I’ve been in the market for a PIR motion sensor light for my porch as my current one wasn’t doing the job. This was a bit fiddly to install, but I got there in the end. Overall it does look really good, but I definitely think that it could have came with the bulbs to make things a lot simpler and plug and play. The build quality of the light seems high, and the motion sensor works great, so this definitely gets a thumbs up from me!
Brilliant wall light, the motion sensor is quite sensitive and easily picks up people coming through our gate.

Looks brilliant and works well – you can just leave it on all the time and it will only illuminate when there’s motion and it’s dark.
This is a well made, modern looking wall light suitable for indoors or outdoors. It is a little fiddly to put up but still didn’t take two long with two pairs of hands. It comes with everything you need to fit and wire it up, but does not come with bulbs, but they are standard GU10 bulbs so it’s not really a problem. I like the design of this so the light is both at the top and the bottom. You can adjust the angle for the motion sensor which is helpful but the downside we found is that the light comes on whether it’s day or night which is not ideal. Ours is wired to a switch inside our house so we have to remember to turn it on in the evenings and off in the mornings to try and prolong the bulb life. This does have an IP44 waterproof rating but it is advised that it cannot be soaked in water or exposed to rain for a prolonged period of time, and advises to cover it up if this is the case. I don’t think it would look great if it was having to be covered up for any length of time, which is very likely in our British climate. Overall, I would recommend this light and advise that if you can place it in a slightly sheltered position you probably won’t have to cover it up.
I was trying to improve the outside of my house when I came across this outdoor wall light, and the difference was clear right away. The light is e more than just a source of light, it is also a decoration. The double up and down design gives off a beautiful glow that shows off the building’s design and gives off enough light for safety and look but this it is more or less a product at offers the light as a decoration.
In terms of a build quality outside this is more or less fine as long as it doesn’t get water on it and the whole installation as I remember it took me around 10 minutes because I’m quite familiar with this type of product and I like the fact that it has motion detection which is an important aspect which works properly and for example every time someone passes by the light gets activated.
Like the fact that the color of the light is yellow which is quite interesting and per general I would say that this product is as expected and i’m very happy to use it.
This came as a single light with no bulb attachments
The light was a little scratched on the surface as seen in the pics.
The fixing was easy, simple wiring required, however I would suggest an electrician if your not completely confident doing this.
The sensor is great and picks up nicely, and the lights is lovely looking and bright.
This is a neatly packaged wall light. Although it has been described as suitable for external use, it can also be used internally. The up and down design of the wall light makes it very versatile in its application. However, I have awarded it an overall 4-star rating because of the rather poor labeling of the internal 6-pin wire socket. When I tested the wall light, it was a case of ‘trial and error’ before I got the wiring right. This is because the internal wires into the internal socket of the unit do not have the label of Live (L) or Neutral (N). They are also not colour-coded to identify L or N wires. Reasonably priced though…
I have a similar light to this outside my back door, but it doesn’t have a PIR sensor – simply an on/off switch. I wanted one with a PIR as it’s more useful as a security light, and also when coming home in the dark & not needing to switch the light on beforehand.
The build quality & weight of the product feels excellent. There is a sliding cover over the PIR, which can be flipped open in order to adjust the settings (width of sensing range, duration of light being on).
I like the style of this light – & the fact that it emits light above and below. The stainless steel finish is modern & should hold up well in the British weather.
Looking forward to my husband getting this installed – hopefully in time for the darker nights!

Even better, the included instructions are easy to follow – and complete!
You do need to supply your own bulbs, but at this price – and for this quality – I don’t think that’s too unreasonable.
In use, outside our front door, the down facing light illuminates the area well.
And looks smart too!

The EXTRASTAR outdoor wall light is a nice addition to any home, it’s great for beside the front door, casting a lovely light up and down the walls, price is reasonable, design is nice and overall it feels to be of good quality. Installation wasn’t problematic, I was able to replace my previous light without a problem, looks great when up.
I ordered this to use in our hallway so that during the evening and night it will automatically come on if we come downstairs for anything.
On opening, this has a very good build quality for the price and includes all of the required fixings to connect to the power and to mount onto a wall.
The finish is a bright and clean looking steel which looks very contemporary
I ordered the model that has a builtin motion sensor as their were others listed with it at the time, the wiring is just as easy as fitting a standard wall light so it only requires the standard three wires to be connected to the supplied block. Once fitted the wiring and the mounting brackets are hidden so all that’s seen is the lovely sleek lighting unit.
When wiring this up, I still wanted a way to override the automatic on/off so I used a Zigbee back switch with a smart app and changed the wiring a little so now I can turn it on and off like a normal light but it will also be automatic once the light level drops below a set amount. This did take a little more time to do but it is possible should you want that extra functionality.
As this is an up/down light unit it will require two GU10 bulbs to be fitted which are not supplied but at the price I wouldn’t really expect them to be.
Overall, this is a great looking contemporary lighting unit with a motion sensor that can be used inside or out of doors for a lovely up/down light effect that will colour wash the wall.

This really is a superb up/ down light.
Fitted with a motion sensor which is located at the front of the wall mount and activates the light when movement is detected.
Beautiful brushed steel case with removable compartments at the top and bottom so that a GU10 bulb can be inserted in each end.(not supplied).
Needs to be connected to the mains electric by an electrician.

Looks great, however remember that the light is directed up and down and not side ways. So it can indirectly light a pathway but it’s not the same as a spot light pointed at the path
Very good looking, lightweight and easy to install. It took three hands to complete the installation as we needed to hold the light fitting off the wall whilst we connected the wiring but it was straightforward and didn’t take long. Easy adjustment to make the fitting vertical too. The sensor controls are also easy to use.
a good quality, robust, nicely finished brushed effect stainless steel wall light with a PIR sensor.
Looks really nice and stylish adjacent to my patio door, illuminating my step, however, I don’t see the point in the uplight illuminating by the pir when movement is detected only. it would be good for the top light to be on continuously for an ambiance and the downward light to illuminate upon movement in my opinion.
The PIR detection angle isn’t the widest at 100 degrees, meaning that there are blind spots on either side along the wall which would be annoying if fitted close to a door for example as it wouldn’t trigger immediately upon exiting from the door
That said, it works fine and looks attractive both during the day and at night when it is illuminated.

We love these lights I already have the same on the front of our house and this is now on the rear.
The unit is simple enough to fit and the set comes with instruction. If you don’t know how to tho best get an electrician.
It does come with all the screws needed.
You can unscrew the ends to add bulbs and I have put energy saving led lights inside to save money.
The PR sensor works well and can be altered for sensitivity.
The colour looks great , I would have given 5 stars but mine came with scratches on the base which is unfortunate.

It is a nice thing to have in a patio..it had a sensor on the bottom part of the light. I have not tried it yet since it needs a qualified person to connect it. The connection of the wire is on the back portion which is protected with a rubber covering. That is the only thing I should think about before ordering this product. It feels heavy and sturdy so it won’t easily be knocked off by something if screwed properly.
it’s well made, so heavy to demonstrate its quality. It’s well designed, simply to look cool with a brushed black finish. I prefer a bronze one though like my previous one, but black is beautiful anyway.
Easy to install with clear and figured instruction. Basically you need to fix the base to the wall or a piece of fixed wood, 2 screws are provided with rawlplugs. Wiring is fairly straightforward and all you need is a screwdriver, seconds time. However, safety first – should you have no experience, just ask a electrician for help.
PIR works perfectly with a shade. All you need is a small screwdriver to adjust the sensor (distance), timer (length), and lux (day or night).

Extrastar Outdoor Wall Light – Black – PIR
Compact double ended IP44 wall light with PIR.
Light weighs 670g (without bulbs – Gu10 bulbs not included), and has a removable panel on the back for attaching to the wall. Inside the panel you have the wire box for connection to the mains.
The top and bottom of the light screw off, so you can insert a GU10 bulb- the metal black body is well finished.
The light comes with good instructions with diagrams (also printed on the box), it includes screws & plugs in a zip-lock bag.
Overall – shame its only IP44, and no bulbs included, but well made and robust – 4 stars.
This outside pir light replaced an old rusty lamp. It was easy to wire in and install. The lamp looks really good and increases security in our dark back garden. Set up was easy once I worked out that the lamp will work in daylight if the left hand adjustment screw is fully anticlockwise. Well pleased with this for the money and a certain retailer sells a very similar lamp for almost double.
I have this light and the smaller single bulb one, very nice lights that come in a dark grey/anthracite type colour with a brushed finish.
Comes with installation instructions but does require wiring up properly so if you are unsure it’s best to get an electrician in to sort it for you.
Fairly priced, good quality and easy to change/install bulbs (just screw off the ends)
Overall very happy with these
