This is a good product and can work well. However my gauge stopped working after about a year. This was due to a build up of fine airborne debris that had avoided the spiral mesh and partially filled the measuring cup. This will have affected the accuracy. After removing the debris it worked fine.
It is important to occasionally remove the collecting funnel and clean out the cup. Not difficult.
Since my last Rain Gauge split due to ice, I have used this electronic one and to say I am impressed is an understatement. I have for many years monitored the weather and in particular the amount of rain that has fallen. This device measures precisely the amount of rain to 0.1mm and auto empties precisely at midnight. On the display indoors one can monitor the rainfall in real time. I have created an Excel spreadsheet with the daily totals and it is so much easier and more accurate that the old measuring glass type. Very happy.
