The thing is a BEAST! It makes very satisfying flashes and noises (though otherwise it’s completely silent), and it’s “very effective”! I’ve only charged it once so far but that charge seems to be lasting well. I definitely recommend it!
(Having said that, requiring a USB port to charge it works well for me but might not be that simple for others, and if you have to buy a USB charger then it’s a “disguised” extra cost.)
1: plug into laptop to charge for about 3 hours
2: turn on Red side button
3: hold in yellow button on side when ready to Squat that pest ( if you need extra light turn on the blue button on the front )
4: pest snapped no more aerosol can

Amazing product. Does exactly what we want it to do. We had an infestation of about ten flies, probably all hatched at the same time so my son and I got to work.
When it catches a fly there’s a spark and a crackle, and the fly sticks to the bat but can easily be removed with a shake.

Satisfying loud crack as you hit them however to my surprise some flies lie stunned for a minute then will fly off!!
I prefer USB charging rather than having to look for or buy batteries, so I like that feature. Charged it once by USB last month and still going strong. Insects almost explode when they get whacked, very powerful. On/off switch is good, as I have young nieces, wouldn’t want them accidentally getting shocked.
Got this as the fly trap I have just wasn’t working and in the heat the flies have really been a problem. This is easy to use and works great! Charge it up, turn on the red on/off switch and when ready to zap, hold down the yellow button. There’s also a light switch you can turn on and off too.
I probably shouldn’t have had as much fun as I did zapping flies but they’ve been the bane of my existence and this was pretty therapeutic to use too

However, there is no way to not look like a bell-end swinging a Poundland Tennis racket around indoors. Play into the silliness.
I order a lot of stuff on Amazon and don’t really write reviews on here but felt compelled to review this! This item replaced another one we have had for a few years and bought from a garden centre. This one is SO powerful it cracks and bangs REALLY loud when you hit a fly and you can see them light up like a bolt of lightening has hit them! Excellent product! Not sure the claimed UV light is actually UV (looks like a blue tinted lense) and not sure it would do anything even if it was a true UV light, however I don’t care about that as it’s so amazingly powerful and can ge recharged via USB!
This is possibly the best thing I’ve ever bought from Amazon, and I’ve bought a lot.
Lots of fly zappers electric plug in type you see in butchers, cake shops etc, but the bulbs always seem to go quickly. But this is amazing and so satisfying.
Charge lasts for ages and it charges in a couple or few hours max.
Loud crack when you get them, makes me happy. I must have a sadistic side..
Still use the plug in ones for around the house generally but this is amazing. I have battery ones same which are ok when the batteries are fresh but they quickly lose their charge, more so than this one and it saves on buying batteries.
