We actually wanted it as a kids toy on a hot day and it’s not great for that. Despite having so many settings, there isn’t one that shoots 2+ streams high into the air. There’s no rotation but I guess you could water 50 sqm of grass with one of the multi directional settings.
Still have this now after 6 years!
Works perfectly for my grass whether it’s the 360 or 180 setting. The cloud vapour setting is a personal favourite as it covers the area more evenly.
Laid a new lawn and it measured 5m x 4m and this was perfect. Can adjust to any pattern needed to get full required coverage. Will cover 6m x 6m at most.
The sprinkler is very adaptable. I have amazing water pressure here but this doesn’t go as far as you assume but when you work out the area it does do it’s right.
Its a versatile object which helps with keeping certain parts of my lawn wet when I’ve just overseeded or repaired my lawn.
Some people complain of reduced pressure, it’s not designed to throw water out. The waterstop fittings you can get for hoses reduce water flow and pressure. If you swap out them fittings you will see an amazing improvement. I did on my nozzle for my hose.
I’d recommend this to anyone with a large garden wanting to water parts of your garden for what ever reason or if you have a small garden or odd shaped garden.
The sprinkler has 8 different patterns, I’ve tried all of them and find 3 or 4 useful, the rest are not suitable for my garden, but I’m sure that they will be of use to others. Some of the patterns spray water in all directions, with the head in the centre, this means that you get wet when you reposition it, unless you turn the tap off first, which is fine. There are setting that direct the water in one direction only (away from the hose), using these it is easier to move the sprinker head without getting wet. There is no moving part so the water doesn’t get as evenly distributed as with some other sprinklers, but for the price I can live with that. It certainly saved my lawn over the recent hot dry spell. The Hoselock system makes it easy to add and remove the head, swapping from this sprinkler to a handheld nozzle can be done in a couple of seconds.
Bought along with hozelock 360 spray spike, the two were cheaper than top of range 360 spray and mist spike. Have to say made very wise move, this is versatile with good angles and depth of spray in full and half moon, square and oblong patterns that you dial up to meet your need. good field of reach and still good reach if water pressure drops a bit, I use regularly on mist or drench and also strip functions for watering a line of trees and bushes.
Very good at soaking humans too and unwary pets and Postie! Only drawback is if you have a small hand, don’t try turning the grey dial whilst wet, it requires a firm turn when dry, so don’t think you can sneak up on it and change the spray pattern without getting drenched, even if its only on 180 pattern. It will happen, you will get covered and anyone watching will fall about with laughter. Naturally, when you turn it off at tap and change the pattern it turns like a dream. So good product, spray versatile, will reach to back of 6- 8 foot or upto 2m border and good angle and depth of reach, fits standard hozelock fittings, usual rules about look after it and with fair wear and tear t will last, if left in extremes of temperature it will become brittle and not last as long. Recommended.
