If you are a gadget lover like me this is a great product, I’ve used it to flexibly connect 2 water butts together but with a difference, it can be used to feed water from to drain pipe Butt, into the second Butt, it can be used for feed directly into the watering can bypassing the second butt, it can be used simulaltainiously with water from both tubs into the watering can providing great flow rate.
It is an excellent 2-way connector for my outside tap:simply screw into the tap thread with finger tight pressure and it produced a leak free join in a few minutes.
..but no more than any other budget garden hose watering device or attachment. For the flexibility it provides, this represents good value at the price. Hozelock is amongst the best mass-market garden watering device suppliers. They are usually quite long-lived and robust products aimed at the domestic gardening market. Highly flexible, decent value and widely compatible gardening products.
I use this to feed 2 hose lines which require different water pressure.I can turn one line on at a time using the red levers which is really handy. My tap is in a corner so bigger connectors were not an option.
Bought 2 of these as we have a long garden with 4 lawns. We can now have a sprinkler on each without constantly having to drag hosepipes up and down the garden. Absolutely brilliant bit of kit and great quality. Just remember not to leave any hose attachments out over winter as these aren’t cheap to replace.
We have high pressure. Originally tried a different hoselock splitter which wasn’t too good then another brand which leaked where it screwed onto the tap and dripped through both plastic tap screws. Rigged it up with ptfe tape for 2 or 3 years until it was disturbed again and leaked. So tried this, with bit of tape – perfect, no sign of any drip
I had one for 2 years and found it very handy to shut off different plant areas from being watered.
Unfortunately I forgot about it and left it connected last year and it cracked from the frost. It was my own fault so have bought a replacement. I think it’s important to note that a lot of these water connections and fittings are not frost safe. It’s common sense really but hope that helps someone.
My garden tap is halfway up the side of our house. With this I can now have a hose for each the front and back gardens and have the unused one turned off.
