Kingroon PLA, Black PLA Filament 1.75 mm
At the default temperatures this filament was stringing BADLY, I’ve lowered the nozzle temperature to 185C and now it’s printing perfectly. No issues at all.
Very good pla filament.
Recommend and it’s the cheapest you can buy on Amazon. Normal PLA, not for fast printing.
If you need a pla for fast printing, search for PLA+
I bought this to try PETG on my Neptune4. Took one test print to get the setting right – a temperature tower.
So with retraction on at 4mm, nozzle temp at 245 degrees and bed temp at 75 degrees max print speed at 50mm/s – job’s a goodun.
Good material and gives shiny prints – the cup shown printed first time and looks very good.
This is decent PLA works as PLA should, my only gripe is with how tightly wound it is. The spool was not cooled well before winding and thus has a ton of tension in the spool and frequently causes tangling problems. This issue will not apply to all printers.
I’m always looking for the cheapest filament, unfortunately sometimes that’s ends in disaster. NOT WITH THIS FILAMENT!
It gives you amazing prints, every time. Assuming you have your settings dialed in, but even then it’s incredibly forgiving in how accurate your settings are, while still giving quality prints.
The pictured print was at 200c, 100% flow on an ender3 v1.
Will buy more of this brand in the future.
It has a tendency to peel off the bed with prints with a large footprint, but it prints nicely otherwise and without much trouble. If you have an enclosure, the peeling is pretty much eliminated. For a budget filament for a beginning maker, I’d recommend it.
Tried a lot of filament and this make seems to do the best for me on my Aquila s2, tried lots of white that kept causing clogs in my nozzles on every print and had this one so decided to try the white. No problem at all, worked exactly as the black did so this will be my go to filament from now on.
I was unsure wether this filament was going to be superb or just mediocre in its printing quality.
I was really surprised that using basic settings for PLA, this filament produced some of the best detail and finished prints ive made with PLA.
i didnt change any heat settings, retractions or speeds, and the end result was a really smooth print, and zero stringing.
for this price, its better than some of the more expensive branded stuff, and even on par with PLA+ silk.
You can pay >20 for PLA or 13.99 for this PLA. I was dubious because I wanted non-tangled PLA on arrival and good quality prints. Upon opening the package I noticed the filament was not wound perfectly and I was considering returning it. I then printed various prints some as long 1d 5h and I’ve had great quality prints and no issues with tangled filament. It rolls off nicely.
Would I buy it again? Yes.
Bed: 60C (always) Nozze: 205C (always).
Any filament selling 1kg for only 12.99 is going to cause some apprehension regarding its performance, but for that price I thought that I would give it a go.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is a great filament regardless of the price! It comes nicely packaged and most importantly well wound, so no chance of a nasty tangle mid print. I ran it at 200c with 60c bed and it printed smoothly without any issues whatsoever.
I will definitely be getting more of Kingroon’s filament and would recommend that you grab some too.
As an owner of a Kingrron KP3s, I thought it only fair that I should at least “Try” their filament also.
P+P: Item arrived next day, which was amazing for a “None Prime” member. Usual packaging, nothing special there.
Quality: Wound nicely on the spool, feels pretty good, nice and smooth with an even sheen.
Settings: This is black PLA that I bought and TBH, I just used an old PLA set up that I had on Cura and used that for my test. 55 base temp and 195 nozzle temp to start with then down to 180 later in the print. As a lower priced filament, I expected things to be a little ropey but you know what?
It was actually pretty good, better than I could imaging. Yes this is budget filament so you are going to have to tweak your slicer settings some to perfect your finish but myself, personally, out of the box with an old Cura PLA profile, I more than impressed.
Thank You Kingroon.
***Obviously I ordered black and therefore is not sheer, hence, no rating***
