I’ve always wanted something that can perform more than 1 purpose, so I was pretty sold when I saw this was a salad spinner, grater, slicer (super sharp & I cut myself actually whiles cleaning it) & veg spaghetti maker (haven’t used that yet). It’s bulky coz it’s a salad bowl too, but I use that as a dish so it’s super well used!
The blade is super sharp, making slicing potato very easy. The protector is a nice addition, as the slicer is normally one of the most dangerous tool in the kitchen. Also, the spinning is a life-saver. After washing the veggies, spin it for a couple of seconds, then it won’t create a splashing scene when you put it into the hot oil pan for frying. Definitely recommend this. (FYI, it’s half the price of some fany shopping mall that I’ll keep the name off. I immediately returned that one and bought on amazon.)
Excellent spinner and slicer. Spinning is smooth but the outer bucket could be a bit thicker. If you are into plants and vegetables go for it. It comes with a finger protector which is helpful. My first Joseph Joseph product and am very happy.
I was sceptical at first as thought it’d be a waste of money BUT…. money well spent.
Sooo easy to use and clean… no mess around. Doesn’t take up much space for storage.
Love this. Spiner works very well and i love the spiraler.
Deffo recomended
The veg slicer is sharp…. very sharp…. very very sharp as to be expected. Do not get distracted when using it …. or you’ll slice of a bit of finger and nail – and that will bleed like stink
This is a great item if you want lots of utensils in one small space. The salad spinner works beautifully and the whole thing is a useful addition to any kitchen.
Could this possibly double up use to additionally work as a filter/sieve to seperate unpopped kernals from popped corn?
(Asking here because question didn’t seem to post after initial search-other-questions)
It makes a terrible mess when using grater. Sends food bits flying around immediate surroundings. Spinner is excellent. Tools really helpful and good to have everything all in one place. Would be better if can go in dishwasher.
I know Joseph and Joseph tends to have pricey things but everything I had buy in the past, including this multi-prep, are high quality and useful. We don’t have that much space in our kitchen so this was life changing. We have used every single part of it, almost on a daily basis, and everything keeps working perfectly.
Got this on Treasure Truck deal, so great value for top brand.
Great quality, functional and easy to clean. Just mind the sharp blade.
Now a Very useful piece of kit in kitchen 🙂
I love this, it’s good quality, easy to use and clean plus it looks nice. The grating and spiralizing attachment are easy to clip in and remove. I would recommend this product.
I got it at a good price which is always a bonus.
The wife loves this, as do I.
Only issue is the exposed blades.
There’s a small tool for holding items being sliced, to save your fingertips but the grip on this isn’t great so items start to slip so you have to use fingers…we’ve already had bloodshed because of this.
This set has 4 pieces: a spinner, a spiraliser, a slicer and a grater:
The spinner is great to get rid of the excess water when washing your salad, and there’s something very entertaining when you spin it at top speed and you hear the funny noise it makes, it’s like a plane about to take off.
The spiraliser is fine: I used it the way they demonstrate in the video, with a piece of a courgette, and got the nice spiral pattern that they advertise.
The slicer is probably the most “dangerous” piece of the set, as the blade is very sharp. You really should use the included finger protection to use it, holding whatever you are slicing (I’ve tried with carrot, onion, beetroot, peppers and tomatoes). Firm fruits / vegetables are best, since they can go against the blade without getting mashed. Tomatoes are worse, but you can slice them if you move them sideways a bit. It’s very important that you resist the temptation to use this without the finger protection, or you can cut yourself badly.
The grater works fine, too: so far I’ve only used it with carrot and it was OK.
You can replace each of the pieces and put it on the top of the bowl, and that is easy enough. It’s also very good that you can store everything inside the bowl, so it doesn’t take any extra space.
At the time of writing this I have seen some comments about the plastic quality, which I agree doesn’t feel premium, and at 45 I would probably be disappointed. I bought this set using Amazon’s Treasure Truck, paying 27 instead, so I’m actually very happy with it.
The other comments, about the sharpness… they are indeed true: this is potentially dangerous, and needs to be used very carefully and paying attention. After you wash your fruit & veggies they can easily slip, and you would be cutting your fingers instead, unless you use the protection.
