After spending countless hours immersed in Far Cry 5 Limited Edition, I can confidently say that this game has been an absolute thrill ride from start to finish. The combination of the captivating storyline, explosive gameplay, and limitless freedom to explore has left me thoroughly impressed, and I am more than happy to give it a glowing 5-star review.
The limited edition of Far Cry 5 comes with exciting bonus packs that have added a whole new dimension to my gaming experience. The Outlaw Pack, with its Pick-up Truck, D2 Shotgun, and stylish Cap & Light Jacket, has made me feel like a true rebel taking on the dangerous cult that has taken over Hope County, Montana. Equipping my character with these items gave me a sense of preparedness and style as I ventured into the wilds to confront the enemy.
The Chaos Pack, on the other hand, has been a game-changer when it comes to intense combat situations. The 4 x Fast Buffs, 4 x Furious Buffs, 4 x Molotov Cocktails, and 4 x Animal Baits have provided me with an explosive edge, turning the tide of battles in my favor and allowing me to take down even the most challenging foes with tactical precision.
The game’s storyline is nothing short of enthralling. As I jumped into the boots of an elite special forces soldier stranded in hostile territory, I found myself becoming emotionally invested in the struggle to ignite the fires of resistance against the fanatic cult. Leading a community of brave individuals against such a formidable enemy has been a deeply satisfying and emotionally gripping journey, making each victory all the more rewarding.
But what truly sets Far Cry 5 apart is the unparalleled freedom it offers. The vast open-world of Hope County is a playground of possibilities, and I have relished the freedom to chart my own path through the game. Whether I’m sneaking through the dense wilderness, taking down enemies from a distance, or engaging in intense close-quarter battles, I felt like the architect of my own destiny.
The stunning visuals of Hope County are truly a sight to behold. The attention to detail in the landscapes, from the majestic mountains to the lush forests and serene lakes, makes exploring the world an awe-inspiring experience. The cult’s strongholds are visually striking yet eerie, adding to the atmosphere of tension and urgency as I fought to liberate the region.
Gameplay mechanics have been smooth and intuitive, allowing me to seamlessly switch between exploration and action. The responsive controls have been crucial in pulling off tactical maneuvers during intense firefights, making each encounter feel satisfyingly challenging yet never frustrating.
Far Cry 5 Limited Edition is a game that keeps on giving. The abundance of missions, side quests, and challenges has kept me engaged for hours on end, and I find myself eagerly coming back for more. The replayability factor is incredibly high, with so much to see, do, and discover in the vast open world.
In conclusion, my experience with Far Cry 5 Limited Edition has been nothing short of phenomenal. It’s a game that has fully immersed me in its world, provided thrilling combat experiences, and allowed me to forge my own path. From the adrenaline-pumping battles to the emotionally resonant storyline, this game has left a lasting impression on me.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable adventure filled with action, exploration, and a gripping narrative, Far Cry 5 Limited Edition is an absolute must-play. Prepare to ignite the fires of resistance, lead a community against an oppressive cult, and carve your own path through the untamed wilderness of Hope County. It’s a journey that will stay with you long after the credits roll, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to any gaming enthusiast seeking an unforgettable experience in the world of Far Cry.
Good game .. Good graphics and varied story line .. A bit weird in places .. and can be a bit repetitive …but this is typical Far Cry .. Good value for money . If you’ve played the others … you won’t be disappointed
It’s definitely up there with Far Cry 3, just not as great. Certain elements hold it back, but it does a lot right. Props to Ubisoft for finally releasing a game that doesn’t feel rushed off a conveyor belt.
Always liked the Far Cry Series of games and usually prefer a disc due to the option of getting some (however small) resale value over a PSN purchase.
This game builds nicely on the series, a new area, different terrain style of map, similar idea of an area with a “leader” with a stronghold. New features with man’s best friend.
First of the series I have on PS4, rather than PC. Graphics are good on my 55″ TV. Gameplay is good, if not challenging in places to start with.
Would recommend and a great game for jumping in at any point in the series as there is not follow on story.
I loved this game so much. The plot was very believable, drawing on the events throughout the 60s-80s involving isolated cults. The family featured as the antagonists (Leaders of the Eden Gate cult) Joseph, Jacob, John and Faith give of the same vibe as the Baker family from Resident Evil 7 which is really cool and unnerving XD. Gameplay is fluid, movement is satisfying and gun handling is nice. Graphics are above par and vibrant (typical for a Farcry title). The storyline is engaging and sufficiently long enough to fill a week or so of even the most avid gamers calender. THOROUGHLY ENJOYABLE.
I’ve played Farcry since 3 and have enjoyed all the games. Yes, they are all a bit samey, but if you’ve got a system that works why change it? This game is another great installment – Fantastic graphics, immersive environment, charismatic characters and a surprisingly pleasant soundtrack. The change from a tropical climate (Like 3 and 4) is welcomed and the addition of planes freshens it up a bit. The only negative is I’m just struggling to get immersed in the game. Which is perhaps to do with the storyline which can be a bit all over the place (especially with the constantly getting caught by the bad guys through drug effects) but perhaps I’m just not paying enough attention. Overall a very good game and I’m looking forward to New Dawn.
My thought is like the others games and some characters drag you in there game like faith does
Lots of cut scenes that infear the whole game
Also it involves God too
You are expect to repeatedly do the same missions on each players area
Better than Far Cry 4 in almost every respect. The only thing I don’t like about it is that there is no third person view while you’re controlling the vehicles. I understand why they did it, they wanted to keep the “real world” vibe, but it just doesn’t work sometimes after being used to it in Far Cry 4.
This is officially my favorite Far Cry game, nothing is groundbreaking or new it’s just the most refined version of the far cry/ubisoft formula. No longer do you have to climb stupid towers, no more long animations for skinning animals, no more grinding materials to buy perks instead is a point system. seems like yesterday I was popping malaria pills and my weapons were breaking every 10 mins but that boring stuff is now gone. even side quests have more of a meaning now with actually interesting narrative to support them. I would say the only cretinism I have is that money is so low in game to intensify you to buy silver (micro-transactions) but not everything is purchasable using silver. season pass is a bit lazy and of course gimmicky, I mean come on zombies, space and Vietnam! but buying the season pass for Far Cry 3 was worth it for me as it was my favorite far cry game.
As the game started I felt I was gently pushed into John’s region, one of the 3 regions on the map. Here I thought the game was a bit dull ; just like the landscape. I even moaned about the very difficult to control planes on one mission and was beginning the think that FC5 was my least favourite in the series. That’s until, after a few upgrades, I entered the world of Jacob, were this awesome game kicked in. I was hooked literally, sidetracked on some fishing, making use of the much more manageable helicopters, side missions, hunting and more. To finish off the game in Faith’s region was just amazing….. atmospheric, bone chilling and brilliant.
The arcade multiplayer is fun but is below triple A game standards in my opinion; I didn’t play Far Cry for this. But if you want the platinum trophy you have to.
Ubisoft have created a main game to a very high standard and it doesn’t feel tired at all. Awesome achievement.
Very good game but it does get a little repetitive. The story is interesting and gets you hooked in quite early but it does get to the point where the missions just feel the same and it loses it’s excitement a little. This might be because the story is so long it’s hard to keep it fresh but I definitely got my moneys worth in gameplay before I got bored of it.
It’s Far Cry, but in America (supposedly). if you’re a fan of the series you’ll like this one too. I like the option to buddy up with various A.I. characters, some who have their own weapon specialities to make the missions a little easier and earn some extra trophies too if you are a trophy hunter like me. Stomping around in co-op with your online mates is great too.
There is also an Arcade Mode which is new for the series and lets you make your own levels, or just take on other peoples levels. All of your attributes are carried over into arcade mode too which is great!
A good addition to the series.
Enjoyable but lacks a few info.to me, I always felt Far Cry 3 is still the best in the franchise, Primal was okay, Far Cry 4 was playable. This is good, but far from great.
The storyline takes place in a fictional era of Montana, where a large portion has been overtaken by a religious cult that have closed off, borders and captured all the towns and forts. Unlike the other games, where you had a distinct male character with back story and dialogue, you get to choose the sex and appearance of your unnamed hero who is only known as “the deputy”and has no speaking roll at all. Unlike the other games where usually you don’t get to see your character (as you’re always in first person mode), whenever your character dies you get to see him or her, and because you occasionally get to see them you can use in game cash to buy outfits or accessories (which really is just vanity and doesn’t add anything to the game like better defense, etc, personally I think this is more focused for having multiplayer or co-op individuality although I haven’t accessed that part and doubt I ever will). Your character has to go around rescuing their workmates, rescuing townspeople with significant positions and trying to build enough of a resistance that you can take back the region and eventually battle the Cult Leader, Joseph Seed. This game adds a new twist with an airborne drug for a flower pollen which can cause your character to get high and hallucinate – but dangerously getting too much of the effects will force your character into an unavoidable mission you need to escape from a bunker or have to go through a long tedious cut scene.
Unlike the previous editions, this game allows you to unlock and use “companions” to take with you as backup throughout the game, and there’s many different characters to use, including three animals. Almost any NPC you rescue or that appears in a fort you’ve claimed can be a companion, but the best are the specialists unlocked through missions. Some of the companions have certain skills, like being good with stealth and long range weapon, some are good with flame throwers, will be a meatshield and take attention away from you or have planes and helicopters they can follow you with. The companion system comes in handy a fair bit, as new to this game, if you happen to die in battle, you can choose to have a companion revive you (or alternatively just give up and respawn nearby (which if you die during a mission, outs you right at the start of it again). Likewise, if a companion dies, they have a large window of time for you to get to them and revive them, they will lie on the ground and cry for help in various ways – this comes in real handy during big shoot outs. The beauty is, you can have two companions at once, and the AI actually programs the game to make them automatically run to and revive each other if either perish during a fight (as long as one isn’t busy fighting to the death that is) so if you have two companions at once,it increases your chances of having one available to revive you . The companion system isn’t without its flaws though, as just like Skyrim they can get your stealth approaches noticed, get in the way and block you in rooms or tunnels for several minutes or sometimes they tend to walk right in front of that perfectly lined sniper shot and will be immediately killed. The trick is picking the right companion for the right job,you can switch them up at any time, but if a companion dies, there’ll be a timer up to count down until he/she can be used again. They also chat away to each other occasionally, killing a bit of monotony.
As with Far Cry 3 and 4, you can use vehicles scattered through the map, and this includes all types of cars, vans, trucks and helicopters, seaplanes, planes and boats. You can buy some, and upgrade a few. Depending on how many seats the vehicle has your companions can accompany you or follow you in other nearby vehicles.
In this game, there are three regions you have to clear to really get to “end game” and each region is controlled by I guess what would be deemed a captain or sub-boss. For each region there is a meter, and any activity you complete in that region like saving hostages, destroying shrines or taking down transport vehicles, etc, add points to the meter. You don’t have to technically clear an entire region before having to fight that boss depending on what you’re doing, but you will find there’s an annoying stage where once you’ve completed enough actions against a region boss that you’ll have bounty hunters out for you who will never be able to completely avoid – once caught you’re forced into a story mission to escape an area, etc and sometimes you end up playing this mission multiple times which gets old quite quick.
It is a lot of fun and some of the storylines are fun – some hilarious NPCs with funny lines, some good soundtracks and some great action will leave you begging for orebut those parts are few and far between. There are built in challenges but I felt unlike Far Cry 3, there weren’t enough hunting challenges, and there aren’t enough plants in the are to make the injectables to find animals easier. Unlike the other games,it isn’t a case of finding the rare animals to make the best holsters or bigger bags, you have to unlock those through perks which are found mostly in prepper areas.
The ending I got was truly breathtaking and had me speechless (I won’t spoil it), but as I understand it, there are two or three actual endings, and I got the one that is considered to be the “proper” ending supposedly.
Other than that, lots of guns and weapons to choose from,a few melee types,a few different enemy types, but it’s nothing you won’t have seen before. This game has a rather easy fishing game that loses its novelty quite quickly other than to complete challenges.
One boon,if you get a season pass, you’ll get Far Cry 3 on your PS4 for free, it’s worth mentioning. Other than that, it’s playable and it’s worth having if you like the franchise and need a long game to while away many hours.
Great story and game. Of all the far cry’s I found this a bit too simple. Maybe I skipped the change difficulty setting but I can’t remember seeing that. Finished the game mainly using a bow. So a star docked because of this
As with the previous game, this iteration of far cry 5 fails to add too much but adds a new setting to the game with a great story.
Personally, I think they’ve got it right so I don’t need too much to be added to have fun, but I can see why somebody may become bored.
Arcade mode is a nice addition to extend the amount of gameplay somebody can have too.
10/10.
My favourite Far Cry yet. Great graphics, crazy action and it’s not at all repetetive. Ignore the haters about storyline, it’s really fun and the story is engaging, just don’t expect some big politcal statement – reviewers got very confused in wanting the story to be something it isn’t. Just enjoy it, it’s fantastic!
A good game spoiled by periodically getting sucked into missions involuntary that you can’t leave until completed. A frustrating pain in the butt. You pay the money then you should have the option. I play the game on the hard level but often had to reduce it to easy to get past the frustrating missions you get sucked into.
The main campaign felt a little short and the world map size felt a little smaller compared to FC4. The game is still good and there are plenty of side quests and placed to explore, but I think it still requires a little more ingenuity to bring a fresher experience of open world games. I did play FC3 and FC4 and loved them for their original and deep story, but FC5 feels like it’s too much of a borrowed idea from previous iterations and could probably have used a little more time in development to add newer experiences to the FC World. The Games Engine is still ‘Dunia’ and the game is really good, so worth shedding out around 30. I didn’t think it was worth the 45 I paid for it, given it only took me around 18-20 hours to complete all the main quests + 20’ish side quests.
absolutely love this game, the open world is beautiful and extremely fun to explore. The game play is excellent and feels like old far-cry games. The story is well thought through, once you start playing you won’t be able to stop. The villains are charismatic and enticing and the figure of Joseph Seed is one of the best characters a video game has produced in years. Single player campaign has enough content and along with side missions, game play lasts 30 plus hours, so plenty to do and keep yourself occupied with
Terrrific game and loads of fun roving round the large map – shame it’s over too soon; I’m hoping the DLC is more missions and the like (I’m really not interested in mindless zombie waves).
Like so many others I like this a lot, mainly because the large open area that you can explore and do what you want (freedom!)
Don’t like the boss fights which are very linear old school, repetitive, irritating and quite frankly unrealistic as they don’t fit with the rest of the immersive world the creators have made.
It’s a solid addition to the franchise, missions do get a little samey and I can’t put my finger on exactly why, but the game isn’t as immersive as FC4 but overall a good play and fairly engaging.
The fishing is surprisingly distracting from main game!
Before this game I had never got round to playing a Far Cry game. Saw the trailer and advert and decided to get it. I am not disappointed.
The intro and start of the game grabs you and gets you that feel of the storyline, controls and what the general outlook of the game will be. The graphics are immense and at this moment, even playing on a standard PS4 I cannot think of another game with better graphics. Gameplay runs smoothly although there are parts like control and driving a car which is a bit iffy but nothing that spoils it.
Only being part the way through I am just getting a feel for the missions. Ubisoft do seem to have a tried and tested formula. Having played AC Syndicate the set out seems pretty much similar. Areas controlled by the Cultists need to be liberated by clearing them out of places, liberating the outposts, saving civilians, destroying shrines, silos and gaining allies (Pretty much like clearing section by section of London in Syndicate)
Thoroughly enjoying Far Cry 5 and definitely a game I would recommend trying if you like FPS. There are plenty of side quests and ways to advance through perks, gain weapons, make money and customise to add extra game time.
If you like the Far Cry formula then you’ll like this. There isn’t a whole load of changes from the previous instalment but enough to make it feel a bit fresher. Especially how you acquire missions by talking to people in the world or finding maps scattered around in the world rather than having a massively over populated and cluttered map from the off. Personally I loved the setting and the characters of Hope County, Montana. Overall a fun video game and isn’t that what video games are supposed to be.
First of all, why do idiots insist on putting in spoilers in these reviews? FWIW, even saying that the ending is pants is a spoiler. However, here is my short review. Another excellent Far Cry game, generic but updated and much improved graphics. Less of a story than FarCry 4 but the mechanics are excellent and the AI is outstanding. Great fun if you like shooters but not as captivating as it could be. However, it’s a most enjoyable game with many, many things to do which will keep you occupied for a long time.
The best FarCry game yet. A great game with a very immersive world of cult followers, bears, guns and rednecks! What’s not to love? And just when you think you know this game, it surprises you with another neat feature. Hired guns driving or flying for you. Fishing. Bears called Cheeseburger etc
Dive in, shoot stuff and save the day!!
Anyone acquainted with previous Farcry titles will find much that is familiar with this latest addition. You charge around a beautifully rendered environment laying waste to foes with a variety of weapons and tactics. The major shortcoming of the game is a lack of character development and a repetitious storyline/gameplay. That said, the most part the central idea driving the game – a militant religious cult – it’s an interesting and dare I say timely plot, with a chorus compelling antagonists, even if they are under developed. As others have said, it does feel remarkably similiar to previousr Farcry titles, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I would have liked to develop more meaningful relationships with some of the principle characters to keep me interested in the many side quests, which again suffer from the same level of repetition. An enjoyable, but perhaps over familiar shooter.
Far Cry 5 is a very good sequel, enjoyable multiplayer and enjoyable scenery.
After a while it feels like it is very go kill this, bring this back etc.
Enjoyable however, who doesn’t like throwing remote explosives at cows?
FC5 contains everything you want in a Farcry game. It has used the best parts from FC3, FC4 & FC primal to make a fun and interesting game. As standard now with Farcry games, the main villian is incredible! Every encounter is interesting and mildly creepy. The voice actor did a great job. Also, the open world is great, I think it is a big improvment over Farcry 4 and Primal map.
The only draw back is that the game isn’t long enough! I didn’t want it to end. I could have easily kept playing.
If you are a Farcry fan definitely get this game! However, this game is not just for Farcry fans, any fans of FPS games will also love this.
New to the Farcry series but this plot line and theme really appealed to me. I really think that story wise its fantastic… Different and current. I think I’m about a quarter through story mode. I love it. You can just play the main quests or extend and play side missions. I can tell when a game is good when it actually manages to persuade me to do the side missions which this one is. If you want to game where it feels really good to beat the bad guy then this is the battle for you.
Also for those who don’t like online gaming. I’ve been playing this all offline and enjoying the hell out of it. I’m positive for online gamers though the open world must be fantastic.
Although they had claimed this was very different from previous Far Cry set ups, this is still very much the same genre and type, but I absolutely love it as I have its predecessors. Endless hours of fun and the controls for flying seem to have improved since FC4, storyline is solid but I don’t like how when you gather enough resistance points your automatically ‘taken’ for the main story! Very annoying!
*down one star due to the disappointing ending..
So far so good, I have played Far Cry before so know what to expect and not disappointed. some of the music background drives me nuts which is I suppose why the character types are so loopy but hey each to their own. Is it me or do the vehicles not drive great? Only an hour or so in so probably just me.
An excellent addition to the series that’s definately better than FC4 and Primal.
I love the setting this time round because you wouldn’t think Montana would be there first pick for an open world but it works and whilst the A.I. of the ncp’s might not be that great it seems to work brilliantly when you’re out in the backwoods, you always feel like you’re being watched by something which is excellent especially when you add in the games ace outdoor ambience and sound design(the best on any Far Cry to date in my opinion)
Ubisoft have overhauled a lot of the games systems too. The perks work better and I really like the games weapons and customization and the way that if you attain a weapon in the game then that weapon is unlocked in your inventory… a nice touch. Superb game by all counts a million times better than Primal which I didn’t like… no guns?! Sorry… Prehistoric setting for a Far Cry game? Bad idea, in my opinion.
Been playing for a few hours so far story is great and graphically stunning I’m enjoying this game, one thing that annoyed me though is one of the limited edition codes said it was already used when I typed it in that’s why I’m giving 4stars not 5.
It seems like there’s only one big game launched every six months or so these days and this is one of them. Ok so it’s the same far cry in a different genre but it’s still a cracking game with great graphics in HDR and varied missions. Can get a bit hectic at times with scores of enemies coming at you but it’s well worth a go.
Early review as I’m only 3 hours or so into the game but wanted to give my initial thoughts. Having been a huge fan of FarCry 4 this was a must have for me. So far it hasn’t disappointed! I can already tell it’s going to be a fun packed action ride all the way to the end. With loads to unlock and a system of crafting and upgrading which is easy to pick up. The AI seems smart with the game being tough even on normal mode so it’s a decent challenge. The graphics are really good, sounds, explosions and gun play all feeling intuitive and realistic. The game is getting some poor reviews based on the story; however any fan of FarCry knows it’s about a lot more than the story!
So my score of 4/5 is anticipating the rest of the game. If your a fan of FPS games then I would say this is a must have and well worth 46! Amazon flawless delivery as usual!
