Used to remotely switch on 2 remote lighting sockets, total draw approx. 1,125 w (5 amp). Well within specs.
On reboot works, then shortly after fails turns off and will not reconnect – re boot and will then reconnect for a short time again. Each instance time period for failure reduces. Having said which other 10 or so units all working ok and happy with these. Defective item replace from spare I had is stock and presently fine. A bit frustrated with amazon service as 2 attempts to get call back failed and just kept saying call failed try again but did manage to resolve refund through chat.
So it is really easy to install into the socket no difference to replacing a standard socket.
My only complaint was there no mention of pressing the WPS button on the modem.
Downloaded the smartknight app
Register it.
Then I got access to my modem switch of the 5g function
Then got the socket in pairing mode
Entered the wifi password int the app
Press the WPS button
Then on the app press add device hit the socket icon
Wait success.
Then back to your modem and turn on 5g
Again.
Its well made and easy to fit. Setup was easy peasy with smartlife. I’ll be getting some more to replace the old smart plugs. Lets see how long it lasts.
I now have 3 of these units and they work flawlessly. They are not to deep which is great and fit most my standard double sockets.
Wiring was easy and the knight bridge app worked well. It did take a few attempts to connect but that’s only because you need to press the power option on the sockets and get the lights flashing.
Overall they are great value and a very easy way to not only add smart functionality with Alexa but more importantly also track energy usage across the house at a device level.
I have bought several so called smart sockets, plugin and wall sockets. I currently use the Tuya platform for both WiFi and ZigBee smart devices but found some just don’t work out the box. The lovely BG double sockets look good but currently don’t work with Tuya. I ordered the Knightsbridge sockets and although they do have their own app, they work straight away with Tuya using WiFi socket install. I also have 2.4 and 5ghz WiFi with same said. I did not have to separate them, it connects directly. Great socket, easy to configure.
Socket was easy to install – replaced the existing socket and fit like a glove. App allows you to control both sockets or a single socket. Power light is quite bright at night though.
