This hose is less elastic than the hose you get with the micro irrigation kit and so the connections are more prone to leaks. So ok for a long run, but not as good for lots of junctions / connections.
This is the perfect fit for a 4mm irrigation piping set up. Correct strength, flexibility and no leaks. I tested other cheaper (not much) options that were not suitable for the job at all. Don’t compromise for few pounds difference!
If you have a hozelock system, the tubing is superior to other brands and the sprinkler heads remain in place when pressure is applied. The hozelock tubing is, however, quite expensive.
This is so useful, easy to use, why has it taken me so long to realise I needed this. I ordered extra line to go right around the garden to all the pots. Cant wait for next summer, it will save all that watering and can now go away without worrying what plants will survive by the time we get back.
Works nicely, has not started dripping/leaking after 18 months of use. Flexible rubber pipe does harden over time and after a year, you’d probably have to replace lengths of it rather than, say, cutting it to add a new plant watering tap.
What can you say about a small piece of plastic that is part of an automatic watering system? It works, what more do you want? I had to buy some things I didn’t really need to reach the minimum amount for Amazon delivery! It works!
This is the best tube I have used and will last many years .
I have had this tube installed around my garden for at least 15 years without a problem.
Easy to install to micro fitting as long as tube is not too cold.
The Hoselock pipe is softer than the commercial alternatives available and consequently easier to use but you probably would be well advised to secure hose to fittings with cable ties as it naturally becomes even softer when heated by the sun. I experienced it detaching from some fittings under pressure.
Bought this and some other accessories. Set up for all pot plants in garden. Worked a treat during hot summer whilst I was away on holiday for 6 weeks. Highly recommend
I heeded advice on here about the poor quality of the cheaper products – I ended up buying 3 kits with extra tubing as I had 9 baskets and about 30 pots to water – combine with the Hozelock timer/controller and it is a godsend for holidays and saves 30 mins of watering at least per day.
Seems to be ok but the reel is surprisingly small. It’s made out of some sort of rubber which seems to permanently deform if you stretch it beyond a certain point. So If you fix it to a junction it’s really difficult to get off (in fact you have to cut it off)
Hozelock tube is the best I have used other makes but it gets hard on a joint and let’s in air when the water flow is off then I have to blead all
The drip heads.
These pipe my be a bit more expensive the other products out their but worth it. Better quality than the cheaper stuff, believe me I know, I have my hole garden irrigated. I’ve bought the cheaper pipe and had to replace it.
essential part of a hozelock irrigation system, this 4mm tubing takes water from the supply pipe to the spray nozzles. It’s sturdy stuff, with a pretty thick wall. I’ve accidentally hit some of the pipes with a petrol strimmer and it’s stayed in tack. It’s readonably flexible too meaning you can run it discretely out of the way and it won’t try and coil back up, sitting in the middle of the floor.
It’s more expensive than some of the otehr brands that claim compatability. I’ve tried the Aldi own-brand equivalent and the difference in thickness of the tiube wall is reallyu apparent – the Aldi stuff feels shinier and perhaps a little thinner. Overall the impression I got is that the Hozelock stuff will last a lot longer. Only time will tell.
Does what it says on the tin I guess. Pity Hozeloch did not include more in their 20 pot system. Indeed I had to order 2 of these to allow me to link up 19 baskets and tubs I had at front and back of my house.
I bought this hose to extend the Hozelock micro irrigation system set up in the garden.
In my water area during a hose pipe ban a micro irrigation system can be used as long as it complies with certain requirements. Fully compatible with the Hozelock micro irrigation range.
