When using the iOS platform – can I combine Matter and HomeKit-enabled accessories in an automation or scene?

Yes you can. For automations, Apple Home makes no difference whether your devices were added to your home through HomeKit or Matter.

Eve Door & Window is a Minimum Thread Device (MTD) – but what does that mean?

Thread makes your smart home network more responsive, the only other thing you need is a home hub (Thread border router). Battery-operated Thread accessories, such as Eve Door & Window, represent endpoints in your Thread network.

    Not much to say.
Sensor works well, just need to get it mounted correctly, so definetly use the additional adjustment pieces that come with it to get the right height/ space between the two pieces.

Connects to HomeKit without any issues and can be used to trigger lights, scenes etc.

    Prodotto conforme a quanto dichiarato

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDie Eve Door & Window hat mich wirklich beeindruckt.

The Eve Door & Window Wireless Sensor gets my 5-star rating. It seamlessly integrates with my Apple TV hub network, delivering reliable security.

Once set up, the Eve sensor syncs with our families Apple Home network, providing real-time notifications to my Apple Watch whenever the front door opens or closes.

Additionally, the Eve sensor enables effortless monitoring of my children’s movements when leaving the house, giving me valuable insights into their well-being. Its reliability and convenience have made it an essential part of our families movements.

My husband has integrated this into our smart home setup, so that our lights turn on upon arrival. As well as switching off many appliances when we leave. Ensuring that electricity is not wasted (Saving us money)

I was so impressed with the Eve Door & Window Wireless Sensor that I recently purchased a second device to cover our back door.

In conclusion, the Eve Door & Window Wireless Sensor surpasses expectations, offering enhanced security and convenience. Its seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem, real-time notifications, and effortless monitoring capabilities make it a must-have for any smart home. Like most of the EVE products, if you can afford them then I highly recommend the Eve Door & Window Wireless Sensor.

We would love to try the EVE cam in the future as part of our smart home.

I own a lots of sensor from Eve and this door sensor works really well.

I don’t know why amazon asks me to rate it’s picture and sound quality this is just a sensor after all.

Works flawlessly, easy to install, battery has been on 100% for months so I’m not sure if it’s being read correctly because the door definitely gets used a fair bit! I’ve got this set up so my office light comes on if the porch door is opened. Helps with deliveries and such. Notifications are quite instant and come through whether I’m on mobile data or wifi. It is a strange battery though, looks like it might be difficult to find replacements.

Very good sensor and works great in my Homekit ecosystem. Dropped a star though as the batteries are a strange half-size AA, which are very hard to find. Had 3 of these for about 7 months – one battery was dead after 3 months and another just died last week.
Hopefully the next generation of these use AA, AAA or even CR2032 batteries which are more widely available to buy!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSeller provided a 2nd Gen device where the advert clearly advertises a 3rd Gen (with Thread support). Packaging had a sticker over the real details stating “Bluetooth/Thread”. Hope this was a genuine mistake and not attempting to be deceptive. Sent it back for this reason.

Actual product was fine if you were looking for an older Bluetooth only sensor. Just not what was advertised here.

Update: Reordered and received a 3rd Gen device. Connected via Thread and works well.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersThis is a great product, hugely improved by the addition of Thread – response times and battery life are significantly better than the previous Bluetooth-only version.

WARNING: Make sure you check you’ve received the latest model though. The Amazon listing clearly states in the title and throughout the description, that this is supposed to be the Thread enabled version, which is only supported by the 3rd generation (2020 model) devices.

I ordered two of these and both were the old 2nd gen (2017) versions. I had to return them as they will not support Thread.

The 3rd gen ones will have EBN in the model number on the base of the box (and will likely have the Thread logo on the box).

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThese are just so simple and brilliant it’s incredible.

    Using with Apple HomeKit app.

Easy to install, self adhesive stickers or screws Set up is about 5 mins per unit and works like a dream.

Download the Apple HomeKit App, apply where you want it either on a door or window, or even a Garage Roller or normal up and over door. When the sensors are split you get a notification to with iPhone, iPad Apple Watch or even the iOS iPod I would think too.

I’ve got one on the back door so if it’s opened during the night I have 2 bedside light that come on and the Apple HomePod mini comes on playing an alarm sound.

So simple and so quick. Brillia

I installed this sensor so I would know if anybody was opening my door but it has been useful for other things such as turning out the lights.
I can see benefits in installing more of these door sensors to work with lights in other rooms and heating controls, improving upon the whole smart home experience

If you have a HomeKit based smart home these are the only sensor as they are thread protocol. It is so fast and responsive and have has a false trigger since we got them! They are a bit more expensive that some other brands but in my opinion they are well worth it!

This is a great addition to our HomeKit set up. Using thread to connect, notifications on my iPhone are almost instantaneous when the doors and windows open/close. This really helps with triggering automations using our thread enabled lighting. Just makes everything happen very quickly with a minimal delay.

Recently fitted and joined my thread network when the firmware was updated. The (free) Eve app is excellent. I was a little dubious about just sticking the sensor on the door, but it works perfectly as there is little weight to the product.
It’s only a sensor, so you can decide what you want it to do. I can get a notification on my phone for open and close events. I can set times when I wish to receive those notifications, such as during the day when no-one should be home. It could be made to trigger other events, such as turn on a hall lamp when you enter.
I only have one on the entrance to my apartment and It triggers pretty much instantly. That gives me peace of mind that all is well. I’ll add motion sensors when Eve launch the thread versions.
The possibilities multiply when you add further products.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersNow working as a Thread device which is a killer feature. Thread gives this very very low latency and very reliable working through HomeKit (you need a Homepod Mini) and other Thread devices in my house which are forming their own Thread mesh network. I have this sensor inside a wardrobe and it triggers a nanoleaf (also Thread enabled) LED strip situated opposite, therefore illuminating the inside of the wardrobe when opened. There is virtually no delay in the lights being triggered. My seven year old daughter believes this is absolute magic and I am inclined to agree!

I have 5 Eve Door and Window sensors which are very easy to attach to window or doors as required.

We use them to (i) curtail the heating in rooms with Eve Thermos when the monitored window is open, (ii) to monitor windows that are often left open to indicate to someone setting the house alarm that not all windows have been closed and (iii) to highlight when the garage door has been left open as not visible from the house.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy HomeKit integratio

Easy to set up and works a treat!
Comes with everything you need to get it set up and so easy to install.
I use this with Apple HomeKit, not sure if it’s supported by any other devices.
I bought one for each of the main doors in the house and I have an alert instantly on all my devices if either are opened or closed.

Something I did want to know before purchasing, was if there was a way to add an alarm to these for when I was not home, or if everyone was in bed. The answer would be yes, but only if you have a HomePod or another audio device linked to your HomeKit app. Simply set an automation then for the HomePod to play a particular song, at particular volume when the sensors are triggered. So now if I’m not home and the sensor is triggered this will tell the HomePod to blast an alarm sound until I stop it.
