I’m changing my review because, although I thought they weren’t, batteries were included, but packaged separately as shown. The batteries are already installed, but a slip of plastic has to be removed for the torch to work
Taken that they come with batteries and are Energiser branded product, this pair of torches is well priced. They are bright and easy to use – a simple on and off with no annoying cycling through different brightnesses or flashing just to turn off.
A contrast to almost all modern torches, where you press some button once to turn it on and 3 times to turn it off, and which is BLACK. When do you need a torch? When it’s dark. So what colour should it NOT be?!
The description of this product is misleading.
Yes, you get TWO torches: one blue and one Yellow. (Not black as in the text)
Each torch is 6″ (15cm) long, and weighs just 68g including the 2 AA batteries (supplied)
They are not waterproof
To summarise: I can’t imagine anyone over the age of 50 who wouldn’t appreciate a pair of these torches as a present.
I bought these pair of torches as a present for my ageing father and so far he is using them and he is very pleased with them. The main reason I bought them is because the On/Off switch is on the side which makes them immensely one-hand ergonomic especially with old hands that don’t have the energy and flexibility to manage the switch at the bottom of many other torches. Why the majority of hand held torches have the switch at the bottom end is perhaps a mystery that manufacturers can only answer, but for sure it is not a product evolutionary improvement.
These are much better than I thought they would be, given the price. Lightweight, batteries supplied and excellent bright beam…..can’t fault them as a product for the car, house or shed.
The torches are lightweight, versatile and easy to hold. They give a very satisfactory light and can be used in lots of settings. They are just a basic, no nonsense torch but they work well and not complicated in any way which is what I wanted. Better for shorter term use but a must for looking in dark cupboards, walks at night and initial use in power cuts. We probably need to buy a more substantial light in case of longer power cuts as candles are limited and carry a certain fire risk.
However they are very good value for money and I would definately buy again.
Wanted simple lightweight torches for my elderly father and these fit the bill. Reasonably bright and simple on/off switch.
Disappointingly one of the batteries was missing and there was no internal packaging in the box so not sure what the history of my parcel was!
Great little torches. Really bright but light weight and a perfect size. Excellent value for money! I have one for the house and one to keep in my car. Extremely handy size for someone who wants a bright torch but can’t manage one of these big heavy ones. I definitely recommend these.
