Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI found the instructions a bit confusing but one I got the hang of it it’s fine. AM/FM work good. AIRBAND works fine if you’re close to the airport but not much good if you’re hoping to pick up overflying traffic.

Just be aware that the scanner has a very limited range. It picks up well though and certainly works for an entry level planespotter. I bought a bigger scanner but it doesn’t scan as thoroughly as this little machine.

It’s really small which is good because it fits in any pocket comfortably, will only work with the head phones plugged in and the squelch is difficult to set, when it’s on you don’t pick anything up, when it’s off the static can be annoying but it does pick up the air traffic quite well.
    Overall good value.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this for an air show ATC, but found distant reception a bit weaker than the larger airband radio, the R-108. That said, the important point is that the sensitivity difference is small. Therefore, since this receiver is tiny, but well built, it is ideal for using at airports, where the ATC and aircraft signals will always be strong anyway. So this is perfect for air travellers, with the larger speaker radios better for listening further away from airports. With included standard stereo FM radio, it is useful for long-haul flyers to scan 88-108MHz, to momentarily identify what country they are flying over, even at 38,000 feet. 🙂

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’m fortunate , Newcastle 124.375 to Scottish 133.8 is directly over my house , and the signals come blasting through . It has long range , and I get Scottish 126.3 fixing on the Lanark beacon . Radio 1 etc . Exellent . The only thing I don’t like on the air band , Is the hash while on standby . I can’t find any squelch control , or it would be a 5 star .

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little radio , very clear when the planes transmit , very clear on radio .
