Might seem odd to be so happy that this can opener actually works, but I have purchased many over the past few years that are totally useless. This one is great, just know that you only go around once to avoid shavings. And once (so far) is all I’ve needed to do.

This can opener does a decent job in opening cans but often, doesn’t really cut through can lids as well as I would have expected based on reviews. The magnet on the handle is useful.

My old can opener could handle larger cans, but could not open a can of tuna. My old one, a Kuhn Rikon is used parallel to the surface of the can. I’ve had it for years and most likely was finally wearing out. I decided to try the Kitchendao, and I’m glad I did. It opens every can easily. The name may be similar to Kitchenaid at a quick glance, perhaps intentionally. It doesn’t matter though–this is a great can opener!

This can opener replaces an antique that I have no excuse for keeping over the past 20-some years.
Struggling with half-opened cans, difficult cranking, and a general gunky appearance, I finally caved in and bought this opener based on user reviews.
You can now add this review to the positive ones, hopefully aiding others in their search for an effortless can opening experience. This opener checks all the boxes as far as ease of operation, hand-held comfort, and the nifty magnet at the end of the handle is a plus when fishing out lids while avoiding cut fingers.

This thing works perfect. And my old opener and others that I have tried have the connection of the two parts lower so you can easily bend them and then the blade doesn’t cut well. These have an over lapping design to help so that doesn’t happen. One side is double walled and slips over the other side so it stays in better alignment. We will see over time. But def doesn’t bend as easy. And the connection is at the top rather than lower down so that should prevent bending too.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe KITCHENDAO Manual Can Opener has been a lifesaver for me as someone with constant joint pain, especially due to rheumatoid arthritis. Simple tasks like using a can opener can be a challenge, but this product has truly made a difference. The soft grip oversized knob provides a comfortable and secure hold, which is essential for individuals like me who struggle with joint pain. The built-in magnet is a convenient feature that helps lift the lid off the can without any unnecessary strain or sharp edges. Overall, this can opener is incredibly easy to use and is clearly designed with accessibility in mind.

My old one was just that, an old one that became dull and was skipping sections of the can. I have opened a dozen cans so far and one can skipped on one spot, but overall for the price, it works well and when it gets dull, I’ll buy another one.
