rubbing in. Maybe if it were warmed up it would apply more easily. Quite dear for the amount that I use it but that is down to my choice.
Your worth the investment. There’s cheaper products. This does the job make me feel better and I like the branding . If it’s good enough for George Clooney it’s good enough for me
My barber recently started this so thought I would try some myself having previously used american Crew Forming Cream and before that Kipa Toffee. I’m impressed with the hold and matte finish, the old school cologne fragrancing isn’t overly strong. I would recommend.
I’ve been using this product for a few weeks now and I can honestly say I’m pleasantly surprised. When I first opened the container and took out that first small scoop I was thinking, this seems a lot like VO5 Matt Clay and I feeling pretty disappointed but once applied I realised this is more then just a generic hair product. The product has a tacky grippyness to it and you can get some decent volume. The product when applying doesn’t look like it’s going to be all that matt in terms of finish but once dry in the hair you do get a really nice matt finish. I find that it’s fairly reworkable during the day too. The scent is a masculine cologne musky scent (??) but it’s fairly pleasant and disperses fairly quickly.
This is certainly not the best matt paste on the market but it’s worth a look and priced reasonably well.
I’ve tried quite a few hair products and this one from Dapper Dan is the best by far. Originally introduced to it by my barber, it gives me the hold I need for both long and short styles without looking greasy or wet. The fragrance is great too and it washes out easily in the morning shower. Would highly recommend and 100ml last around two months with no compromise on the amount need per style.
I love this product.
I need the strong hold because I have thick wirey hair and go for a classic slick back look.
Not to mention the scent is amazing!
I have taken to washing my hair once a week when using this product with a slight top up and a bit of water to keep the look in place throughout the week. I usually use a tub every 4 – 6 weeks depending on my hair length at the time. For this time I think this i great value for money.
Conclusion:
Easy to apply
Easy to wash out
No clumping
No greasiness
Smells great.
Can not recommend enough!
I’ve tried a lot of other products like this in the past, some that dried out and left your hair feeling like a helmet, others that only held the style for a couple of hours. This however is fantastic. Doesn’t dry out too much, has really good hold and if you need to reshape it just put a little bit of water on your hair/comb and restyle. Can easily leave in over night then just add a small amount and restyle the next day and it still looks great.
Will definitely buy more when I run out.
