This device is excellent. I’ve used it for a few months, mostly for walking/running tracking heart rate, calories and sleep. I have switched off the smart connectivity (i.e. notifications from my phone) as I don’t need this and want to preserve battery life.

    1. GPS reliability / speed of connection is great. I have no issues getting an initial connection, nor do I see a drop out whilst using it on an activity (my previous v1 Garmin Instinct had a slow initial connection and would sometimes lose signal during an activity). Obviously if you’re amongst tall buildings there will be an issue, but it’s superior to my Garmin Instinct on the regular runs that I do.

    2. Battery life is fantastic. I really wanted to get the solar version but this is even more money, so I settled for this. I have no issues at all with the battery. I can use it for > 2 weeks with 5 runs per week (using GPS tracking) and it just copes with it fine. I wear the watch most of the day and use heart rate / sleep tracking etc. I can’t even say how long it lasts, since it lasts so long I don’t know. I did work out that it is possibly losing 5% charge for a 1 hour activity with GPS tracking. So I think that it might struggle towards the end of an ultra-marathon, but for a couple of weeks of many activities/long runs, it is brilliant. If you do ultra-marathons, maybe go for the pro or solar version.

    3. The options for running are great – e.g. structured intervals, lactate threshold test and more.

Where I think it can be improved upon:

    1. Initially a little disappointed with the screen contrast. But this is designed this way to be low power consumption, so i’m OK with this given the device does what it’s supposed to do so well.

    2. The app is a little clunky.

    3. Minor improvements could be made – e.g. the ability to set a running activity profile to use km, and another to use miles (currently this is a global setting).

The above are minor issues and overall i’m very pleased with this watch.

Just a brilliant piece of kit for a beginner .
There is a wide range of data from
Basic cardiovascular to oxygen sats to sleep patterns . There is more athlete oriented data including V02 max . Some data takes week to be generated . This is an ongoing process .
Along with the garmin scales you can daily monitor your body fat composition .
There are many invaluable data sets .

I wanted a long running battery with good navigation and so far good! Over the weekend, I did a trail run for over 15hours in ‘All Systems’ mode (I used RacePro with navigation), and the battery is still on!
The watch initially felt too big, compared to my previous watch (Garmin Instinct), but I am now ok with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lived up to expectations!

This watch does everything you want a watch to do… The golf function is every bit as good as the former dedicated Garmin golf watches I’ve had. And has an abundance of extras to use.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI love this Fenix 7 Solar, it’s perfect for my needs and requirements, plus it’s multifunctional matrix gives it numerous advantages and potential.
I’ve set it up to assist me with monitoring my health care via the heart and BP functions and I have already been able to input data that I previously stored on paper. The data can be downloaded and manipulated into easy to access and understand graphs and pie charts in PDF format that I can share with my GP and other health care professionals.
The watch is most aesthetically appealing and I am discovering more and more useful applications as I explore the intuitive nature of the software design. It was really easy to set up and the associated and useful guidance on quick set up processes along with the connections App were exceptional. I really love the product and become more endeared as I explore the different aspects of the design.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersIt’s a complete overkill for average individual, as well as regular athelete. Unless you are competing or an athelete at competetive range/level, well then… Go knock yourself out with the device son.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWent from using an iWatch to this Fenix.

Now that in itself was a big change, the watch is big which took a little getting use to.

I have used Garmin on my bikes for years with no issues, and the watch was the same – no issues at all. Records all my activities easily, gives me a good insight into my sleep patterns as well.

All in all, a great bit of kit, and invaluable for people who lead an active lifestyle

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLove this watch and never take it off. I have average size wrist but glad I got the small size as it is quite a big watch and I didn’t want it to take over my wrist. Functionality is amazing and I have probably only got around to using 25% of the features so far after a few months of use

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersAfter a week of use I am extremely pleased with this watch. It’s solid, well designed and the training planning tool has made a significant difference to the quality of my training. I wanted a watch with a mapping and navigation function to be able to run trails without checking my phone. This was the main reason why I chose this watch over other models and I’m glad I did. The ‘heads up’ display and haptic feedback when coming up to a turn is useful and very accurate. It would be even better if it used Ordinance Survey (UK) maps or was compatible with the OS app, but I’ve found it easy to plot a trail using the OS app, export the data in a file and then upload it into Garmin.
I did loads of research to choose a watch to match my needs, which came down to between the Fenix 7 and Epix 2 and whether the better quality Epix ameloid screen was worth the extra money. Although I only have a dull January to go from, the Fenix 7 screen is clear and easy to see, so I’m completely happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersUsing only gps delivered wrong results, i had to activate all, and it did a good job. Apps is very good and detailed. Battery on a a avrg usage survives around 12-15 days. (10 hours of gps). Gets charged very quickly. No need to go for solar version for it needs daily sunlight exposure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Needs full power usage for accurate use

Great and easy to use. Has more features than I care to use but it does have some added ones that have made me more cognizant of my need for rest.

Wanted an all round smart watch for ages
Had a few apple watches which are good
but this Garmin is night and day better
It looks great has all the apps and sports on it and unlike apple 99% of them are either pre loaded or free on the Garmin app very happy
Update the case is easier to scratch than I would of liked

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersGood for keeping me on the right path when hiking. The stats and tracking are amazing, allowing me to look back over my progress from previous hikes.

Good to be able to plot my own routes on OSMap and then add to Garmin although unfortunately the Garmin app has an error unless you upload and save the .gpx file using another app first.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWhat a watch this is, coming from Samsung Gear Wear. Its a solid watch, took me a few days to get used to it, but now it’s easy. Tracking is great, I never take it off, battery life is amazing, could go a month easy if you well optimise it! Even got a bit more charge on a hot day via solar!

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersThe Fenix 7 is my fifth Garmin watch and my third Fenix watch. There is no massive difference between the Fenix 6 and 7, but as a sea swimmer the GPS tracking is important for me and it has to be said the Fenix 7’s GPS tracking is worlds apart from it’s predecessor. The Fenix 6 was consistently poor, no matter which satellite system you chose on the watch, the swims looked like a Richter scale chart, but the Fenix 7’s performance is stellar in that regard. This is a big factor for me, having decent and accurate open sea swim data.
On the negative side – from day one, the pool swimming activity did not work. The watch was unable to count pool lengths, something the Fenix 6 did perfectly well. This confused me greatly, that Garmin would release the 7 without having made sure everything worked. After several weeks Garmin introduced a patch for this and other teething problems the watch had. Thankfully that fixed the problem.

Now to the most disappointing part – The back/lap button (bottom right button) on the Fenix 7 has stopped working after about 8 weeks usage – this, frankly, is unnaccepable for such an expensive piece of kit, so I will be sending this watch back for a replacement as soon as they are back in stock.
Overall a fantastic piece of kit – but with some teething problems.

Col mio vecchio Fenix dopo 24 ore avrei dovuto ricaricare!
