This wooden xylophone is very aesthetically pleasing with its muted pastel colours. Wooden toys are something you just don’t come across so much now and I think they are lovely. Some people are disappointed that the notes aren’t “in tune” but honestly that’s what gives it extra charm to me, so much nicer than clanking metal! Keeps my 18 month old nephew entertained as he says “tune” as he plays it and giggles. It’s a hit here.
To get one slight issue out of the way to begin with, a couple of the keys on this xylophone seem to play the same note (despite being different sizes, strangely). That said, they all make distinct sounds at a decent (but not too loud) volume, so for a child not overly fussed about being in tune it is perfectly useable. The set comes with two sticks and sits in a stable manner on whatever surface, so the kids can really go as nuts as they like (or are allowed)!
Being of quite chunky wooden construction, the toy will also take quite a bit of punishment (or affection, depending on how you look at it). Everything is well put-together, the sticks don’t seem to leave any marks on the keys and they don’t seem in any danger of coming loose either. The price might seem a little high, but the quality of construction and materials would seem to justify it. This is the kind of toy a child can have for their whole childhood, perhaps even pass it on afterwards.

A quality built wooden xylophone with 2 sticks that can be stored in the end. Makes noise (not in tune lol) and looks pretty with the pastel type xolours. Comes in a rustic box suitable for gifting…17.99 makes it expensive but a nice gift.
As a Nursery Practitioner, I am always very excited when I am offered toys and educational items for review as I am able to share these with the children in my Playroom. This wooden xylophone made a lovely addition to our music basket! This is made from wood, which is a much nicer material for children to explore than plastic or metal and also more environmentally friendly and long lasting. The bars of the xylophone are painted in pastel colours which have a muted tone, and there are a pair of batons. Playing musical instruments not only encourages creativity, it helps to develop coordination and motor skills too, as well as introducing rhythm and beat. This xylophone is a lovely toy which sounds as good as it looks. It has proven to be robust – My playroom welcomes 24 children across a 5 day week and they have all enjoyed exploring the sounds they can make with this toy. The xylophone is well made, sturdy and has rounded edges. The children in my playroom are aged 2 – 3 years, however I see no reason why you couldn’t gift this to a child aged 12 months and over and this will continue to hold fascination for children as they grow and develop. This would make a lovely gift and is a very welcome addition to our musical toy box!
This is beautiful and a delight to watch my 10 month old daughter using. The notes are a bit dull but they each are different and a tune can be achieved. Which makes my duaghter smile and she can mimic me using the beater and make noises herself. The volume isn’t unbearably loud and is in fact quiet enough to not get annoyed at if you’re sensitive to prolonged children noise.
It’s got lots of educational value as well as fun. I’ve already noticed her gripping the beaters better and her hand eye coordination improving with each use.
The xylophone looks great too. The wood is flawless and perfect. The paintwork is great. It’s clearly been manufactured to a high standard and I expect this is a toy built to last that will go for family to family, resold or given away or even kept for future grandchildren.
This child’s xylophone has been made beautifully, all edges are rounded off, its a very tactile toy, its soft to touch, nice and lightweight, let your children create sweet music lol, it sounds great, two little drum sticks and I love the pastel colours used.
Really nicely made, comes in a lovely presentation box, would make a great gift!
With the war against plastic definitely having hit the toy market, there appears to be a demand for a return to wooden products – not only because they potentially look better and last longer. I checked out these from Just Bee Kids to see how they would do.
First impressions were good as the toy itself appears to be well built, nicely painted and looks like it’ll stand up to some sustained use. In terms of playability there are two sticks that hit each of the planks on the xylophone to make a noise. The noise isn’t as loud as metal alternatives but you can still pick out a difference between the notes. The sticks can be stored in the end of the xylophone when done. The toy is recommended for 1 year plus though no guarantees of good tunes at that stage.
Overall it’s well built and can see it being enjoyed for a long time.

This is a well presented item. Build quality is good and painted well. While this is a toy I found it wasn’t very well tuned and some of the blocks did not resonate very well. Not really a big issue for a child , but at the current price I would have liked this really.
However it would still make a lovely present and seems durable. A child certainly would have fun bashing on this.
