It’s a great idea, and something I imagine I would have enjoyed as a child. Bought for my son, though they seem consciously marketed at girls. Initially I thought the purple plastic plates mist be missing, but they’re in pieces in the central compartment.
The yellow plastic tray is not sturdy, you may want to invest in alternative storage if this is a favoured toy – pill boxes or anything with a lid that closes fully over individual compartments would work.
Had I paid full price I think I would be less pleased, but for a tenner it’s a good toy.
I’ve recently fallen in love with Lego dots. They’re great to foster creativity and they are super fun. We’ve gotten this set as a present for various 5 and 6 year old girls and they’ve all loved it.
Bought as a gift for a ten year old lots of different ideas to create with this and can have as one large base plate or two smaller ones.
Good value for money, would recommend.
Grandaughter loves this, uses it for messages. Uses it on a tray as sometimes it splits in two if you press to hard. Comes with it’s own section box for storage. Great fun, good value for money.
Not enough sections for one for each colour, not sure that matters as there are certainly enough to make picking easier, 6 small sections around the outside and one large section in the middle.
When you need a rest from dots the tray comes in handy to hold parts for other kits as you build.
I got two of these on the offer. My girls love making them and writing different messages to each other using them. Keeps them busy for hours and great for developing motor control- which is a bonus!
Can’t comment too much a sots for Christmas but the outer packaging looks fab. The box is bigger than h thought it would be! Hopefully make one little girl happy x
We purchased as a gift for a six year old girl. Thought it made a fun and versatile gift. Wouldn’t buy at full price, but got it for a bargain.
I bought this for my granddaughter who had a great time playing with it.
My only negative is that the only inbuilt tray doesn’t have enough sections for the colours provided
My daughter got this dots set for her 6th birthday. It’s a great gift for someone who likes lego and building, but also likes art and colouring.
She now regularly makes little pictures, signs and notes for her door. She started off copying the designs from the little leaflet, but now she does her own.
I’ve only deducted a star as the fixing that holds the two purple plates together is just a single block on the top and bottom. It would be good to have another flat long piece for the back for some added stability. A minor niggle as we have other lego we can use for this, but you may not.
